161 House Democrats voted today to support gender-based abortions.

By: Rachel Pulaski

Today, the House rejected H.R. 3541 The Prenatal Non-Discrimination Act (PRENDA), sponsored by AZ Republican Trent Franks, which would have made it a federal crime for a doctor to perform an abortion based on the gender or race of the fetus.  The bill required a two-thirds majority vote and was defeated in a final vote of 246-168.  There were 20 Democrats who voted in favor of the bill and 7 Republicans who opposed it.  Thirty more votes were needed to pass the bill.

Republicans that voted against the bill were Ron Paul (Texas), Justin Amash (Mich.), Charlie Bass (N.H.), Mary Bono Mack (Calif.), Robert Dold (Ill.), Richard Hanna (N.Y.) and Nan Hayworth (N.Y.)

Democrats voting in favor were Jason Altmire (Pa.), John Barrow (Ga.), Dan Boren (Okla.), Jim Cooper (Tenn.), Jerry Costello (Ill.), Mark Critz (Pa.), Henry Cuellar (Texas), Joe Donnelly (Ind.), John Garamendi (Calif.), Tim Holden (Pa.), Larry Kissell (N.C.), Daniel Lipinski (Ill.), Stephen Lynch (Mass.), Jim Matheson (Utah), Mike McIntyre (N.C.), Collin Peterson (Minn.), Nick Rahall (W.Va.), Silvestre Reyes (Texas), Mike Ross (Ark.) and Heath Shuler (N.C.).

Fox News has more:

The White House and Democratic lawmakers opposed the bill out of concern that it could end up subjecting doctors to strict punishment, suggesting the law would be difficult to follow.   “The administration opposes gender discrimination in all forms, but the end result of this legislation would be to subject doctors to criminal prosecution if they fail to determine the motivations behind a very personal and private decision,” White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Thursday.   But GOP lawmakers pointed to the opposition as further proof of the administration’s abortion advocacy.   “It is inconceivable to me how our Nobel Prize-winning president can refuse to protect little girls from the violence of sex-selection abortion,” Rep. Chris Smith, R-N.J., said Thursday.   Bill sponsor Rep. Trent Franks, R-Ariz., said “there has never been a more pro-abortion president in the White House … I’m astonished the leader of the free world would fail to protect the unborn from being aborted on the basis of sex.”

This should come as no surprise, considering Obama is the most pro-abortion president in US history, who 4 times voted to support infanticide.   How will the President explain to his daughters that he chose not to protect his future grandchildren from race or sex based abortions?

China & US One Child – One Sex Policy

it’s coming, heh, it’s more than halfway here as it is.. :-(

    bit more here.

  2. Sickening and vile – Satan sure is hard at work in the democrat/liar party. It is becoming extremely easy to determine the wheat from the tares of late – the tares are as black as black can be……and yes, I am referring to the darkness of Satan and his evil ways.

  3. OT: Is anyone having problems reaching Facebook? It’s extremely and untypically sloooow…

  4. Gives new insight to the big push for gay “marriage” doesn’t it? There aren’t going to be enough women to go around. Already aren’t in China and parts of India.

  5. Anything goes now!!!

Think you might have a gay baby?

Barack Obama has no problem with it being abort for only that reason now…

    Cheers lefties!

    You got your wish.

    Eugenics.

    Yes it is wonky.

  7. Party of death has the perfect person to lead-them down the pits of hell…..

  8. With all the evil this administration has and plans to do or will try to do in the coming months, it should be of no shock to anyone including his daughters. I am confident that these young ladies are in the process of being conditioned to believe the same as their parents beliefs as did Oblamer was by his mentors and family. Young children are easily led astray and easily molded into anything their trainers want them to be later in life and this will be true with these girls. They will carry on the torch of their parents and continue on with their legacy in years to come. Time will tell….

  9. I don’t know about the rest of you, but when unborn girls are the ones being increasingly “selected” for abortion, that sounds like a “war on women” to me – even if they are only “Little Women”.

  10. Where would all those pro-abortionists be if their mother had felt the same way?

  11. The time is fast approaching when Christians will have to huddle in their basements and read their bibles by candlelight as Fuher Obama and his jackbooted, homosexual army will be imprisoning God-fearing people and burning their bibles!

  12. I don’t see why the reason is the governments business. Isn’t the whole rational for legal abortion that a woman has a right to privacy? Clearly the logic just doesn’t stand up.

  13. Tell me again who’s conducting a war on women?

  14. While I consider abortion morally a crime, culturally I consider WHO is doing all this aborting. On a cultural basis this is a good thing as it removes a significant number of future welfare leeches and mental defectives from the population (i.e., liberals and Dhimmeroids).

  15. Many of those democrats listed are facing strong challenges this fall and are now on record as in favor of killing baby girls just because they are girls.
