Is It Time to Contact Gannett Board of Directors For Official Reaction to Invasion of Privacy to Legal Gun Permit Holders?

On Sunday, liberal New York newspaper The Journal News published the names and addresses of legal permit holders in two counties online and in print. If that wasn’t bad enough, this weekend, the Gannett owned  Journal News announced that it will publish more names and addresses of residents holding pistol permits in the New York area.

Enough is Enough.

Two other outlets have posted names and personal contact info for the employees of this Gannett owned paper. Isn’t it about time the Gannett Board of Directors were contacted for their official reaction to this controversial practice?  Do these board members think this is appropriate and ethical?  It would be interesting to hear from these board members.

Maybe someone should contact these board members and ask them.
Because of the holiday weekend you may have trouble reaching them in their offices so you may want to try them at home.
Anybody have their numbers?

Glenn Reynolds added: “It would be interesting to run a background check on them, too, and look for DUI’s, unpaid support, etc. All in the public interest, of course . . . Especially since the Journal News is doubling down.”

Please feel free to forward contact information for these board members to this blog.

And on their dependents too. . .spouses. .children. . .

Time to make it ALL transparent and expose the frauds from the respectable citizens.

I know this wasn’t a Corporate decision by Gannett, and it was made at the local level, but I have yet to hear anyone from their Corporate Office denounce this ambush style journalism.

You can also contact Gannett’s Corporate Headquarters, and express your concern of how one of their newspapers is putting law abiding citizens, and their neighbors safety at risk.

When, just when, are we gonna learn to get the heck off the field, walk up to the top of the bleachers, and look at the WHOLE GAME ? Yes they can, yes they will, it’s quite possible, and Americans WILL allow. Want Proof ? OBAMACARE !!

So let me introduce you to a lady, a badass hot chick, who will forget more about guns, weaponry and firearm ownership manipulation than you will ever remember. Her name is Michelle.

Michelle HartMichelle Hart – Before I begin I would like to thank Sundance for providing this opportunity to write for the Tree House.

I would also like to make a few thing’s crystal clear, There are around 75,000 types of small arms on the planet today depending on how stringently you classify them, and I’ve used most of them offensively and defensively, and that is the extent to which I will discus my background in modern weapon systems. So please don’t ask me for details because that is not the purpose of this contribution and it’s actually just not very relevent.

One thing you really do need to grasp though before I continue, probably above everything else, is that I’m really not interested in what your “hunting buddies” told you, or what you heard on the sportsman channel from Bubba. I don’t care what you think you know, or how many years you have been walking a beat, or any of the rest of that typical macho stuff. This is the very big picture information you need to understand about what is coming, and how the statist’s and Americas enemies plan to accomplish it.

Welcome to Michelle’s Gun Girl Class, or Hot Guns & Smart Chicks!

People in NYC need to show up at the homes of these newspaper folk. Knock and their doors and get in their face. Intimidate them. Show up to their children’s schools and tell them what pieces of filth their parents are.

The right needs to start adopting the harassment techniques of the left. Sitting idly by and turning the other cheek is not a valid response.

  • J

What a wonderful country we have. And, obviously, we have very careful, thoughtful gun owners. If we did not, the loons on the left would be very nervous about threatening PEOPLE WHO OWN GUNS. That, alone, is evidence of how careful our citizens are about gun safety.

Gannett & “the Journal News” put the lives of law-abiding citizens in jeopardy. This should be handled straight-up and demand that the “system” work by putting pressure where it belongs. This is probably a legal issue now as class-action lawsuits are probably not far behind.
To go the extra mile, it might be helpful to write the NY Attorney General.

  • Oh Noes!

So how does Journal – News reporter Dwight R. Worley rate a NYC pistol permit?
According to an Editor’s Note accompanying this reporter’s article revealing the home addresses of all licensed pistol owners, “Journal News reporter Dwight R. Worley owns a Smith & Wesson 686 .357 Magnum and has had a residence permit in New York City for that weapon since February 2011.”

Ole Dwight Worley the Hypocrite owns a gun and still had nerve to print other names and addresses of gun owners. Such a POS Journalism. They need to be closed down, boycott the SoB’s

Good to know where the gun nuts are so we can send our commandos in to confiscate them. All of this has been saved. Thanks Gannett! Now we just need to disarm these scum and the rest of them. Still can’t stop LOLing at them thinking they can take on the Gov’t with their little pop guns. If they hole up and won’t come out, we can just call them terrorists and blast them with our drones. Can’t wait for the gun nuts to get their reckoning. Too much innocent blood on their hands…

I say we as Americans need to turn it up on these liberals that are demonizing America.
The Constitution means nothing to them and each step they take is further erosion of our liberties. How about picketing outside their offices and homes. Publish some personal information that is public record on them.

    Scattered Shower of Journalism?

[But the host didn’t back down.

“Rev. Jackson, I’m going to make one more turn at this question, because the original question was, Chicago has some of the strictest and most tough gun laws in the country,” he said boldly. “If this level of gun laws doesn’t work in Chicago, and you still have the guns coming from outside the city in, and now you got 500 homicides this year, what is the argument to extending this nationally and to other cities?”]

  • Odawg

Come try this in Texas! We are the 99% who own guns except for a few liberals who live in Austin (little San Francisco)! If I wanted to, I could actually provide a couple of names, addresses and phone numbers of non-gun owners; however, I will not stoop to the level of the low-life scum in New York! If you watch the evening news on a regular basis, you are informed that roughly 4,000 persons (generally kids of teenagers) are killed each year in Obama’s hometown… did you she he or Feinstein call for assault rifle bans in his 1st 4 years in the Oval Office? Hell no! Let’s do a little math… 4 x 4,000 -= 16,000 innocent kids killed in Chicago… 26 innocent people (mostly kids) killed in a school and all of the sudden guns are BAD! I do not by any means place any difference between the kids in the school or on the kids on the streets of Chicago… they are all innocent people who did not have to die. Why is it that our government places the kids in the school above the kids in Chicago? Makes no sense! DWI’s kill more innocent people each year than guns! Do you see a ban on cars? No! The average bond set by a judge/magistrate for a 1st-time DWI offender in Texas is around $1500.00… go figure! Liberals… guns are not the problem, cars are not the problem… idiots are!!!!

It appears that the Gannett Board has a committee on nominating and PUBLIC RESPONSIBILITY. How responsible is it to publicize this information and possibly jeopardize the lives and well being of others as a result?

  • Ken Mayes

Just googled Marjorie Magner. She is a big time liberal, so no doubt she supports what this wacko newspaper is doing. If there is any doubt where she stands just look at her political donations. Obama, Hillary and other liberals.

  • Let me tell you about Gannett! Back in the day it ran our local paper. Back before PC was PC these yahoos refused to recognize the color of a perp if he was black. We used to laugh at the stories because between the lines you could see the bad guy was a black person.

If the perp was white the story would read: “The suspect was described as a white male, blonde hair, mustache, about 5-10 and two hundred pounds.”

If it were a black guy it would go like this: The suspect is a male about 5-10 two hundred pound with black curly hair and a mustache.

    No kidding.

They were so worried about being thought of as critical they nearly cracked in half bending over backwards.

Great #41….now, using their addresses, let’s get pics of their homes…property data, cars they own, etc.

  • Highlander

Joseph, I certainly hope you were being sarcastic, but if you weren’t, I have a question for you. Have you ever seen the movie Red Dawn? You’re assuming that the military would support a government that tried to disarm the people, and I think that is a rather bold assumption. Our military is comprised of regular citizens, with families and homes, and they’ve taken an oath to protect and defend this country and its Constitution. I have a hard time believing that they would ever support an unconstitutional order to seize our weapons. And, the day the good people of this country decide that armed resistance is necessary, whether it be against an invader, or our own government, the military will be leading the charge, and we’ll be right behind them. On that day, things will go very poorly for whoever is on the receiving end of the millions of “little pop guns” we own. Of course, that’s exactly why we resist letting the anti-gun lobby decide what weapons we can and can’t own…

And if you WERE serious, then it’s YOUR name that should be on a list. Anyone who would openly support classifying gun-owning American citizens Terrorists and killing them and their families with drones if they refuse to comply with a tyrannical government’s unconstitutional order to relinquish their weapons is CLEARLY an enemy of freedom and democracy.

Hey #32, Our Country was founded by defeating the greatest military power in the world at that time ( Great Britain ) with nothing but small arms and fighting for the Right cause. More recently, the North Vietnamese and the Afghani’s have done a great job against the World’s only Super Power with predominantly small arms and guerilla tactics. I believe the Afghan conflict is the longest in U.S. History.

Initially, many American’s will start out paralyzed by fear as a couple of Hundred ATF,FBI,IRS,DHS,TSA, State and local police and possibly military, swarm each house in an effort to intimidate and any resistance will be met with brutal crushing force, meant to “Send a Message” that all hope is useless and anyone paying attention will be met with the same attention. It will not work on us,because we are different,we are Exceptional. That crushing brutal display, will do the opposite. It will be the Final line that the American people will allow to be crossed as the brutality will enrage and galvanize the most heavily armed civilian population in the History of the World into action. People will immediately realize what the future Holds for them if they don’t fight back with everything at their disposal to rid ourselves of this tyranny.

While it might initially start out as a house to house confiscation with hordes of law enforcement.I’ll offer you some Hypothetical scenarios of action that COULD take place against the government and it’s accomplices: It will be quickly met not many day’s after that,by Sniper attacks on a scale the World has not ever seen. “Soft Target’s” and everything that implies, of the people who have been perceived as facillatator’s of our destruction COULD Possibly be Hit. The political, judicial, media, celebrities, government and any law enforcement and military ,who have participated in the with the government and their families, friends and loved ones,COULD be considered fair game along with their property. Those are all very possible scenario’s in a Civil War. Don’t forget, this is not taking place outside a walled fortress in afghanistan, where the Troops can retreat at after a raid and their nearest and dearest and the politicians and Banksters who bankrolled everything are safe back at home. If the government is insane enough to try a Firearms confiscation, the Blowback will be taking place right here. I pray sincerely that it doesn’t Happen. Just leave us alone and in Peace.

Now if the paper wanted to do REAL reporting they would provide a list of all people that carry weapons illegally.

    Lazy bastages.
