Six people, including a five-year-old girl, were injured in a mass shooting in Baltimore, Maryland, on Saturday night.

Police were called to Spaulding and Queensberry Avenues at approximately 8:45 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found six victims — including the child who had been shot in the hand.

Police Commissioner Richard Worley said the child is not seriously injured and is expected to recover.

“Thankfully, it doesn’t appear that [the girl’s] injury is very serious,” Worley said during a press conference.

Five of the victims, including a 23-year-old woman and three men aged 32, 33, and 52, have non-life-threatening injuries, according to a report from Fox News.

The sixth victim, a 38-year-old man, is in critical condition. He has since undergone surgery at a nearby hospital.

The identities of the victims have not been made public at this time.

The victims were reportedly hanging out outside and eating crabs when the shooting began. No motive has been publicly revealed.

“Both our homicide and district detective units are on the scene,” Worley told the media. “We have very little information at this point. All we know is there’s multiple rounds fired, multiple victims.”

No suspects have been arrested or publicly identified.

“The detectives are going to be at the hospital questioning any of our possible victims and any possible witnesses … to see what we can piece together and find out what happened here tonight,” Worley said. He believes the victims may have been targeted.

Maryland maintains some of the strictest gun laws in the United States, but that hasn’t stopped it from being one of the states with the highest amount of gun violence. There were over a dozen murders reported in the city in June alone.

The Baltimore Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the anonymous Metro Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-866-7LOCKUP or the homicide unit at 410-396-2100.
