Disgusting… Obama Mocks Drilling for Oil in Weekly Address (Video)

Despite record gas prices Democrats killed another Arctic drilling project this month. This comes after Obama’s recent move to reject the Keystone pipeline project. US gas prices at the pump have doubled since Obama took office.

Gas Buddy

But this doesn’t seen to faze Barack Obama…
With gas prices skyrocketing President Obama mocked drilling for oil in his Weekly Address.

Here’s the transcript:

In the State of the Union, I laid out three areas we need to focus on if we’re going to build an economy that lasts: new American manufacturing, new skills and education for American workers, and new sources of American-made energy.

These days, we’re getting another painful reminder why developing new energy is so important to our future. Just like they did last year, gas prices are starting to climb. Only this time, it’s happening earlier. And that hurts everyone – everyone who owns a car; everyone who owns a business. It means you have to stretch your paycheck even further. Some folks have no choice but to drive a long way to work, and high gas prices are like a tax straight out of their paychecks.

Now, some politicians always see this as a political opportunity. And since it’s an election year, they’re already dusting off their three-point plans for $2 gas. I’ll save you the suspense: Step one is drill, step two is drill, and step three is keep drilling. We hear the same thing every year.

Drilling for known oil reserves = stupid.

Wishing for algae to change to oil = smart.

Republicans are such blatant liars! Everyone knows that when you milk a unicorn, it gives production grade sweet crude oil.

Of course, as President Obama clearly knows from his scientific prowess, the trick comes in DESERVING the oil. A unicorn is much like a woman married to a gay man; she’ll engage in sex only when the man is worth. This may be for the purpose of offspring, where she’ll actually allow the gay male to couple with her, or after child production will be with any number of studs who keep her pleased to a level her gay mate cannot. For the gay husband, one has to show the unicorn one’s worthiness before it’ll put out.

For America, this means ending racism, capitalism, industrialism, colonialism and all other factors which anger the unicorns and cause them to withhold their pollution-free life-giving mother-earth worshipping energy fluids. With another five years under Barack’s enlightened scientific rule, America may just reach this moment of progressively reasoned perfection and bliss.

We hear the same thing every year because we have voters who insist on voting for Democrats. Democrats do not solve problems, they create them. Trillions of dollars sucked out of the American economy by Democrats.

New skills and education for American workers?

You know, this guy says one thing and does the opposite.
Everyone in the world listens to his speechs and takes him at face value and thinks he actually does what he says.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
He thinks by saying what people want to hear, his job is over and he can go about his crony communistic way.

    “New” sources of American energy?
So let me get this straight:
Using available sources of energy now is just “some politicians… see this as a political opportunity.”

But him “developing” new sources of American energy is not political opportunity?

If there were enough House members who actually had a spine and actually stand up for principles instead of playing along to get along, yes. If there were enough Senators who weren’t a simple rubberstamp for Barry’s dictatorship seizing power, yes.

Sadly, we have none of that needed.

I’ve an algae eating fish in my aquarium. He’s been doing this for 2 years now. Gonna skin that sucker and stick him in my “fuel” tank this afternoon. Now I know for sure that I should listen to Won-dur-boy every chance I get.

“If there were enough House members”

Every single House member is up for reelection, there are 21 Democrat Senators. Every one of these seats should be filled with people who believe in America. You won’t find such people on the Democrat ballots. Make sure you and everyone you know does all they can on election day to get Republicans into every office.

  • This is just another example of this regime’s war on America….In just two years of this regime …….he has virually shut-down oil drilling in the Gulf..After the moratorium had ended 6 months after the BP spill the regulations have made it impossible for oil firms to restart ,operations was slapped with strict new rules on drilling even in shadow waters…This regime put billions of barrels of off shore oil and gas off limits to explorations….limits of exploration and production by exutive order….this was reported by Steve Everley of the American Sollutions Blog…..we may need to invest in horse and buggy if this regime is allow 4 more years.

  • I am so disgusted by this I could spit nails. I really think it is time for real Americans all across this country to take to the streets and demand something be done about this NOW.

Barry knows what he could do to get prices dropping and he simply refuses to do it. When Bush dropped the presidential moratoriam on drill on the OCS prices plummeted, even though everyone knew it was a symbolic act and the dem controlled congress would never lift their moratoriam.

Barry knows this, and continues to simply go on his weekly address and say “F*ck you” to the American public. And make no mistake that is EXACTLY what he is saying. There are half a dozen things he could do immediately that would lower prices.

Anyone notice he has not even mentioned releasing oil from the SPR?

How soon, exactly, would the new pipeline bring new oil supplies into the system? Build it. Build refineries for it. Would the oil companies continue to control prices? Will they want to make obscene profits? Would this help us out this Summer?

You folks know how to make emotional arguments for something but have no clue about the reality of what you’re demanding.

You like to call Obama names, too. Well, I won’t call you idiots.

  • @Retorich

And just exactly how soon do you think f**cking algea is going to make a difference?

On the 14th of July, 2008 when President George W. Bush wisely lifted the moratorium on oil drilling, thus sparking the precipitous drop in the price of gasoline from an average high of $4.12 per gallon to a cellar dwelling low of $1.60 by November of that year.

I like to call Obama a failure and an idiot because the facts and his actions support that conclusion. Piplines may or may not help by summer, but htye sure would keep this from happening in another 8 years. If a purely symbolic gesture on Bush’s part had the effect it did, what do you yhink approval of Keystone XL and a lifting of the existing bans might accomplish?

Even if they ultimately had no effect, don’t you think a president who gave a rip would at least make the attempt? This one won’t, and it is very clear why not. Wake up.

  • Steven

Wouldnt it make sense to drill now while trying to figure out a way of developing new energy?

There is no other option at this point. Once its figured out, stop drilling.

You cant turn a light on without a bulb.

Hell yes the pipeline would help the United States. So would expanding drilling here. Do you think the oil markets would be calmer and cheaper with oil coming from the US and Canada or from Iran and the Middle East?

Obama is so full of crap. He has done everything he possibly can to kill drilling in the US yet he claims he has increased production when the increase has come mainly from state and private land where he has tried but failed to stop production. He killed the biodiesel industry by failing to push to maintain subsidies at a critical point…the biodiesel industry obviously didn’t give enough to his campaign like all the other bankrupt green industries.

He can mock about drill, drill, drill but he his going to get drilled in November. He will be sorry he ever said the word algae. Algae shows great promise but we are a generation from that kind of technology being a household item. Let the masses eat cake and pay out the behind for gas while the elite play golf 50 times a year and take dream vacations every two weeks.

I don’t want to know anyone who votes for this man in the 2012 election.

The real winner for a secure source of some of the oil the US needs was the Keystone pipeline from Canada…plus it would have provided many much needed jobs for Americans.

But…the loser in the White House said NO! Let us hope he is ousted from office and the next president signs a deal with Canada for oil.

Well, Mr. President-Resounding-Success[-NOT], you might at least CONSIDER trying something different than the useless dog-poop your administration has “accomplished” so far. Otherwise, the next guy in the Oval Office gets to use the phrase “the failed policies of the Obama administration” hundreds of times during the years 2013-2016. (You know, just like you’ve been doing for the past 4 years with regard to President Bush’s administration.) You wouldn’t like that, now, would’ja? …you puny little SCOAMF, you!

[No surprise, Republicans are reviving their “Drill, Baby Drill” catcalls from 2008, but liberals in Washington are getting nervous and asking President Barack Obama to tap into the Strategic Petroleum Reserve as a potential panacea for escalating gasoline prices.] a tempory fix to go along with all the other obama temporay fixes. bill clinton tapped into the reserve for the same reason and for short term relief. Bush tapped in after katrina [actual emergency].

    @Retorich

What do you think it will cost to produce oil from pond scum? Best estimates right now are $8 to $32 per gallon. That’s just production costs with no transport, marketing, taxes, et cetera.
How big a pond do you think we would need to grow all the algae needed to replace oil? One estimate puts it at about the size of Colorado. But I suppose each State could give up one-fiftieth of itself for this “noble cause”. Have you considered the environmental impact that all the pond and extraction facilities would have? And I do not recommend living downwind of an algae processing plant.
Geting oil from pond scum is about half as effiecient as deriving it from corn (biofuel) which has proven to be a loser. That Obama is pushing algae as a fuel can only mean one thing: there is something financially in it for he and his buddies. It is a stupid idea for a major energy policy. Really stupid.
It has been my observation that those who support biofuels, not withstanding some major financial gain, have a hatred towards oil, coal, and nuclear. Why? It really is an irrational hatred. Please respond as I really do not understand your irrational stance and would like to get a handle on it.
