I know of no law that has saved an innocent citizen from an evil person wishing to do harm. Only equal or greater force at the event can protect.

Banning guns is about giving big government more power.

Seems like the current crop of gun grabbers in congress think they can step on supreme court precedence regarding interpretation of the 2nd ammendment. I do not think any ‘ban’ as described could pass even a lower court challenge.

Meanwhile, now that the governement in NY has decided to allow the records of legal gun owners to be used as a wanted poster by a newspaper, someone involved should sue the state for collecting such information as it is clearly the state’s intent to INFRINGE on those gun owners rights!

Where is the ACLU on this invasion of privacy?

So, will they also establish a Bureau of “weapons design” and require all manufacturers to submit deatailed plans for each new weapon they intend to produce?

Also a Bureau of “pawn shop regulation” to insure no banned weapons are traded or sold?

Somewhee in all this “gun play”, can we just pass a damn budget?

Please publish the entire list, as I believe many more innocuous firearms are there, including semi-auto 22s and pump shot guns.

biden has hinted at tougher standards for background checks. I believe those changes are merely excuses to refuse access by innocent citizens to firearms, and will be a further infringement on our rights.

Most people I’ve talked to aren’t giving their guns up. Gonna be alot more dead people because of the ban, not saving more lives.

  • paul52

Does Barry really want to see an armed insurrection? Who does he think will do the confiscation? Can’t see local or state police getting in on this.

  • paul52

BTW, how many House and Senate Democraps are actual NRA members? Names and numbers, maybe?

  • brian

Nice way to put home grown arms manufacturers out of business eh? keltec (florida), robarms (utah), etc. The house will never go for these type bans, but I’m not sure how to stop the feds. The states have to make decisive moves and make it clear that the Fed is in violation of the contract between the states and the federal government called the US constitution.

After 9/11, the government properly started identifying terrorists and used the information to stop them entering the country/flying on planes/funding terrorism/etc. Now, instead of identifying “mental conditions” that render a person likely to cause a gun related incident, the government is kicking the real cause down the road like a can and ignoring what needs to be done. Did we do away with fertilizer or airplanes after Oklahoma federal bombing or 9/11…no, they are protected. The democrats want votes to stay in control, this talk by the idiot VP is just so much more of his malarky to get votes from liberals, and is a worn out idea that never works, think Chicago. Talk about funding mental health initiatives and people will know you are serious about the root cause of these incidents.

Right on… Also Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, & the list goes on & on!!!!

  • Just the start. If the left takes these guns they will want .22 single shot rifles and .410 pellet guns. Americans must be deprived of any defense.

  • mark1973

Anyone thinking that they are safe because they just have a Bolt action 3 shot deer rifle and revolver think again…Obama’s votes in the past as an Illinois legislator, reveal he doesn’t want American’s having ANY Firearms…Any! He’ll be back later for the rest of them so we have to make a stand now! Also Grassley has signaled in this article that He want to go well beyond any Firearms and start going after knives also. The repubs are fully onboard Obama’s statist agenda that’s why they have stopped none of it.

Let’s remove TAX-PAID SECURITY from ALL politicians. BAN ALL PUBLIC OFFICE HOLDERS whether Elected or Hired or Appointed, all SEIU included, ALL BANNED from owning Weapons of any kind, including BB and Paint Ball and WATER guns, and VIOLENT VIDEO GAMES as well.

Then let’s wait 10 yrs and THEN see what the 15 yr evaluation of that 10 yrs says about the safety and security of politicians.

THEN decide whether CITIZENS should have THEIR means of Self Defense removed.

“Where is the ACLU on this invasion of privacy?”

As is typical with most liberal organizations, they are only interested in protecting the “liberties” and “rights” they hold dear … like the right to an abortion, the right to use filthy language, the right to dehumanize women with pornography, the right to get high, etc….

For whatever reason, they are unable, or unwilling, to give equal weight to the ENTIRE Constitution and Bill of Rights …

“So, will they also establish a Bureau of “weapons design” and require all manufacturers to submit deatailed plans for each new weapon they intend to produce? ”

No, they’ve already decided they don’t want ANY firearms in the hands of the American public. One by one, they will ALL be banned, starting with the manufacturers, and ending with confiscation. How many times does this have to be demonstrated or explained before people wake up and realize what they are trying to do?

“I believe those changes are merely excuses to refuse access by innocent citizens to firearms, and will be a further infringement on our rights….”

    D’ya think? See above …

“Most people I’ve talked to aren’t giving their guns up. Gonna be alot more dead people because of the ban, not saving more lives…”

Don’t know about that, but one thing’s for sure … they’re going to make felons out of a lot of decent Americans because, like you, I don’t see many people who own AR15’s and other such weapons handing them over willingly, even with compensation…

“The states have to make decisive moves and make it clear that the Fed is in violation of the contract between the states and the federal government called the US constitution…”

Like they did with Obamacare? The precedent has been set. The federal government has been ignoring parts of the Constitution for years now, and the people, including the States, have been silent. I see no reason to believe that state lawmakers are going to be any less complacent this time around. They are addicted to federal money, and biting the hand that feeds them just isn’t in the cards. Face it … this plan to usurp the rights and freedoms of the American people has been in the works for a long time folks, and the architects knew exactly what they were doing. They have us by the balls, and they know it…

I’m not trying to be negative here folks… I’m just pointing out the realities of the situation we’re in. I wish I had a clear solution, or some sort of road map that we could follow to defeat these people, but I don’t. Twenty years ago, when people still understood and cared about the Constitution, and we weren’t outnumbered by parasites, illegals, subversives, and anti-American morons, it would be easy to impeach this President and replace him with someone who respected the Constitution, but those days are gone.

We’ve allowed several generations of our children to be indoctrinated with progressive leftist propaganda, and allowed our government to cultivate a huge population of greedy, government dependent parasites. The majority of Americans are now either apathetic, or in full support of this President, and they are going to continue to have their way with us, perfectly legally. Short of an armed revolution, there’s not a damn thing we can do to stop this administration from implementing their agenda, because we simply don’t have the votes we need to impede or impeach this President. He’s a radical ideologue, and at the moment, he has the support of the majority. Until he loses that support, we can’t expect him to be anything but aggressive and hostile toward Conservatives and Constitutionalists…

We’re paying the price for YEARS of apathy and inattention, and there is no quick fix for that. It will take us just as many years to reverse this damage as it took the progressives to cause it, and unfortunately, since THEY aren’t likely to go along quietly like we did, it will probably take much longer, assuming it’s possible at all. Our only hope now is that when the real suffering starts, some of the more mature, intelligent American people will wake up to what has happened, revert back to their roots, and throw their support behind us. Maybe then, we can slam the brakes on this nightmare and turn things around …

One thing is certain … it’s not going to be an easy task, no matter how we try to do it, and trying to do it without the weapons we need to defend ourselves and keep these tyrants in check is simply not an option. If we give up our arms, the game is over …

  • NavySeal

I was taught safety & how to handle a shotgun when I was 7 years old & not one time did anything negative happen.. And no 12 year olds don’t need to drive on a highway but it wouldn’t hurt to put them behind the wheel in a pasture or a old dirt road like I was taught when I was 10.. Teaching gun & vehicle safety at a early age never hurt any kid… So keep your liberal ass in the city where you belong!!

  • Highlander

Leslie, who do you know that LETS a 12-year old shoot without supervision? Moron …

  • Leslie Brillstein #33

Should we let illegal immigrants drive? I’d sooner have 12 year old American children driving cars than illegal immigrants. As far as that goes Obamacare allows people to stay on their parent’s insurance until 26 years old, so why not restrict driving to those 26 and older?

  • Highlander

And, once again, you aren’t fooling anyone Leslie. You people aren’t concerned with our safety, or the type of gun, or the age of the owner, or anything other than the TOTAL ELIMINATION of ALL guns. People like you stick out like a fox in a hen house….

To the rest of you … READ HER COMMENTS. She’s one of several here posting this garbage EVERY DAY, and if you don’t recognize the fact that these people want to see ALL OF OUR GUNS taken from us, then you just aren’t real bright ….

  • shadow

Most people I’ve talked to aren’t giving their guns up.

I don’t know that anybody has asked for people to give them up.

  • Highlander

Multitude, once again, I must explain that, while you are correct in thinking that such politicians SHOULD be removed from office, they won’t be, because at the moment, the majority of the American people seem to LIKE what our politicians are doing for (or to) us. Until that changes, you aren’t going to see anyone removed from office for anything but the most outrageous violations of the law … and I’m still trying to figure out exactly what those violations would be. Murder, treason, and/or dereliction of duty don’t seem to be adequate, so it must have to be something a little more serious …

“The research suggested that when George H. W. Bush was president back in 1989, he used executive order to ban the import of assault weapons using his powers under the Gun Control Act of 1968 that stipulated that legal rifles had to be suitable for sporting purposes. So he did it that way using this 1968 gun control act law.”

Responsible gun ownership, despite kids in the house, and had she not had a gun, she would raped and dead, and her kids we be dead. The liberal news don’t mention numerous stories like this..

Glad AceofSpades picked up on Ben Shapiro’s best argument the other night —

SHAPIRO: This is what I wanted to ask you, Piers, because I have seen you talk about assault weapons a lot, and I have seen Mark Kelly talk about assault weapons. The vast majority of murders in this country that are committed with guns are committed with handguns, they are not committed assault weapons. Are you willing to ban handguns in this country, across this country?

MORGAN: No, that’s not what I’m asking for.

SHAPIRO: Why not? Don’t you care about the kids who are being killed in Chicago as much as the kids in Sandy Hook?

To continue that: If Morgan says he defends the right of people to own handguns because counterveiling considerations demand it — namely, the 2nd Amendment right to bear arms and engage in self-defense — why is Morgan’s acceptance of some murder (due to an important external consideration) praiseworthy whereas a stronger 2nd Amendment advocate’s exact same position, applied to so-called “assault weapons,” is callous and extreme?

In both situations someone is accepting a moral evil (gun deaths) because a related moral good (the right to bear arms) has priority. Morgan draws a line and says on one side of it (his own) are the righteous and the caring, but on the other side of it are the corrupt, the delusional, the paranoid and the muder-coddling. But in fact Morgan’s exception for handguns results in far, far more actual murders than Shapiro’s exception for “assault weapons.” (A category I know doesn’t exactly exist in gun terminology but this is the made-up terminology they’re using.)

And why, do you suppose, neither Barry nor Rahm has done anything about those bloody, deadly weekends that have gone on for YEARS in Chicago? You know, the ones that have made it the MURDER CAPITOL OF THE USA (and world?).

I remember in ’08, CampaigningBarry being asked about one particularly deadly weekend and his response was a pathetic, “We should sit down and talk with the mayor.”

Well, there’s a new mayor now…one of Barry’s best buds…wasn’t Rahm’s more recent response to YET ANOTHER BLOODY WEEKEND, “Keep your killings away from the kids. Do it around the corner or in the alley, but not near the kids.”

You’d almost think they like the dead Chicagoans…hmmm…not so ridiculous a thought when you consider they’ll be very useful when they want to come after handguns.

  • Lim Lynn

I don’t think there exist a list longer than 2 pages since they want to ban Auto rifles, Semi Auto rifles and handguns, Shotguns and Pump action Shotguns.

  • I’ve already sent a hand written letter to Dianne Feinstein and told her that if she was serious about reducing crime, if that was why she wanted all these weapons banned, was to first, take all the guns out of the hands of all the Bloods, Crips and their derivitives and sub groups, and that is in the whole state of California, stop every illegal Mexican alien who would be bringing in guns, dope, whatever, and put an end to all the unnecessary killings that Blacks, Mexican’s, and others are doing in the state of California. Once she’s done with that, and see’s how it is that criminals don’t obey the laws, gun or otherwise, then she will ber able to see how fruitless it is to try to reduce crime, unless she’s prepared to let the cops go and do whatever they have to do in order to stop crime in California, and the violation of taking our 2nd Amendment rights away from law abiding gun owners who aren’t committing any crimes whatsoever other than just buying what they have a right to own.

I doubt I will hear from her, but even if I do I’m sure she’ll reply with some same ‘ol same ‘ol from a old buzzerd of a liberal who we all know she’s a filthy rich *itch from way back. I asked her what kind of gun she carried in that purse of hers and if it will be on the list to. I told her she needs to disarm herself for a week and then she’ll get to feel how we’ll feel from now on if she passes this unConstitutional bill of her’s.

And, yeah, I 1,000% agree with No. 1 Jet Jaguar…………………..about my guns, COME GET ‘EM!!!!!!

imho, AUSONIUS & ABE said it best..

The pure argument (which few have the guts to say and defend
these days) for private weapon ownership was, and still is, so
that a population can remain citizens and not subjects to tyrants.

Run from it if you must, but this was, and still is, the truth. It is not
about hunting, “sporting use”, or the like. Once you buy into these
notions, you get boxed into a corner from which there is no escape.

The argument for possessing modern weapons is simply that those
are what you will face should tyrants wish to “compel” your compliance.

We have an open marxist party which holds the Senate, the White
House, and much of the courts. They are making their plans very clear.
It will not stop with compelling you to purchase health insurance, eat
“right”, drive eco-cars, practice their “approved” religions, and the like.

Marxists in the 20th century murdered tens of millions of their own
citizens who disagreed with them. Why would anyone believe the
21st century marxist will operate any differently?

I wake to a country that I do not recognize.

“This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it.
Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can
exercise their constitutional right of amending it or their revolutionary
right to dismember it or overthrow it.”

    — Abraham Lincoln, 4 April 1861

a False Assault on Assault Weapons

    [Machine Guns Still Illegal

Contrary to what the ad clearly implies, any weapon that can fire 300 rounds per minute remains illegal for civilians to own without specific clearance by the US Department of Justice.

In fact, machine guns have been tightly regulated since the passage of the National Firearms Act in 1934, in the wake of the gangster era. Legal ownership of a machine gun requires an extensive federal background check, fingerprinting, signed clearance from the chief of local law enforcement (such as a county sheriff), a $200 excise tax, and weeks of paperwork. That was true before the assault-weapon ban was enacted in 1994, and it remains true with the expiration of the ban at midnight Sept. 13, 2004.

That’s made clear in a question-and-answer document posted Sept.
13 on the Web site of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and
Explosives (ATF), explaining the effect of the expiration of the assault
    -weapon ban:

ATF: All provisions of the National Firearms Act (NFA) relating
to registration and transfer of machine guns . . . still apply.

in the ad — remains just as illegal as it was before the ban expired.

But it is also a fact that Bush was publicly committed to sign
an extension if Congress passed it, and it was Congress that
    failed to do so.]

    Federal Assault Weapons Ban

[The Federal Assault Weapons Ban (AWB), or Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act, was a subtitle of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, a federal law in the United States that included a prohibition on the manufacture for civilian use of certain semi-automatic firearms, so called “assault weapons”. The 10-year ban was passed by Congress on September 13, 1994, and was signed into law by President Bill Clinton the same day. The ban only applied to weapons manufactured after the date of the ban’s enactment.

The Federal Assault Weapons Ban expired on September 13, 2004, as
part of the law’s sunset provision. There have been multiple attempts
to renew the ban, but no bill has reached the House floor for a vote.

Pump action Shotgun Adam Lanza Newtown School doesn’t take too many casualty since it single bullet shot with every click of the shotgun which only will deliver severe damage. That’s why Socialist Democrat Commie fears death [Militia Patriots fight back] doesn’t stop the criminals from committing crime.

I don’t think Dianne Feinstein would use logical thinking [common sense] and she won’t want to go through troublesome action taken toward Al Qaeda, Muslim Brotherhood and Mexican Drug Cartels Mafia style who were Barack Hussein Obama’s pal for Fast and Furious. She have a very narrow perspective easier to disarm America’s citizens by taking back gun license permit done to James Yeager who later back out from taking down tyrant and dictator.

“Please highlight the “tyrannical government” part…”

Shadow, the “tyrannical government part” is obvious to anyone who can read and comprehend plain English …

“necessary to the security of a free state”

Look up the definition of tyranny you moron … by definition, tyrants deny people their freedom. Shadow, it’s really hard to imagine how anyone could possibly be so unwilling to employ rational, objective thought processes … but dopes like you are living proof that it’s not only possible, but pretty common.

“necessary to the security of a free state”

Oh, so it’s implied. But then what entity does it envision doing the securing? Why that would be the ubiquitous “well regulated militia.” You know, the part you intentionally ignored. So, who, in this phrase, do you suppose does the “regulating?” Government?

And what other situation might the Founding Fathers have foreseen citizens taking up arms? Repelling an invasion? Sure. How about suppressing an insurrection? Probably. Which makes one wonder, in a working republic, where do you draw the line between patriots throwing off the yoke of perceived tyranny and insurrectionists overthrowing a duly elected government?

    Machine Guns Still Illegal

Not illegal, but highly regulated. (there’s that word again).

But that does beg the question, if the 2nd Amendment is as absolute as some would have you believe, how could they be illegal? Or, for that matter, Bazookas, RPGs and Stinger Missiles?

Obama is a low grade moron. There is no way he can disarm this country. He can’t even disarm Chicago – murder town USA. Guns have been banned there of decades, yet every street gang there is armed to the teeth. You could take every firearm you find away, and there exist enough arms left to support an army. The clowns at the FTA have been trying for years to disarm Americans but with no success they (the guns) are well hid. Besides many of us could build arms if we want – it not rocket science. Street gangs call them zip guns. They will do until we take what we want from Obama.

Oh shadow, as with all libs they are godless. These rights are endowed by our creator, God. Libs believe Obama can limit or take these rights, Obama before God. All the back and forth from you to ensure Obama before God.

  • Interesting list. Are these facts or just what you think will be on the list. With over 30 guns in my safe and 3 of them being HI POINTS carbines a 9mm, 40sw and .45acp I never heard of a HI POINT 20 carbine. Makes me think where did you get your facts from. With all of the price gouging ($600-700) guns for $1500-3000) and people posting fictitious facts. Does this really help the real supporters of that second amendment. Facts like fully autos being illegal. Facts are if you pass background check and pay $200 transfer tax you can own just about any deponent ever made. I read some of the comments on line and I think some of us gun owners out there are as stupid as the Obama clan think we are. Weekend rallies at capital buildings. Are they open on weekends. Hunter friends who call NRA members a bunch of gun nuts. People get the facts straight and by the way if you doubt belong to a gun rights group craw back into your closet and shut your. Pie hole.
