The Drudge Report posted a banner headline Friday shortly after noon EST proclaiming a deal has been reached to reopen the government: “Source: Shutdown Agreement Reached; Announcement Set for 1 p.m.; Govt to Reopen ‘Temporarily’.”
The report of a deal comes as air traffic controllers staged an apparent sickout at several airports Friday prompting the FAA to temporarily shut down flights at LaGuardia in New York City and airports in Newark and Philadelphia.
The Rose Garden at the White House is being set up for an expected 1 p.m. announcement by President Trump, with staffers telling reporters they don;t know what he will say.
