Billy Graham Expressess Support for Chick-fil-A

Rev. Billy Graham expressed his support for Truett and Dan Cathy, the president of Chick-fil-A, and their stand for the Christian faith.
WND reported:

Rev. Billy Graham, at 93 the senior statesman among Christian leaders in America, says he’s rooting for his longtime friends, the Cathy family, in a nasty public blowup over their religious beliefs.

“I want to express my support for my good friends Truett Cathy and his son Dan Cathy, and for their strong stand for the Christian faith,” he said in a statement released by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

“I’ve known their family for many years and have watched them grow Chick-fil-A into one of the best businesses in America while never compromising their values. Chick-fil-A serves each of its customers with excellence, and treats everyone like a neighbor. It’s easy to see why Chick-fil-A has become so popular across America,” he said.

Over the past few days, the Henson Co., creator of the Muppets characters, said it no longer would work with Chick-fil-A. The mayor of Boston publicly bashed the restaurant chain. Chicago officials said they would not want the company to operate in their wards. And “kiss-in” protests were announced in front of company outlets on college campuses.

Franklin Graham expressed his support for Governor Mike Huckabee and his call for a National Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day on Wednesday, August 1, to demonstrate support for the company.

EUGENE VOLOKH: Chicago Alderman: I Will Deny Business Permit Because ‘There Are Consequences for [Its Owner’s] Statements and Beliefs,’ and They Should Include Denial. “This is just appalling.” Well, it’s Chicago.

The Alderman should be glad the owners of Chik-Fil-A are forgiving Christian types. If I owned Chik-Fil-A, I’d file a lawsuit that would ruin him. And hire private investigators to look into his finances, because there’s only one way that ends for a Chicago Alderman. . . .

But I guess that’s why people like to pick on those forgiving Christian types. It’s safer.

As usual, Huckabee is a day late and a dollar short. I think people that despise the left immediately went out and starting supporting them right after the fit hit the shan. Went there yesterday and enjoyed my sammich and waffle fries.

if there’s a Tea Party in Northern Illinois then there will lines out the door every day 16/6 and will drain the store supplies every day until every other fast food franchise forces Deadfish to pull it back, a Republican is elected Mayor of Chicago, Maobama is perp-walked to jail… or, Kingdom Come-
    whichever comes first.

Just another Obama diversion. He’d rather have the people talking about the president of Chick-Fil-A’s personal opinion on something than have them focused on the economy.

Wow, liberals admit corporations are people. I wish some enterprising reporter would ask one of these Chick-Fil-A hating liberals something like “so, you agree with Mitt Romney that corporations are people?” so we could watch their heads explode.

I know I’m going to take some heat, but here goes. I do support Chick-Fil-A and paid a visit there yesterday for the first time. I found their cole slaw to be very good. But my chicken strips. Not so much. Tasted like they were cooked in oil that had turned rancid and they weren’t crispy.

I suppose alot of people have not had southern fried chicken. You know, chicken fried in hot lard (nowadays we use Crisco) in a cast iron skillet.

I’ll give them another try Aug 1st, but if the results are the same it will be my last visit.

  • Patty

Such a wonderful man and wonderful father.

Franklin Graham and all his wonderful works. Just simply amazing!!

  • I say we boycott NBC but not because some jack ass refuses to support Chick-Fil-A’s right to free speech, but because NBC led the way in pushing the homosexual agenda. Come to think of it we may not have to boycott NBC. Their ratings are already in the toilet.

One more thing, any homosexual who comes out should be boycotted. His or her filth should be kept out of the ears and eyes of children and adults as well. Why do we have to hear about their insanity? Why must my day be interrupted with horrible images of sick personalities doing what homosexuals do with and to one another?

In my home Anderson Cooper and his kind are unwelcome. He can come out if he likes but that does not mean that he is not in trouble morally and psychologically. Just because homosexuals are putting their problem on display does not mean that they are not deeply disturbed people.

In my home when a come-outer appears on television we change the channel which includes Obama who according to Newsweek is our first Gay President.

I hear that the APA is re-considering its definiton of pedophilia.

Thank you Obama and NBC, and CBS, and ABC.

Boston Mayor Says “No” To Chick-Fil-A, But Gave Tax Dollars To Mosque Teaching “Death To Gays”

Given his stance on Chick-fil-A, would Mayor Tom Menino grant permits to a group that has counted among its leaders a man who has repeatedly called homosexuality a “crime that must be punished” by death? Actually, he has done that  . . . and more! Menino effectively gave away city land valued at $1.8 million to the organization, and he gave a speech at its ribbon-cutting ceremony. ItÂ’s the Islamic Society of BostonÂ’s mosque, and when it comes to anti-gay sentiment, one of its early supporters makes Chick-fil-A look like the Provincetown MenÂ’s Chorus. During the (understandable) controversy over the city selling land for…

Obama losing a majority … who think he’s a Christian

President Obama is struggling to get to 50% — not just of voters in November — but of Americans, at any time, who will recognize that he is a Christian.

The Pew Research Center’s Forum on Religion and Public Life released a survey Thursday showing that just 49% of Americans described the president as a Christian, while 17% said they believed he was Muslim. Just before the 2008 election, a majority, 55%, described then-candidate Obama’s faith as Christian, while just 12% said he was Muslim.

‘We Will Defend the Constitution Against Enemies!’:
    See C.L. Bryant’s Standing-Ovation FreePAC Speech

[“[With] one voice tonight so many of you from all over this world
have come here to the land of the free and the home of the brave
and we want to let you know that we have always defended people
who embraced liberty all over this world,” he proclaimed. “And these
patriots will not stand down in the face of their enemies!”

But in addition to supporting others in foreign lands, he also told
the crowd to defend liberty at home. The audience erupted, getting
even louder after he added, “We will defend the Constitution against

Bryant also railed against big government, warning that America “could
go away as we know her.” And earlier in the speech, he encouraged the
audience not to “bow down to any earthly king.”

“There are those among us who would enslave us,” he said. “The reach
and the scope of big government is the new plantation and if we are not
careful we will fall under the spell of government handouts. That is why
we will send this message tonight from Dallas, Texas, that…we’re going
to sweep clean the White House.”]

College and military friends were going to get together this September in Chicago, to spend some time together. Unfortunately, since Rom the Dumb says supporters of Traditional Values are no longer welcome in Chicago, we will reschedule to Indianapolis. We loved it there, when we last visited. I lived in Chicago while going to college, and Rom the Dumbs values, ARE NOT, Chicago values. They are HIS, and now will force them on ALL the constituents, that’s called Rom the Dumb DIVERSITY. Believe like him, or get out of town. HIS town, he owns it. Richard Daley must be rolling in his grave. I knew Chicago was in trouble when they voted in the little dictator, is Obama not enough? Do they really own all of the people and all of the land? Since when?

  • Man

If you support Traditional Values, do as Rom the Dumb says, and stay out of Chicago and Boston. Find cities to visit that truly understand the definition of “DIVERSITY” Not defined as, “OUR WAY OR NO WAY” or only WE have rights and you have NO rights. Is that the liberal definition of diversity? Ignorance, that’s all, and bullying, which they protest but are excellent at. Hypocrites and ignorants.

  • A few years ago when the beautiful and talented Anita Bryant took on the Homosexual community Billy Graham was nowhere to be found. I thought he was a magician doing a vanishing act.

Graham by having to support traditional marriage at this time proves that had he supported Ms. Bryant in her time of need, he would not now have to oppose same sex “marriage”.

When it comes to courage and discernment Graham has never impressed me. When he held evangelistic services around the country and overseas some of the pinkest idiots on the planet shared the limelight with him.

Graham never even crusaded against abortion on demand. Now that is really pathetic.

From what I can see his son Franklin is a little better.

ABC Praised Free Speech of ‘Spirited’ Dixie
Chicks, Slams Chick-Fil-A for ‘Firestorm’ ….

[CNN, however, did not. On Starting Point, panelist Will Cain explained,
“…This is a blatant, easy, open and shut case of a First Amendment
violation in Chicago. You cannot deny permits to someone based on
their political opinion. You just simply cannot.”

CNN even allowed Cain to get in this shot: “Rahm Emanuel is also
the one who is the little tyrant opposed to the First Amendment as
well…Tyranny comes in the form of good intentions.”

Lawyer Mark Geragos added, “All they are
doing is trying to regulate this guy’s speech.”]

Emanuel invited to discuss the controversy..

[“I would challenge anyone to see any discriminatory action by any
Chick-fil-A anywhere, let alone in Chicago,” Silich said. “What was
said are the personal beliefs of our CEO. But it has nothing to do
with how we run our business in Chicago. It doesn’t translate into
    any discriminatory action.”

    Update on Stupidity vs. Chick-fil-A:
Emanuel backs off but STILL is wrong

[Last we left the comedic reality show known as “Stupidity vs. Chick-
fil-A“, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Chicago alderman Joe Moreno
and Philadelphia councilman Jim Kenney promised to block any Chick-
fil-A plans to expand in their areas.

Aside from the obvious hypocrisy—which Moreno still refused
to recognize—there was the issue of unconstitutional abuse
    of government authority.

We now have an update on the situation. (Side note: the liberal
Chicago Tribune side publication RedEye—of which I am the token
conservative columnist—rejected my article on the subject. Well,
blogging is more real-time than a newspaper—this is now my
second column on the topic before RedEye published its first—so
I guess it’s providential that I wrote online rather than having
    RedEye print it.)]

We Are In Obama’s Dark Night !

A night of spiritual, social, mental, and economic darkness that he’s created for us!
Are you aware that Barack Hussein Obama can be found in the Bible?
Proverbs 19:10 (NIV): “It is not fitting for a fool to live in luxury – how much worse for a slave to rule over princes!”
Also Proverbs 30:22 (NIV) which says that the earth cannot bear up under “a servant who becomes king.”
And Ecclesiastes 5:2-3 (KJV) advises: “let thy words be few…a fool’s voice is known by multitude of words.”
Although Obama is not descended from slaves, he may feel that he’s destined to become a black-slavery avenger.
Or maybe an enslaver of all free citizens!
For some stunning info on Obama and his fellow subversives, Google or MSN the newest versions of “Obama Promotes Public Sex,” “Michelle Obama’s Allah-day,” “David Letterman’s Hate Etc.,” “Un-Americans Fight Franklin Graham” and also “Sandra Bernhard, Larry David, Kathy Griffin, Bill Maher, Joan Rivers, Sarah Silverman.” Also Google “The Background Obama Can’t Cover Up” and “Prof. F. N. Lee’s ISLAM IN THE BIBLE [PDF].”
PS – Since Christians are commanded to ask God to send severe judgment on persons who commit and support the worst forms of evil (see I Cor. 5 and note “taken away”), Christians everywhere should constantly pray that the Lord will soon “take away” or at least overthrow all US leaders who continue to sear their conscience and arrogantly trample the God-given rights of the majority including the rights of the unborn. Do we need a second American Revolution?

It’s so typical and always predictable how liberal groups, such as the gay community, shout at people and accuse people of being hate mongers, bigots, racists, etc. just because those people don’t agree with them. I read Mr. Cathy’s quote and it expressed his support of traditional marriage and Christian values, and was not at all about anything anti-gay. It’s pathetic how these gay activists want to destroy a company like Chic-Fil-A just because a man exercised his right to free speech of his Christian views. What a shame that Christianity is under such attack these days by the rampant immorality that is trying to change the landscape of a once great nation. These gay leftists display real genuine hatred in their efforts to try and portray Mr. Cathy as the hater. If gays and leftists are such loving people then why can’t they just let this whole issue go and practice forgiveness. The only hate I see is the hate spewed by gays and other left wing activists. The country was better off when they [Gays] were in the closet.
