Secret Service Finds Booze And Prostitutes More Important Than Obama

By: Andrea Ryan It looks like the Secret Service thinks booze and prostitutes are more important than Obama.  An advance party providing foreign security detail for President Obama’s attendance at an international leaders’ summit in Cartagena, Columbia got busted screwing around on the job Friday.  A dozen agents were reprimanded and sent home for allegedly boozing and cavorting with the local prostitutes.  Several of them are married.

By: Andrea Ryan Congratulations to the Cheney family.  One of the stars of the Conservative movement has been rewarded by the technologies of modern medicine.  For the past two years, Vice President Dick Cheney has been using a left ventricular assist device (LVAD) as a bridge to a heart transplant, since his own heart was too sick to go on after five heart attacks.  Dick Cheney waited like everyone else did for the miracle organ transplant and utilized one of the miracles of modern medicine, the LVAD, to get him there.

Kony 2012: Sentimentalism Dressed Up as Moral Conviction

Kony 2012 is the fastest spreading viral video in the history of the Internet.  It is a documentary, created by an organization based in San Diego, CA, called Invisible Children.  The purpose of both the video and the organization is to raise awareness of a murderous warlord in Africa, named Joseph Kony, who has, for the past three decades, been kidnapping children and, through brutal and barbaric means, turned them into soldiers and sex slaves for his Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA).  The video is suffused with emotional appeal for outrage, sympathy, guilt, and a noble urgency to help the pledge to capture Joseph Kony in 2012.  But, here are some other facts to consider before buying into the emotional manipulation and jumping onto this new trend wagon.

Don’t mess with Rush or the Dittoheads may screw with you.  Citing great offense over Rush’s Sandra Fluke remarks, Carbonite’s CEO pulled its advertising and issued a loud statement of protest on its website Saturday.  Even though Rush Limbaugh apologized.  Too bad for Carbonite…its investors made a loud statement of their own when the market opened on Monday.

Tonight we saw in the acceptance speech of Mitt Romney all of the love for America embodied in Reagan’s “Shining City on the Hill”, and at the same time Romney strikes us with the comparison to Obama’s decrepit Socialist welfare states of Europe.  The contrast could not be more stark.  Romney wants America to be America.  Obama wants America to be Europe.
