Thanks Barack!… China Poised to Cut $15.1 Billion Oil Deal With Canada

Thanks to Barack Obama and Democrats the Canadian government is finalizing a $15.1 billion oil deal with China.

The Keystone Pipeline project was expected to create tens of thousands of high paying jobs in the oil industry. The project itself would create 20,000 construction jobs. And the pipeline would bring oil from Canada and North Dakota to refineries in the United States.

But it was just a big pipe dream. Obama rejected the plan.

Now China and Canada are finalizing a $15.1 billion oil deal.

When President Barack Obama blocked the Keystone Pipeline, Republicans said the move would encourage Canada to pursue oil deals with China instead of the United States and cede a massive chunk of North American oil assets to the communist nation.

Now, with China’s state-run oil company CNOOC poised to cut a $15.1 billion deal–the largest ever foreign acquisition for a Chinese company–with Canadian oil company Nexen, Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) and Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) are in full backpedal mode.

In a draft letter to the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), Sen. Schumer writes:

I respectfully urge you, in your capacity as chairman of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), to withhold approval of this transaction to ensure U.S. companies reciprocal treatment.

Similarly, Rep. Pelosi is now sounding alarms of concern. In a statement, Pelosi spokesperson Drew Hamill said:

This deal prompts great concern about the Chinese government’s continued attempts to use its state-owned enterprises to acquire global energy resources.

Once again, thanks to Democrats, America is getting the shaft.
But at least they kept their donors happy.

More… Chuck Schumer, who voted against Keystone, told Saudi Arabia to up its production.

I think aligning with China is a mistake for Canada. China is one of our prophetic enemies. It is unfortunate the U.S. people put a foreigner over them whose goal is to make sure the U.S. is unable to function – no oil production, no coal production, no way to hold her own.

Oh c’mon guys, according to Obama math “that’s only uh, a, uh, a billion dollars a year…………for the next fourteen or fifteen years.”

So you can see it’s chump change. We just need more wind mills and solar panels. We can train prairie dogs to run on tread mills when there’s no wind. You don’t even have to pay ‘em……much.

I did read part of an article on another conservative site that talked about Keystone XL still possibly going through.

I think people can wait a couple months to see if Romney wins. Policy turns on a dime after that and we can kick that Salazar idiot with his own boot right out of town. Then he can give the cowboy hat back to the rodeo monkey he stole it from and put Palin in there (wishful thinking).

Joanne, the market despises a void. We are the most logical customer for this oil, but since we are governed by the most illogical regime in this nations history, we have forgone our opportunity to purchase this oil. The Chinese are the next largest consumer of oil and do not have their own reserves, so they are the next most logical customer. So they get the oil and the future economic growth it will create. Not to mention provide their military with gas and jet fuel. Someday in the future, an American soldier will be crushed under a Chinese tank powered by oil that Barack Obama basically sold to them.

Stephen Harper is a brilliant man, an economist and a real conservative. He’s also a rare breed of politician who means what he says and says what he means. When he said he would sell to China if the pipeline wasn’t approved, there was never a doubt in my mind that that’s exactly what he would do. It’s his JOB to look after the economic interests of Canada, not wait around waiting for the US to play its stupid political games. He’s not a glory hog, in fact, he never wanted to run for Prime Minister, but did it because his country needed him.

Another thing most of you wouldn’t know about Mr. Harper is that he was, through a series of events I won’t detail here, largely responsible for changing what used to be the “Progressive Conservative Party of Canada” to the “Conservative Party of Canada” — a change in both name and philosophy that has served Canadians well over the past several years.

He’s a quiet, family guy with a brilliant mind, and the Cdn media calls him “boring” (after several years of trying unsuccessfully trying to label him as ‘dangerous radical’).

Obama could learn a thing or two from Mr. Harper.

I might also add that P.M. Harper has been to Afghanistan several times to visit the troops outside the wire and is a staunch supporter of Israel. I look forward to President Romney and P.M. Harper meeting…they have a lot in common, I think.

I’m sure the Saudi’s have listened very carefully to Schumer’s instructions to increase their oil production. Somebody should remind the esteemed Senator from New York that he’s…um…Jewish…
