A woman at Occupy Vancouver was found dead on Saturday. She apparently died of a drug overdose. She was in her 20′s.
The Newsvine reported, via Orbusmax:
A woman at the Occupy Vancouver camp died Saturday after being discovered in an “unresponsive” condition, police say. A Canadian protest organizer said it appeared to be due to a drug overdose.
The cause of death has not been determined but there is no evidence to indicate foul play, police said.
The woman in her 20s was found in a tent by another protester. Paramedics took her to a hospital where she was pronounced dead, Vancouver police said in a statement.
Lauren Gill, an organizer at the camp, said the woman apparently died of a drug overdose.
She said the death highlights the need for more addiction services because drugs are such a big issue in the city.
Gill, who is running as an independent in this month’s city elections, said that as an outreach worker in mental health and addiction services, she has seen far too many overdose deaths.
On Saturday, tensions seem to be growing at the site, where one television camera operator was knocked to the ground and some protesters began hassling reporters.
On Monday a protester was found dead in his tent at Occupy Oklahoma City. Organizers referred to the man as “Street Poet,” a homeless man. The camp organizers provided him with food, clothing and shelter at the camp where he died.

Dejavu seems like this happen before. So many incidents and drug induced that they are all meshing into one another. If we are getting this information should Obama and Pelosi.
Are the really enablers. Seems all the signs are there for the rest of us to see that these two lawmakers are leading a nation into the fire and brimstone.
Incompetents love to spend tax payers money on a waste of law enforcement time. The police need to be thanked after this circus is over. And again every person who has said this is a wonderful way for America to express their opinions. RIGHT! just like the Tea Party.

Dear God, that is a definite Liberal. More services. More money, ours in fact. I am sick of the irresponsible parenting in the nation. Kids are in their rooms at night or crawling out the window to get with the slugs called friends. They have no real family unit and those who know this person like a teacher had to know there was a problem while she was growing up.
So, then we have to take care of the problem. Sure, I am sadden she died this way but who were the enablers, here. And why is it parents ignore their children.
Now, their daughter is gone forever, what a shame.

What about checking what is going on inside the tents. Do they need a warrant? Is the tent like a home and it would be unlawful for them to enter without just cause.

I am not so harsh. It was somebodys daughter and I grieve for them. I take issue when the survivors make it out to be MY fault because we didnt spend enough money on addiction rehab

It’s very unfortunate that so many people are so quick to judge a persons passing based on a politcal themed back drop.
I knew this “girl” you all refer to. Contrary to what many of you may picture in your head, she was not a junkie. Nor a bum. Nor a loser.
She was a smart, young, vibrant individual.
She was somebody’s daughter. She was somebody’s best friend. She was somebody’s little sister.
I don’t really care what side of these protests you allign yourself to. You want to talk about that, then by all means. But to say such hurtful and ignorant things about a person you’ve never met speaks volumes of your character.
I hope you all feel very good about yourselves. Heckling a young womans death.

Eamse… interesting to hear that she wasn’t a junkie. So basically, additional rehab services provided by the govt really would have done nothing for her. And this death doesn’t highlight the need for addiction services since she wasn’t addicted.

I’ve spent some time down at the Vancouver Art Gallery camp reading signs,listening to meetings and trying to understand the people there. These people have nothing constructive to add to conversation. Many can’t even string ideas together into meaningful arguments. Drug use is everywhere evidently and the whole place looks little better than a garbage dump. Time to clean the park and get on with life in Vancouver.
