US Deploys World’s Most Advanced Fighter Jet 200 Miles From Iranian Border

By: Andrea Ryan

The U.S. is deploying F-22 Raptor fighter jets to the United Arab Emirates… Iran’s neighbor.  Does the Obama administration know something and they’re not telling us?  Are they guessing at Israel’s behavior and making sure they’re not blindsided?  Or, are they actually assisting an ally against the Iranian threat?

The Jerusalem Post reports,

The US has deployed several F-22 Raptor fighter jets to an allied base less than 320 kilometers (200 miles) from Iran, FOX news reported Friday. …

The US Air Force has strongly denied that this deployment represents a show of force against Iran or is in anyway related to a potential strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, the report stated. Instead, the move is part of a route deployment and “security cooperation with regional partners.”

US officials told FOX that the jets were moved to hangars at the United Arab Emirates’ Al Dafra Air Base. The US Air Force declined to comment on the number of jets sent or their location.

In a written statement, Lt.Col. John Dorrian of the US Air Force public affairs stated that “the United States Air Force has deployed F-22s to Southwest Asia. Such deployments strengthen military-to-military relationships, promote sovereign and regional security, improve combined tactical air operations, and enhance interoperability of forces, equipment and procedures.”

Defense Industry Daily lists some of the Raptor’s capabilities:

The F-22’s combination of stealth, vectored thrust, range, advanced surveillance electronics with potential electronic warfare applications, and sustained supersonic flight (aka “supercruise”) arguably place it in a class by itself among the world’s combat aircraft.

Several F-22s can gather as much information as AWACS and JSTARS put together.  Call it whatever you want…F-22s are going to the Middle East.  The PR statement says that this is a normal practice.  It’s not.

And the Iranians have noticed.

This is not really to attack Iran. It’s to defend Iran against an attack from Israel.

as long as they aren’t being deployed to stop Israel from taking
Iran’s Nuclear Facilities out, that seems like good news to me..

Main question: With the on-station flag and other senior officers obey any orders to stop Israel ?

Guessing the answer is yes, because El Guapo, Sunstein, plus the rest of the Totalitarians have had several years to get rid of all the true patriots at the flag level.

No sane person wants Iran to get a nuke. Nobody with a lick of sense can be indifferent to Iran’s acquisition of a nuke. You have to take it from them the way you’d take a box of matches from a toddler.

your post wasn’t up when i posted mine, and/but i’m certain
we are not the only ones to think the samo samo thought..

    Thank You Israel!!

This evil regime is out to stop Israel at all costs.

I understand that Netanyahu wants to go to early elections where his chances of getting a larger mandate is greater than ever. When Romney beats Comrade Hussein into a pulp in a landslide victory (pray hard), Israel will have a friend in the WH like no other, ever. (Romney and Netanyahu are friends and often consult together on issues.)

Why is everybody so cock sure Iran would try to attack Israel? They would probably fail and it would be utterly self-defeating and suicidal.

You know, they’ve threatened us too. And they have the means to attack us…
“Lockheed Martin continues its study on how to meet the threat of ship-launched ballistic missiles which could be delivered against a U.S. city from a ship or freighter a few hundred kilometers offshore, notes UPI. David Kier, Vice-President of Lockheed Martin’s Protection Division, is quoted as saying, “They don’t need intercontinental ballistic missile to attack us. An enemy could put a SCUD on a tramp steamer and launch it off the coast.” Kier’s remarks are similar to the warnings Donald Rumsfeld has made on a number of occasions.

realizing they, along with Israel, are within Iran
striking distance, perhaps the Middle East grew
up and decided it’s time to stop playing games??

btw, don’t know, but being the bin Ladens were recently deported to
Saudi Arabia, any ideas as to what Pakistan involvement in all, if any,
    of this might be??

It could be Bammy’s planning to hit Iran before Israel, or it is more likely to stop Israel’s attack. Or, using the F-22’s to collect more intel on Iran’s nuke facilities to pass to the Israelis to assist them in their attack.

My gut instincts tell me it’s to stop Israel. I hope to never see a time when US air power is turned against a strong, and true, ally. I hope to never see a time when our AF pilots attack a strong, and true, ally.

    Reasonable suspicion.

‘In a little noticed interview with the Daily Beast (…), Zbigniew Brzezinski suggests that Barack Obama do more than just refuse to support an Israeli strike on Iran’s nuclear sites — the American president must give the order to shoot down Israeli aircraft as they cross Iraqi airspace:

DB: How aggressive can Obama be in insisting to the Israelis that a military strike might be in America’s worst interest?

Brzezinski: We are not exactly impotent little babies. They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch?

DB: What if they fly over anyway?

Brzezinski: Well, we have to be serious about denying them that right. That means a denial where you aren’t just saying it. If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not. No one wishes for this but it could be a Liberty in reverse.

Contrary to Brezinski’s half-hearted disclaimer that no one wishes for such an outcome, there are plenty on the left who would delight in a pitched battle between the United States and Israel. Democrats in Congress routinely support resolutions affirming Israel’s right to take whatever steps it deems necessary to assure its own national defense. And Obama has at least paid lip service to the concept. But hostility to Israel among the rank and file is very real on the left — and among “realists.”‘

    Headline from Jim’s last link:

“Iran slams deployment of U.S. F-22 Raptors in UAE”

    Oh NOES!!

Why hasn’t our pansy-a$$ government “slammed” Iran for supplying 90% of the weapons and explosives used to kill our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and for fighting a proxy war against us using various supposed “splinter” groups?

We should have bombed the crap out of Tehran years ago for these blatant acts of war.

You know, they’ve threatened us too.

Threatened??!! They’ve been arming and training our enemies for nearly a decade, and everyone on the planet knows it!! That’s like saying the ChiComs and the Soviets were “Threatening us” during the Vietnam conflict. Nooooo, they were ACTIVELY fighting against us.

Iran’s seat of government should have, in a world with a sane America, long been a scene of complete devastation right now. Along with that of Saudi Arabia.

they have to coordinate/time their moves
in order to achieve the greatest results..

i for one am very afraid that we
    will be attacked BEFORE Israel..

  • Taqiyyotomist

If those who think Obama is about to assist Iran against Israel are correct….

    …kiss America’s collective a$$ goodbye.

  • JenBee

Oh, the irony… Obama absolutely despises America’s military and is embarrassed by its superiority, but he sure has fun ‘playing’ with it when it suits his political needs, eh?

this “old news” has been weighing heavy
on my mind all day, perhaps this is why..

  • S. Wolf

Considering the infiltration of Muslim Brotherhood in the Hussein regime why should we be surprised if the U.S. prevents an Israeli attack on Iran by military force?

‘Based on recent events, it would seem many senior US officials believe the answer is no. Just this week, the Obama administration claimed that the War on Terror, a catch-all term for the series of post-9/11 conflicts between civilization and violent radical Islam, has come to an end.

But a new GBTV Documentary, “Rumors of War III: Target U.S.” shatters this claim. It makes the case that not only has the threat from radical Islam endured– it is in fact growing and more imminent with each passing day.

Many might wonder how this could be the case considering Bin Laden is dead, and Al Qaeda has been under continued pressure around the world.

As ROW III shows, the problem starts with America’s current conception of the radical Islamist enemy, stretches up to the most senior reaches of government, and has allowed a number of strategic– some even say existential– threats to magnify against the United States and its citizens.’

Don’t forget Comrade Hussein’s recent appointment of the very dangerous Israel-hating Samantha Power to head the “Atrocities Prevention Board”. This horrid woman with a distorted view of genocide, and a person who believes the lies of “Palestinian” propaganda, is one of Hussein’s main “trusted” advisers. As she has in the past, she will advocate for an attack on Israel’s military or even an invasion of Israel in the event of an Iran strike.
