Kamala Harris Anti-Recall Rally With Gavin Newsom Canceled: Veep Flying Back to DC After Kabul Airport Terror Attack

Kamala Harris canceled a planned car rally with California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) set for Friday on the return leg from her diplomatic trip to Asia. It is reported Harris is flying back to the nation’s capital after a stop in Hawaii after leaving Vietnam.

The announcement of the change in schedule was made by by Harris spokeswoman Symone Sanders, “Following the @VP’s visit to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam this afternoon, the Vice President will return to Washington D.C.”

Jack Posobiec reported Harris is in contact with Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, “Kamala Harris has cancelled her appearance with Gavin Newsom and is headed directly to DC. She is in discussion with SecDef Austin while midair.”

The car rally rules called for attendees to provide proof of COVID vaccination or a negative COVID test within the previous 72 hours and were asked to bring a mask.

Location: Parking lot at Cow Palace Arena & Event Center, 2600 Geneva Ave, Daly City, CA 94014

Time: Gates open at 11:00 AM. Rally begins at 1:00 PM. The earlier you arrive, the better parking spot you will get.

Security and health protocols will be in place. Make sure you’re on time.

Must provide proof of vaccine or negative test within 72 hours for driver and all attendees in car

Before the cancellation, an update was added that attendees would be required to stay in their cars, reported KCBS Radio reporter Doug Sovern:

“New details: @KamalaHarris will campaign with @GavinNewsom at a “car rally” in the Cow Palace parking lot in SF at 1pm tomorrow afternoon, per the evite circulating to supporters. Attendees must stay in their vehicles, and must be vaccinated or show negative test results.”

Harris has remained silent on the Kabul airport terror attacks in deference to Joe Biden who did not speak on the attacks until after 5 p.m. EDT, about eight hours after the attack.
