Carl DeMaio was orphaned when he was 14. He was taken in by Jesuits and earned his way to Georgetown University. After college, Carl founded two successful businesses before the age of thirty. He sold the businesses and was elected to San Diego City Council. Now Carl DeMaio is running for Congress.
On Wednesday Carl DeMaio’s San Diego office was vandalized. Computers were destroyed and electrical cords were cut only six days before the primary election.
A break-in at the campaign headquarters of a California Republican congressional candidate on Wednesday has left behind a wreckage of smashed computers and cut cords only six days before the primary.
Police responded to a reports of trespassing at 9:30 a.m. to discover that Carl DeMaio’s San Diego office had been vandalized.
“Almost every cord inside the entire office – phone cords, communications, network cords, power cords – appears to have been cut,” Dave McCulloch, DeMaio’s campaign communications director, said to NBC San Diego.
Computer screens were shattered and laptops flooded with water, leading police to classify the break-in as “no random act of violence” according to McCulloch. No estimate has been reported on the monetary damage to the campaign headquarters.
Speaking to POLITICO’s Campaign Pro ahead of next week’s CA-52 primary, DeMaio said nothing like the intrusion had ever happened to him before in politics.
“We hope to have our communication center back up and operational within 24 hours,” he said. “What happened last night frankly was appalling, but we’re committed … we’re going to get our message out.”
Gee, what are the odds that this destruction was done by radical far left gay activists?
