All of the children murdered yesterday at Sandy Hook Elementary School were aged six and seven. Eight boys and twelve girls were killed in the attack along with six women.
Reuters reported:

The 20 children killed at a Connecticut elementary school on Friday in one of the worst mass shootings in U.S. history were all aged six and seven, according to a list of victims’ names released on Saturday.

The brazen attack, in which a heavily armed 20-year-old gunman forced his way into Sandy Hook Elementary School and shot his victims multiple times, shattered the quiet, suburban community of Newtown, Connecticut.

The state’s chief medical examiner, Dr. H. Wayne Carver II, described the attack that left a total of 28 people dead, including the shooter and his mother, “the worst I have seen.”

…All the shootings he was aware of were committed with a rifle, Carver said.

The dead included eight boys, 12 girls, and six women aged 27 to 56, authorities said.

“All the wounds that I know of at this point were caused by the long weapon,” Carver said.

The list of names released did not include the shooter, identified by law enforcement sources as Adam Lanza, or his mother, who Carver confirmed was killed nearby.

He thought of them as objects. He needed help and it seems that he didn’t receive the help he needed.

  • MSO

The only rifle, an M4 clone, was found in the shooter’s car and was not used in the school. I suspect that there may be some loose terms used in the reports.

There were approximately 3,000 babies killed in their mother’s wombs since the Lanza massacre; let’s mourn those as well.

  • Stella Baskomb

Here in Ct, it’s being reported that each child that was killed had multiple gunshot wounds, one had 11.

There has always been evil in the world and until the return of our Lord, there always will be. We must always be mindful that there are those who seek to destroy what God has given; Life.

The familys’ pain can only be truly known by those who have suffered through the same horrendous event. The rest of us hurt for those left behind who must face each day without their little ones. God bless and comfort them in their hours of need.

I wonder if any kids from that class were absent and I wonder if any kid wanted to stay home and the parent make them go.
It’s what the parents will be thinking the rest of their lives.

Time to stop showing photos of the killer and using his name.

May his name be blotted out forever.

the motive is obviously that 0bama was going to eat adam’s pets… there obviously needs to be a ban on liberals owning pets…

…for they can’t risk the offchance that the liberal might be retarded.. and accidentally mistake the animal for a sandwich or some other type of food source then scarf it down whole upsetting a relative or somebody …and causing these killing spree’s to happen. 😀

  • George

How was the rifle found in the car if it was used for the killing? Was he making trips to and from his car during the murder spree?

  • Jack Burton

You want to know why this happened? Because of the liberal horsecrap that everyone’s opinion and life choices are fine. Bull$hit, it’s time to go back to the day that if a kid is acting like a loser, he or she gets treated like a problem child and not just a lost soul looking for a place in life.

    Movie Violence Can Overwhelm Children

A new paper in the peer-reviewed journal Pediatrics documents the alarming numbers of young adolescents age 10-14 who are exposed to graphic violence in movies rated R for violence.

They found that these extremely violent movies were seen by an average of 12.5 percent of an estimated 22 million children age 10-14. One R-rated movie, Scary Movie, was seen by an estimated 10 million children, or about 48 percent of 10-14 year olds.

“Our data reveal a disturbingly high rate of exposure among 10-14 year olds nationally to extremely violent movies,” says Keilah Worth, the lead author on the study and a post-doctoral fellow at Dartmouth Medical School and at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center’s Norris Cotton Cancer Center.

“In Britain, no adolescent would be admitted to these movies unless they were 18. The R rating in this country is clearly not preventing our young people from seeing them.”

written some time ago….not that long ago, appropriate for our troubling times with our children.

Rahm Wants New Gun Laws in Wake of Newtown School Shooting

He already has numerous hoops to go through already. The only thing left for the wimp to do is no guns at all. LET’S SEE HOW THAT ONE FLIES.

    Arming Campus Cops is Elementary
Nearly two years ago, I wrote an article called Arming campus cops is elementary. Not surprisingly, Grossman agrees with that hypothesis.

“Never call an unarmed man ‘security’,” Grossman said.

“Call him ‘run-like-hell-when-the-man-with-the-gun-shows-up’ but never call an unarmed man security. Imagine if someone said, ‘I want a trained fire professional on site. I want a fire hat, I want a fire uniform, I want a fire badge. But! No fire extinguishers in this building. No fire hoses. The hat, the badge, the uniform — that will keep us safe — but we have no need for fire extinguishers.’ Well, that would be insane. It is equally insane, delusional, legally liable, to say, ‘I want a trained security professional on site. I want a security hat, I want a security uniform, and I want a security badge, but I don’t want a gun.’ It’s not the hat, the uniform, or the badge. It’s the tools in the hands of a trained professional that keeps us safe.

“Our problem is not money,” said Grossman. “It is denial.”

Grossman said (and most cops agree) that many of the most important things we can do to protect our kids would cost us nothing or next-to-nothing.

    Grossman’s Five D’s
In the next installment of this series, I will explore what follows in much greater detail, but for now, let’s contemplate the following outline and summary of Dave Grossman’s “Five D’s.” While you do, I encourage you to add in the comments area below your suggestions to address, and expand upon, these ideas.

    1. Denial — Denial is the enemy and it has no survival value, said Grossman.

    2. Deter — Put police officers in schools, because with just one officer assigned to a school, the probability of a mass murder in that school drops to almost zero

    3. Detect — We’re talking about plain old fashioned police work here. The ultimate achievement for law enforcement is the crime that didn’t happen, so giving teachers and administrators regular access to cops is paramount.

    4. Delay — Various simple mechanisms can be used by teachers and cops to put time and distance between the killers and the kids.

    a. Ensure that the school/classroom have just a single point of entry. Simply locking the back door helps create a hard target.
    b. Conduct your active shooter drills within (and in partnership with) the schools in your city so teachers know how to respond, and know what it looks like when you do your response.

    5. Destroy — Police officers and agencies should consider the following:

    a. Carry off duty. No one would tell a firefighter who has a fire extinguisher in his trunk that he’s crazy or paranoid.
    b. Equip every cop in America with a patrol rifle. One chief of police, upon getting rifles for all his officers once said, “If an active killer strikes in my town, the response time will be measured in feet per second.”
    c. Put smoke grenades in the trunk of every cop car in America. Any infantryman who needs to attack across open terrain or perform a rescue under fire deploys a smoke grenade. A fire extinguisher will do a decent job in some cases, but a smoke grenade is designed to perform the function.
    d. Have a “go-to-war bag” filled with lots of loaded magazines and supplies for tactical combat casualty care.
    e. Use helicopters. Somewhere in your county you probably have one or more of the following: medivac, media, private, national guard, coast guard rotors.
    f. Employ the crew-served, continuous-feed, weapon you already have available to you (a firehouse) by integrating the fire service into your active shooter training. It is virtually impossible for a killer to put well-placed shots on target while also being blasted with water at 300 pounds per square inch.
    g. Armed citizens can help. Think United 93. Whatever your personal take on gun control, it is all but certain that a killer set on killing is more likely to attack a target where the citizens are unarmed, rather than one where they are likely to encounter an armed citizen response.

Did massacre gunman make internet threat the day before Sandy Hook massacre?

An eery post on an Internet message board made Wednesday night by a user allegedly in Connecticut who threatened to kill himself on Friday morning and ‘make the news,’ is raising some questions as to whether it was Newtown Elementary School shooter Adam Lanza.

According to, the post appeared on the 4Chan web site at 10:18pm Wednesday and was made by a user with the user name ‘iKTatjYX.’

The post stated, ‘I’m going to kill myself on Friday and it will make the news, be watching at 9am.’

White House Gun Control Petition Quickly Surpasses Required Signature Count

An online petition calling on the White House to immediately address the issue of gun control quickly surpassed the required number of signatures Friday, hours after the Connecticut elementary school massacre.

“The goal of this petition is to force the Obama Administration to produce legislation that limits access to guns,” the petition states in part. “While a national dialogue is critical, laws are the only means in which we can reduce the number of people murdered in gun related deaths.”

Petitions on the White House’s “We the People” online petition site require 25,000 signatures within a month to garner an official administration response. The petition met that goal Friday evening; by Saturday morning it had reached more than 68,000 signatures.

“Powerful lobbying groups allow the ownership of guns to reach beyond the Constitution’s intended purpose of the right to bear arms,” the petition states. “Therefore, Congress must act on what is stated law, and face the reality that access to firearms reaches beyond what the Second Amendment intends to achieve.”

White House press secretary Jay Carney on Friday demurred on the issue of gun control, saying it was a day to mourn, not to pursue policy.

“There is — I am sure will be, rather — a day for discussion of the usual Washington policy debates, but I do not think today is that day,” Carney said.

Speaking about the shooting later on Friday, President Barack Obama vowed to take “meaningful action” to prevent more such tragedies from taking place in the future.

They say we have an unemployed former soldier problem. Put them in schools, highly trained patriotic Americans.

    Solve two problems

  • Interesting comment from the ME about all the wounds being caused by a rifle…..because Fox News reported this, yesterday and today (at this link:

“The vehicle the suspect drove to the school was registered to his mother. At least three guns were found — a Glock and a Sig Sauer, both pistols, inside the school, and a .223-caliber rifle in the back of a car, authorities said.

So, if the wounds were caused by a rifle, how did it wind up in the back of Nancy Lanza’s car?

Has anyone seen Rasputin lately? I have just by looking into this ‘killers’ eyes.

  • Fuquay Steve

We’ve been told that the repubs need to abandon the social conservatives in order to ‘win’. ‘They’ cry out that the repubs can never win with a group that believes in ‘Thou shalt not kill’ and other old fashioned neanderthal ‘laws’. In fact, as we will see shortly, the repubs think they can improve that law. Oh the audacity and the hubrus. Good luck with that.

  • C

Yes, aspbergers can be violent. We also need to stop candy coating mental illness and tgrying to turn them into hollywood versions of what they are

  • olm

    Anyone can be violent.
Aspbergers or not. I’ll add another problem to the pot of problems in this bizarre melting pot of issues. This comes from 20+ years special ed experience.
The trend in schools is to not call a spade a spade. For example, The autism spectrum allowed for more kids to be diagnosed as on the spectrum but for better or worse (worse, imo) it allowed for more conditions or characteristics to be lumped under one umbrella. So, for an example in a high functioning case, all kinds of weird traits can be attributed to the spectrum which may or may not be. AND we have made autism or spectrum disorders a commonly acceptable idea so that parents can latch on to the diagnosis to explain oddities. If this kid were indeed taken out of school and homeschooled, it is indicative of what I’m trying to get at.
I am not dissing homeschool, special ed or Autism. I am talking a cold hard reality.
