The Republican Party did not slot Sarah Palin, arguably the most popular conservative in the country, to speak at the convention this year in Tampa.
Too bad. Nobody delivers a speech like Sarah Palin.

Reuters reported:

Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will not speak at the Republican nominating convention in Tampa later this month, she said in statement on Sunday.

“This year is a good opportunity for other voices to speak at the convention and I’m excited to hear them,” Palin, who was Senator John McCain’s running mate in the 2008 election, said in a statement on Gretawire, the blog of Fox News’s Greta Van Susteren.

“Everything I said at the 2008 convention about then-candidate (Barack) Obama still stands today, and in fact the predictions made about the very unqualified and inexperienced community organizer’s plans to ‘fundamentally transform’ our country are unfortunately coming true,” Palin said.

She said she supports Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his running mate, Congressman Paul Ryan, and intends to focus on grassroots efforts to rally independents and the Republican base to elect Senate and House members “so a wise Congress is ready to work with our new president to get our country back on the right path.”

On August 30 at the convention, Romney will formally accept the Republican nomination to challenge Democratic President Obama in the November 6 election.

UPDATE: Sarah Palin released a statement on the Republican Convention on Sunday night.

  1. An exceptionally smart move . . .

  2. Uh, where does it say the GOP didn’t allow her to speak at the convention? Is it possible Palin decided by herself not to speak and focus on Congress/Senate candidates?

  3. The Liberals have enough cannon fodder they don’t need any more. I am a supporter of Governor Palin but I don’t see how her presence whips up the Conservative base any more than it already is.

  4. Yeah well I can understand that. With Paul Ryan in the spotlight, Sarah needs to step back a bit.

  5. Sarah is a great woman and an important motivator for conservative Republicans. She is also a reminder of a failed campaign and not part of this one. This is the Romney/Ryan campaign and it must be forward looking with fresh faces. I don’t blame Sarah for anything and I am sure she will support the Romney/Ryan ticket in the trenches where it counts.

  6. I like Sarah, but she had her turn in the spotlight, the Republicans need new blood, and they’ve got it in Paul Ryan.

I must say I am disappointed that Jeb Bush is going to be speaking, talking about cannon fodder. They should dump Jeb for Allen West.

    God Bless You Sarah!!

i’ll be listening right along with you..

can’t wait to hear Trumps surprise announcement..

  8. It is sadder to me that John McCain IS speaking than that Palin is not speaking. Ditto for Jeb Bush and Condi “Nothing in this president’s methods suggests this president is other than a defender of America’s interests” Rice.

  9. Big mistake! Palin can move the Tea Party supporters like nobody else…..and this is a group that RINO Romney desperately needs to put an X beside his name in Nov.

How afraid Romney and the Old Boys Club are of Sarah Palin. How ironic that the woman they must keep at the sideline of the Party has such control of their political lives.

I do hope Paul Ryan signals the end of the Bush dynasty controlling the Republican Party.

  10. Palin is such a class act and is the left’s worse nightmare and why they never stop trying to destroy her. .

It is a shame she won’t introduce Ryan and paint the picture of Obama as a Failure. . .

It would have been awesome if a surprise guest is the keynote speaker to introduce Ryan. . .

A keynote speaker who knows what it is like to be a VP nominee
A keynote speaker that knows what it is like to do a budget (or take the trash out)
A keynote speaker who connects with America’s conservative values and honors our Constitution for limited Federal Government
And a Keynote speaker who knows how MSM and the left will attack the nominee and family to no end to support Obama

Yes. .Palin would be the icing on the cake and help draw distinctions and parallels for America to see including playing video excerpts of Ryan in action like #3′s link. . excerpts of Ryan making sense and making obama look the fool!

And have Palin walk out while playing:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XZWgHNcUeA

    And have her Say
“America. . .You Just Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet. . .”

And repeat those lines as Ryan takes the Stage. .

Then by your logic, McCain should not be speaking either. Bit transparent there, aren’t you.

  12. Sarah is a class act. I still wanna see Mama Grizz tear up liberal backsides though.

  13. Same-old RHINOs Jeb, Condi, McLame, Christi. In-your-face Tea Party. Forget Sarah Palin. We’ve got our old RHINOs because you have a choice. LOL.

Maybe Paul Ryan can do something as VP & we can control Romney with a new Senate. Right? I keep telling myself that my vote really matters. Does it? Really, does it matter?

  15. Once again the GOP Elite show their dislike for regular hard working, God fearing Americans.

  16. Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will not speak at the Republican nominating convention in Tampa later this month, she said in statement on Sunday.

There’s nothing wrong with laying low for a while.

  17. Governor Palin has no problem with that. She still has influence and everyone who has a brain is worried about removing Obama. Who Cares.
