Congress Reverses Light Bulb Ban… NOT

Posted By The P/Oed Patriot I, like many of you, did a few cartwheels when I noticed the headline on Drudge that said: “Congress Overturns Incandesenct Light Bulb Ban…” The dreaded “green” light bulb ‘mandate’ that was created in 2007 was dead!

RIP: Christopher Hitchens (1949-2011)

guest post by Mike LaRoche Yesterday came the sad news that Christopher Hitchens – cheeky polemicist and militant atheist – passed away of esophageal cancer at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

“Nya Nya Nya Nya Nya!”

Obama’s re-election campaign is now encouraging Democrats to flaunt their financial support for the President, in order to taunt their Republican friends: This holiday season, we’re giving you a chance to have a little bit of fun at their expense.  Let a Republican in your life know they inspired you to make a donation to the Obama campaign — chip in $3 or more today.

Big Trouble in Red China?

Report: Gov. Gary Johnson (R-NM) May Announce Switch to Libertarian Party

guest post by Mike LaRoche I suppose that like James Taranto, I should classify this as a “Bottom Story of the Day” or a “Question No One is Asking”, but reports are surfacing that current GOP presidential candidate Gary Johnson, governor of New Mexico from 1995 to 2003, is planning to switch his allegiance to the Libertarian Party and seek that party’s nomination.

Tebowphobia Hits All Time High – Broncos Superbowl Win May Cause ‘Burning Mosques’ and ‘Bashing Immigrants’

Posted by – Adam Sharp – SharpElbows.Net – @SharpEblowsNet – This well thought out opinion comes from Rabbi Joshua Hammerman of Jewish Week If Tebow wins the Super Bowl, against all odds, it will buoy his faithful, and emboldened faithful can do insane things, like burning mosques, bashing gays and indiscriminately banishing immigrants.

BREAKING: Voters Are Smart, Fear Government Most

(Kennedy Smith holds a degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University; please send him a much-needed Nobel check @TheKennedySmith) The President’s class warfare schtick doesn’t seem to be gaining nearly the traction that Axelrod had hoped, as Michael Goodwin reports in the Nation’s Newspaper of Record: Woe is President Obama.

Hope and Change Hits Children Hardest

By Guest Dave Carter (Dave Carter is a contributor for Ricochet.com, a retired military veteran, and currently a long haul truck driver.)   After a really rough day spent piloting an 18 wheeler through New Jersey traffic, I was ready to begin an in-depth study of the inside of my eyelids when I saw this from USA Today:  One in 45 children in the USA — 1.6 million children — were living on the street, in homeless shelters or motels, or doubled up with other families last year, according to the National Center on Family Homelessness.  The numbers represent a 33% increase from 2007, when there were 1.2 million homeless children, according to a report the center is releasing Tuesday.

Book ‘Em, Danno: “Hawaii Five-O” Crew Disrespects Pearl Harbor Survivors

guest post by Mike LaRoche I can’t say I’m surprised by any of this, given the elitist, anti-American proclivities of many members of the entertainment industry.  On Friday, December 9, 2011, two dozen Pearl Harbor veterans gathered at the Punchbowl Crater in Honolulu, home to the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, to honor the fallen heroes of the Battle of Pearl Harbor.  While the ceremony was underway, a nearby CBS production crew – filming a scene for an upcoming episode of “Hawaii Five-O” – walked over graves and paid no heed to the national anthem or any other aspect of the ceremony.  Once the event concluded, things only got worse.  Writes Steffan Tubbs of Denver’s Newsradio 850 KOA: Three hundred yards away and clearly visible to them, no one on the CBS production stopped for the anthem or any part of our program.  This included the ending of our presentation – Taps and the moment of silence.  I was perturbed, but because our veterans faced me, they couldn’t see the disrespect.  The ceremony ended and several men hopped on golf carts to visit their fallen comrades buried in other parts of the cemetery.

ATF Agent’s Open Letter to Eric Holder

(Kennedy Smith is familiar with only one drug cartel, based in Lynchburg,TN; pry it out of his cold dead hands @TheKennedySmith) I try to remain cool and flippant at all times, but this is a disgrace, and a deadly one.  If you sell your own agents down the river, after putting them in danger of their lives for your ivory-tower political crusades, some of them might start to resent it.
