Figures. After Tim Scott Announcement – Cries of “Token Black” and “House Negro” Begin

You just knew this was coming.
This morning Indian-American Governor Nikki Haley announced that Rep. Tim Scott would replace Jim DeMint in the US Senate. It didn’t take the racists on the left to accuse Scott of being a “token black” and “house negro.”

Sen. Scott would do well to ignore these people. They are of no consequence whatsoever.

  • ejazzyjeff

Always a damn if you do and a damn if you don’t. If he wasn’t selected then there would be cries of the Republicans being too white.

  • Patty

The word “token”…. A token is an object of value. That is how I will take their irresponsible and idiot comments.

These small minded people have no VALUE OR WORTH in this society. And to give them any mind would devalue my worth.

  • Alana

Their minority people are always real people to be treated with dignity. Ours are always uncle toms.

To the left, skin color doesn’t matter, no matter how much they holler about it. All that matters to them is leftist ideology.

If you don’t have leftist ideology, then you aren’t a real woman, or a real minority. You are stupid, to be reviled, and desreve no dignity. You don’t count.

Only leftist women and minorities are real. Only leftists count.

Truly, the Progressive comments say a great deal about the hate in many a Progressive heart that stems back to the segregation in the deep South perpetrated by Southern Democrats.

The Fascist Progressives can say what they will they can’t erase the past. Specifically, Abe Lincoln was and never could be one of them, and it was Christian believers that forced the end of slavery both here and in England.

    Congratulations MR Scott.

    The word “token”…

I can understand their use of the word token, because their likely thinking is that he’s going to be of no use to them from a liberal POV, and that assessment is probably pretty accurate.

  • ★FALCON★

The part about the GOP earning no votes with this selection essentially confirms what many have already said; blacks, for the most part, are Marxists who think it’s the government’s job duty to steal from one class and give it to them. They believe that because of slavery they’re entitled, although none were actual slaves.

Living off the government teat is the new plantation.

It also illustrates how far we have come from a Constitutional government.

Racist blacks, and there are many, always use these terms to describe a black person who has managed to succeed without sucking off the public teet. Instead of praise for his discipline and hard work, he is subjected to belittling comments and name calling by those who lack his gumption and brains. This pure jealousy disguised to look like political correctness. Mr. Scott should ignore it accordingly.

  • Sam Stone

Yet it is the belief that those on the right are the racist bigots and that belief will continue no matter what.

  • Patty

By their moronic standards why is Jim Clyburn a token for the other side.

OT but still moronic and threatening:

I am repulse by the lack of courage to give with honesty and try to respect others the truth about the Republican party and their position on America’s future and stop this insanity of sitting back and doing nothing. CALL THESE MORONS OUT.

  • Mad Hatter

The so called “open minded” left is anything but. They’re the biggest groups of racists in the country. They’re hung up on skin color, and pre-judged people at will.

The Alinsky left always accuses us what they practice.

  • Tee Dub

If the leftist media, academia, and entertaiment weren’t completely in the tank for the Democrats and liberals, all this hypocracy would have been bleached away by the exposure to light of reason. Instead, these groups have managed to get much of the nation to believe that it isn’t the skin color that makes a person Black, but rather his mentality. Therefore you can discriminate against a Black whose not Black enough, or a woman whose not liberated enough, or a White who thinks too much like white people.

Sounds pretty racist to a reasonable person. But if your bread and butter is perpetuating the racial divide, no intellectual contortions are too crazy to get what you want. Bigotry and racism have their roots in elitism, ignorance, and arrogance – all of which the race hustling liberals have in spades.

Tim Scott’s Statement on NAACP Resolution Condemning Tea Party as “Racist”
    July 13, 2010

Tim Scott, Republican candidate for Congress in South Carolina’s First Congressional District, issued the following statement today:

“I understand that the NAACP, at its annual conference in Kansas City, will vote today on a resolution condemning the Tea Party movement as “racist”. I believe that the NAACP is making a grave mistake in stereotyping a diverse group of Americans who care deeply about their country and who contribute their time, energy and resources to make a difference.”

“As I campaign in South Carolina, I participate in numerous events sponsored by the Tea Party, 9/12, Patriot, and other like-minded groups, and I have had the opportunity to get to know many of the men and women who make up these energetic grassroots organizations. Americans need to know that the Tea Party is a color-blind movement that has principled differences with many of the leaders in Washington, both Democrats and Republicans. Their aim is to support the strongest candidates – regardless of color or background – who will fight to return our country to its Constitutional roots of limited government, fiscal responsibility, and free markets.”

Tim Scott will make a fine Senator, I only wish I had someone of his integrity and moral courage representing me.

  • succotash

The divisivness and hatred in this country is absolutely appalling and I pray we get a LEADER with the moral compass to begin to turn things around.

We already had a preview of the Leftist rants in the thread breaking the news about the appointment.

For people who declaim they are all for diversity they sure don’t react kindly to anyone that shows they believe differently than the Progressive brainwashing. The hippies in the 1960’s/70’s were just as blind to their hypocrisy about being non-conformist by dressing and acting the same.

  • DecentAmerican

To the black Democrat Americans reading this……do you need any,ore evidence at how RACIST liberals are? Why do you wish to associate yourself with the RACIST democrat party? This is the Dem party that founded the KKK, that killed your ancestors, that created Jim Criw laws. The racism continues today!

Do you have any dignity or free will? If you insist on being a Dem, you are clearly stupid, or enslaved,or both. brave Republicans fought during the Civil War to free you from slavery, and me you willfully go back to the Dem plantation?

    How stupid are you?

  • Bobby D

I bet they think they’re just calling a spade a spade.

  • BetseyRoss

Great choice, Nikki. Tim Scott was the correct choice. I wish I had him representing me. Instead I have two insane and hypocritical Democrats. Tim will be taking the slings and arrows of the racist left, but I think he can handle it. He appears to be of strong character and sings the Conservative song. We can’t ask for more than that. Prayers up for Tim to stay strong and do the right thing.

    Hatemonger = progressive.

They openly advocate death to innocent people (on a case by case basis) and throw out racially provocative epithets, like Tootsie Rolls at a parade.

Godspeed & Thank You Mr. Scott

ht Steve Senator Tim Scott introduced by Gov Nikki Haley

Slave narratives and Uncle Tom’s Cabin

[Uncle Tom’s Cabin had a tremendous impact. The character Uncle Tom
is an African American who retains his integrity and refuses to betray his fellow slaves at the cost of his life. His firm Christian principles in the face of his brutal treatment made him a hero to whites. In contrast, his tormenter Simon Legree, the Northern slave-dealer turned plantation owner, enraged them with his cruelty. Stowe convinced readers that the institution of slavery itself was evil, because it supported people like Legree and enslaved people like Uncle Tom. Because of her work, thousands rallied to the anti-slavery cause.]

Why Are We Tearing Down Uncle Tom’s Cabin?

[Uncle Tom’s Cabin was written by a white woman as an anti-slavery tract because of her visit to a plantation and from meeting freed slaves. The book was very close to being a straight ahead manifesto on non-violent resistance. There were a significant number of literate and well-educated blacks in the American Northeast and in Southern and Eastern Canada and there were several black owned Publishing Houses where books were being published by freed slaves as they came north. American literature, published and written by black and white men and women in the late 18th until the late 19th centuries, was crucial to educating the white middle and upper classes on the evils of slavery, and played a key role in starting the American Civil War.]

    “house negroes”

[Even black Democrats will be maligned if they dare step off of the Democratic Party’s political plantation. When black Democrat Juan Williams wrote his book entitled “Enough: The Phony Leaders, Dead-end Movements and Culture of Failure That Are Undermining Black America” that exposed the deplorable conditions in black communities caused by the Democrats running those communities, Williams was denounced on national TV by another black Democrat as a “Happy Negro”.]

[Equally inexplicable is how someone with Sharpton’s professed abhorrence for racial insensitivity could have spent so many years as a strong supporter of the late Khalid Abdul Muhammad, whose vulgar diatribes against whites were too incendiary for even Louis Farrakhan to condone.

Perhaps you remember Mr. Muhammad, who publicly referred to Jews as “slumlords in the black community” who are busy “sucking our [black’] blood on a daily and consistent basis”; who said that Jews had provoked Adolf Hitler when they “went in there, in Germany, the way they do everywhere they go, and they supplanted, they usurped”; who said that blacks, in retribution against South African whites of the apartheid era, should “kill the women, …kill the children, …kill the babies, …kill the blind, …kill the crippled, …kill the faggot, …kill the lesbian, …kill them all”; who praised Colin Ferguson, a black man who had shot some twenty white and Asian commuters (killing six of them) in a racially motivated 1993 shooting spree aboard a New York commuter train, as a hero who possessed the courage to “just kill every goddamn cracker that he saw”; who advised blacks that “[t]here are no good crackers, and if you find one, kill him before he changes”; who told a Donahue television audience in May 1994 that “[t]here is a little bit of Hitler in all white people”; and who characterized black conservatives as “boot licking, butt-licking, bamboozled, half-baked, half-fried, sissified, punkified, pasteurized, homogenized Ni**er[s].”

Perhaps you think that an individual who could utter such filth must be
a hollow-headed racist. Well, Al Sharpton did not think so, not by any
means. In fact, Sharpton actually lauded Muhammad for being nothing
less than “a very articulate and courageous brother.”]

[High on the Democrats’ list of those to be denigrated are accomplished black Republicans who do not toe the Democrats’ liberal agenda line. Shamefully, Democrats do not want poor black children to have as role models any black person who does not engage in victim mongering and works hard to become prosperous rather than become dependent on government handouts.

The message that Democrats gives to poor blacks is despicable. If you remain poor, uneducated and vote for Democrats, we will celebrate your victimhood. If you get a good education, get a good job and vote for Republicans, we will denigrate you as “acting white,” a “sellout”, an “Uncle Tom”, a “House Negro”, a “House N-word”, a “Lawn Jockey”, and worse.

Brazenly, on the left-wing Internet website called “The News Blog,” Democrats posted a doctored photograph of then Maryland Lt. Governor Michael Steele (now chairman of the RNC) when he was running for a Senate seat, depicting Steele as a “Simple Sambo” with a blackened minstrel-style face, nappy hair and big, think red lips. The cartoon caption read: “Simple Sambo wants to move to the big house.” This contemptible racist stereotype is the same one Democrats used to demean black men during the era of slavery and segregation.

In addition to other outrageous racist images of Dr. Condoleezza Rice produced by several Democrats, cartoonist Jeff Danziger depicted Dr. Rice as an ignorant, barefoot “mammy”, reminiscent of the stereotyped black woman in the movie “Gone with the Wind” about the slave era black woman who remarked: “I don’t know nothin’ ’bout birthin’ no babies”. This is the type of racist stereotype Democrats used to demean black women during the era of slavery and segregation.

Democrats now love Gen. Colin Powell, but spewed out racist attacks on Powell before he endorsed Obama and embraced the liberal agenda of higher taxes and a bigger government to provide poverty producing handouts to blacks.]

    Token? Or Conservative? Let’s see:
    -Raised in poverty
-Now owns his own successful business.
    -Strong Christian
    -Pro business
    -Pro life
-Supports a Balanced Budget Constitutional Amendment.
-Proposed a bill in the S.C. State House prevent striking Union workers from collecting unemployment Bennies.
-Called for Obama’s Impeachment for his handling of the the Debt ceiling debacle.
-Refused to join the Congressional Black Caucus when he was elected to the House in 2010.
    Yep. Conservative.

  • Libtards Lie

Very vile and simple minded peope who can only parrot what they are told and have not had an original thought in their head for a long time.

    Congrats to Sen. Scott.

  • Badger Pundit

The racial component of this story, properly viewed, is NOT that the Republicans are somehow engaging in affirmative action in the selection of Scott (none is needed to justify selecting him). Rather, it’s the absence of any Democrat U.S. Senator.

That says something about the polarization and tokenism of the Democrat party, which is focused on maximizing the number of minorities in Congress, which it does by steering its minority stars into gerrymandered, leftist congressional districts in which they compile records that make them almost always unelectable on a state-wide basis.

Various people have addressed this in detail, of course. For example Jamelle Bouie in the March, 2012, American Prospect:

And James Joyner on the “clownish legislators” produced by this system, in which primary campaigns sometimes devolve into a debate about which candidate is blackest, not who’s best (with Harvard Law grad Artur Davis recently losing that competition):

Two ne’er do wells decided to rob a chicken coop. The first stuck his hand in but to his surprise the farmer was there and as he groped around for a chicken to grab the farmer chopped his hand off with an axe. The would-be thief pulled his arm back and placing the bleeding stump under his coat looks at his partner in crime and says “I got mine, now you go get yours”…

I don’t think these people are capable of celebrating the success of another of their group unless it has a payoff for them which is why they will always dis their brothers if they aren’t on the gravy train with them (democrat dole)

Seems to me that Democratic Congresspersons who are elected in carefully constructed gerrymandered seats are the real “tokens.” Tim Scott was elected in a majority white district because his constituents evaluated him by the content of his character (and his positions on issues of concern to them) rather than the color of his skin. So who’s the token?

  • John21

The racist NAACP is already complaining about him and he hasn’t even sat down yet. Their biggist complaint of course is that he is not one of their DNC plantation people.

Therefore not indoctrinated into the proper racial whine as them. They have gone from an organization that did do some good for the blacks of America to being just another part of their DNC masters propaganda engine.
