Can we call it the ‘Obama Depression’ now?
Paul Krugman gave the Saturday morning keynote speech at Netroots 2012 this past weekend… to a mostly empty room.

Those who did show up heard him say the US is suffering from a depression under Barack Obama.
The Examiner reported:
Transcript via the Examiner:
“We don’t have a formal definition, I’d say that a Depression is when things are down, when things are terrible for an extended period of time,” Krugman said, reminding them that were even “official” periods of recovery during the Great Depression.
“So it is again today,” he said.
And, yet this clown wants more stimulus spending? What a jerk.

It will snow today… for once I actually agree with Paul. Granted we differ on the reasons for this predicament

If Paul Krugman told me the sky is blue, I’d look outside and check first.
Scott commented:
I am sure if you ask Krugman, he’ll insist the reason why we are in a ‘depression’ as he puts it is that the federal government hasn’t borrowed enough and spent enough like sailors on port leave. His answer for every problem is government printing billions of dollars and paying for things we cannot afford.

CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN GALLUP TO ME?:
Ever since Obama’s “Worst week for a President since Kennedy was shot or Nixon was impeached”, Obama has rallied 5 points in approval on Gallup hitting 50% today.
To say this is illogical bordering on just plain nuts would be an understatement.
Any ideas? I vote for statistical noise and Gallup playing games with various models as the election approaches. Gallup NEVER releases their party affiliation sample so who knows what the underlying numbers are her. Still, a surge is support despite having such a horrible week?
The trend confounds.

Krugman is one of, if not THE most weasel-ly individual on the left.
Watch him when he’s being interviewed. His entire personna just screams “LIAR!”.

Bill Mitchell commented:
First those who voted for Obama are amazed, those leaning more right, but the true liberal won’t betray Obama. That said, the voters find it so very hard to think they wasted their vote. You know how they are, they too have an ego.
Patty commented:
Bill,
He is the incumbent. His voters still haven’t gotten over Bush. It is apparent they haven’t polled us!
KornKing commented:
This idiot said this morning that the big problem(echoing King Urkel) is that instead of creating 800K government jobs, we’ve shed 600 K government jobs, and there’s your recovery( 1.4 million jobs)
Patty commented:
And for Krugman and others, Standard and Poors are on the edge and just about ready to give us another Downgrade. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. Share a round with Obama.
Patty commented:
Imagine for one time this administration and its co horts in destruction, would ever tell the truth and nothing but the truth.

I could get behind some government spending if it was for something useful like nuclear power plants.

yes, i mentioned the Nixon mantra the other day, what it has to do with
Obama is beyond me, meantime, it’s anything but Obama’s record, and i
do mean anything..
Obama et al OWn the polls, papers, and control
the media, unfortunately for US, is not news..
however, if they want to yak about Nixon so much, why not all about
his being a proponent of Civil Rights, or ending the Vietnam war.. i
mean, weren’t the Dems proud of snatching defeat from the jaws of
victory? /s/
oh no, they have to keep the masses distracted and dumbed
down via old farts with their heads stuck up their laurels..

Folks that want to compare the last 3 years to the great depression are streeeeetching. No where have I seen food lines, transiting population caravans, or local repression of outsiders. Spend some time watching the Grapes Of Wrath, to get a clue as to what a real depression was all about. WON WTF has not had anything like the depression to contend with and needs to be corrected.
