It’s a big effing deal.
This week, Chris McMurray, owner of Crumb & Get It Cookie Company, a bakery in southwestern Virginia, took issue with the president’s recent “you didn’t build that” comment to small business owners in Roanoke, VA.
The Stop The HIT Coalition video highlights how the $87 billion HIT hurts bakeries’ ability to grow and build their business.

From the video: March 23, 2012 marks the two-year anniversary of the signing of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), which includes the HIT hidden within the pages of the law. The tax will take effect in 2014, costing small businesses nationwide $87 billion by the end of this decade.

To demonstrate the bottom line impact that the HIT will have on small businesses across the country, this video walks through the costs – using a bakery as an example of one of America’s most celebrated small businesses.

  1. This ad is very clever. A slight tad too long, but on the whole, quite well done. Bravo!

  2. Awesome vid. . .

It also did not show that owner and others have to spend more in income tax under Obama. .

and let’s not forget the fact that gas prices rising due to Quantitative Easing and so ingredients will rise each and every year. . . so in 3-5 years, this bakery will be downsized or out of business completely, leaving a vacant storefront on main street.

Now that is a picture all will understand. . . ghost towns of former small businesses. . just drive around and see all the stores boarded up in strip malls everywhere.

Time for Change. . .NObama in NOvember

  4. One of the best ads ever to very clearly explain the impact of this destructive tax. It needs to go viral. Pass it around.

    Thanks for posting, Jim.

  5. Vote for Republican Conservatives in November to get Obamacare repealed. Then, the HIT (as well as the other 21 taxes included in Obamacare that will be passed on to the middle class ) will be gone!

  6. FAB-U-LOUS.

Keep breaking the message down to “kitchen table” or “small business” economics.

  7. Response to #7 JoyO

Not to mention the loss of the Chicago criminal element in Axelrod, Jarrett, Holder et al. Geez, just think, a clean cut, God fearing, loyal, hard working, smart, supportive of small business group of people, who will probably select similar types to their cabinet. What a concept!

  8. Liberal reaction:

*Sound of liberal playing bongo drum**another sound of a long toke on a medicinal marijana bong*……*coughs*…….Dude, the greedy baker made a million bucks, what a greedy piece of garbage that 2%er is!!!

Friggin greedy people!!….*sounds of running feet up the basement stairs*……..MOM!…Whats for dinner!!

  9. Fantastic Ad — didn’t even need the audio to realize its impact.

Barry won’t want Americans to see it. SO MAKE IT GO VIRAL.

  10. Do ya’ll remember when Hillary Clinton famously said during her very ill fated Hillary Care Big Government takeover oh healthcare back in her husband’s first term ….”We can’t be responsible for every undercapitalized small business in America”

Or do you remember when – early in her days as Obama’s Secretary of State – when she said “Heck – in America we tax anything that moves?”

I tell you – she and Obama and Reid and Pelosi and all the Democrat Big Government/Big Tax folks do not have a freaking clue about what small businesses (especially those entities with less than 50 employees – you know – the Mom and Pops type businesses any one here might work for ….those who are NOT working somehow for Big Government and the powerful government unions….

Democrats – in their very hearts – believe that government can create jobs.

Any one else knows that jobs and job creation is a much more complex endeavor (unless they just line up to take Joe Biden’s Stimulus money to create fake jobs)…..

Did WalMart get any stimulus money? Did McDonald’s or any other of the fast food joints that have become so “politically incorrect” but that still continually employ and train many fast food service workers?

Good Grief. Time to STAND OUR GROUND and understand how this American President has been one of the most onerous and evil forces against small entrepreneurship in our American memory.

Why republic’s fate really does hang on election

[All of which is to say, this election is not merely about jobs or deficit
spending or fixing Medicare, as the Romney-Ryan ticket would have us
believe. Such blinkers only lull the electorate into complacency and,
worse, preserve the Obama machine’s politics-as-usual cover.

Election 2012 is anything but politics as usual. It is an existential crisis.
For many reasons, I would vote for my dog over Obama-Biden, not least
of which is that she always warns me of danger. Romney-Ryan must find
the courage and love of country to do the same.]

    Amen..
