Sarah Palin & Rush Limbaugh Both Agree: Democrats Want to Run Against Romney

Sarah Palin told Judge Jeanine this weekend that Obama and the mainstream media want Romney to win the GOP primary so that they can then portray Romney as someone who is out of touch with regular Americans.

Human Events reported:

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said the mainstream media and President Barack Obama “want to face Mitt Romney in the general election.” She made those comments on “Justice With Judge ” on FOX News on Saturday during the same time the Republican presidential candidates were debating in New Hampshire on ABC.

Palin said the mainstream media would take a hands-off approach to Romney “in order to bolster Romney’s chances” to “finally face Obama.”

Rush Limbaugh agreed with Sarah Palin today on his show.
Via Free Republic:

RUSH: There is a story on the Drudge Report today from Sarah Palin in which Sarah Palin says that the White House wants Mitt Romney to be the Republican nominee. Now, not only did I tell you that the Broncos were gonna beat the Steelers, for months I have been telling you that the Democrats want Romney — and you all know it. You’ve been listening here and you’ve heard people call me and tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about, that I’m full of it, that they’re scared of Romney. “Romney is the only guy who can win.” And I have said, “No,” and I’ve stood tough, and I’ve said, “They can’t wait for him. What’s Occupy Wall Street all about but running against Romney? He’s the Wall Street guy on our roster — and then Romneycare,” and I’ve laid it all out. So here comes Palin, she says it, and makes news — and Donna Brazile has said it. This is post-debate coverage on ABC Saturday night. George Stephanopoulos, Democrat Party hack disguised as the debate moderator on ABC, had this discussion with Jon Karl and Donna Brazile.

BRAZILE: Mitt Romney won tonight because no one touched him — and for Democrats, you know what? It was good news for us.

KARL: Why is that?

BRAZILE: Because we believe that the weakest candidate is the candidate that the Republicans are not attackin’, and that’s Mitt Romney.

KARL: Oh, come on.

STEPHANOPOULOS: No, you don’t believe that, Donna.

RUSH: That’s Stephanopoulos. What Stephanopoulos is saying is, “Shut up, Donna! What the hell are you doing, Donna? Did you not take your meds?” That, “Come on, Donna, what are you doing? You know you don’t believe that” means, “Donna, shut up.” You know, she’s feeling her oats there. So Palin has come out say it it and Donna Brazile saying it. “Oh, yeah, the one guy not being attacked…” She practically gleeful here, and I’ll tell you why she’s gleeful. She’s gleeful because what she sees is Romney getting the nomination, so she thinks it’s okay to blow the lid off this cover now. “Mitt Romney won tonight, because no one touched him — and for Democrats that’s good news for us.” Stephanopoulos says, “Whoa, whoa, whoa! Why is that?” “Well, because we believe the weakest candidate is the candidate the Republicans are not attacking, and that’s Romney,” and Stephanopoulos says, “Oh, you don’t believe that!” I guarantee she had a talking to. They had a talking to with her with her after this, because that’s a major faux pas. The line that’s supposed to come out of the Democrat Party is they’re scared of Romney. The line is, “Oh, no, they don’t want to face Romney. Romney is the toughest guy.” That’s the line, and they know, folks — the Democrats know that our experts are stupid enough to believe that the Democrats will be honest and tell us who they really don’t want to face. I’ll tell you who they don’t want to face when we come back.

RUSH: The Democrats are afraid of any candidate they have sought to destroy. You can start with Sarah Palin, you can move on to Santorum. Any — any conservative who showed any interest — the Democrats set out to destroy. That’s who they’re genuinely afraid of. They are not hammering Mitt Romney at all, and Donna Brazile let the cat out of the bag. Don’t doubt me.

Right as usual, Romney will give Imam Obama another 4 years because they are cut out of the same statist bolt of cloth. The two of them are virtually indentical except for their skin color.

  • retire05

Well, you have to give Sarah Palin credit for one thing; she seems to be the Queen of Stating the Obvious. Hell, Sarah, tell us something we didn’t already know.

If stating the obvious is all it takes to be a political pundit on Fox, I am sure there are a number of people on this blog who would work for a lot less than Palin’s getting. Greta Van Sustern’s husband, who negotiated the Palin/Fox contract is known to be as ruthless as they come.

  • Redwine

    Of course, she’s right.

  • donh

She is so right. Obama wants the Bain corporate raider wall street capitalist to run against becaus jealous hate of the Republican rich wins EVERY time. Establishment hacks know Romney will lose and they don’t care. Its a win win. They pocket money from Romney selling us out . They will be rewarded by Obama for serving his re-election and they don’t have to fear losing their public funded revenue streams if a real budget cutter gets elected. So sad how the Tea Party leaders prefer to be accepted by the in crowd than fight the good fight. People like Nikki Haley sold out cheaper than a Panamanian hooker on a Monday night.

  • Liz

Palin and Rush both know Romney is our best most competent shot and they are working hard to keep him the underdog so he can continue his stealth campaign. So far so good. God bless them for their patriotic help.

  • retire05

She not saying anything that many of us have been saying for months. So where is the courage in that? Hell, even “conservative” pundits are claiming “It’s a Wrap for Mitt” in the NYPost.

What’s next? Went we read about a robbery, Palin’s going to come out and say “Well, there obviously was a crime committed here.”

    Give me a break.

  • Liz

Can we impeach Obama already? The unconsitutional stuff, the murder of border patrol agents, the crazy spending, the killing of the capitalist model….any of these are good reasons. Impeachment anyone? Did he take that provision out of the Constitution via Executive Order? Wouldn’t doubt it.

  • Liz

Uhh…it’s pretty clear at this point it’s Romney. Americans aren’t dumb. What, you think Huntsman or Paul has a chance? Santorum? How ’bout the bitter government has-been Newt?

  • aprilnovember811

They’re both absolutely right. How could Romney run against him on Zerocare, when he has his own version, and the person who advised Romney on his plan, also advised Zero.

John Holdren who advised Romney in his EPA works for Zero’s EPA.

The establishment Republicans know how to pick em.

Steffy sounded mad at Donna for letting the cat out of the bag(after all, everyone is so stupid that none of us could figure it out)

The entire Republican Party in charge right now, is also responsible for the deaths of the two Federal Agents, the 200 Mexicans, the theft that was called Stimulus, and loans to green energy. They are responsible for his breaching the Constitution, because they are tasked with stopping it.

When they don’t stop it, they become complicit. I would add that I pray, this destroys the entire television propaganda arm, including that dreadful FOX. They are complicit for aiding and abetting his origins. They also covered up his little Halloween Party by not reporting on it.

  • Paz

Romney, Gingrich, Santorum = Constitutional Conservatives and Independents stay home = Obama wins
Focusing on social issues = Obama wins
Ron Paul = Freedom wins = Constitutional Conservatives and Independents vote in DROVES = Obama loses in a landslide = Federal Reserve LOSES!!!!!!!!!!!

In addition to what I said above, don’t forget the giving of the drone to Iran, by the Muslim Brotherhood plants he put in the DHS and State Dept., the murder of the Navy Seals also.

I saw that, and I immediately thought the same thing, it was obvious.

Sunday morning Tingles had Romney surrogate John Sununu on and they got into a fight over Romney’s anti-Newt Pac ads.

I thought it was strange that Tingles was taking Newt’s side and a modest stand against Romney.

Listen, I will be Mittens Romneycare’s biggest supporter IF he gets the nomination; but until then, its ABM for me.

  • Remco Kimber

    Mitt is the 1%.

And Obama and his surrogates will pound that point endlessly.

  • retire05

#12, aprilnovember811, I have absolutely NO problem with Palin earning a living. Hell, I don’t even care if she does it as a political pundit (talking head). But tell us something we don’t know, not confirm the obvious.

As to what I did for a living: well, I owned my own business that produced a product that buyers wanted. If they had not wanted my product, I would have had no business. But Bubba Clinton made sure that I could not compete with China (putting the American textile industry out of business in the process) so I had to regroup. Sarah is not producing a product, just opinion, and I’m not in the market.

I have said it before: Palin has a unique talent that could greatly benefit the state she claims to have so much love for. Palin, as others have, could be recruiting businesses to move to Alaska, reducing some of the dependence Alaska has on the rest of us taxpayers. Companies pay well for that kind of promotion (see: finder’s fees). She also could be an excellent spokeswoman for the problems in the Native American community (drugs, alcoholism, rape) as she is married to a Native American.

Instead, she is now reduced to making obvious statements a day late and a dollar short. Donna Brazille announced that Obama wants to run against Romney and now Palin is picking up on that? That’s not providing information, that’s simply stating what every non-Beltway pundit already knows.

But hey, take any comment about Sarah Palin that doesn’t offer her worship as an insult. I just think she is wasting her time and talent. And when you look at it through rational eyes, she really is sooooooo 2008.

  • donh

The polling proves it. Once opponents start spending money on media ads Romney’s numbers collapse like Chinese drywall. He tied a social issue fanatic who spent $50,000 on TV ads. He’s billed as a left of center man that can draw independant votes but 48% of independants went to Paul and are of high risk going to Obama because of his Iraq withdrawl.

Dan Rather: As of Today, Obama Would Lose

[RUSH: I am, I’m a voice in the wilderness here on this whole “Obama is landslidable” business. I was a voice in the wilderness among Steelers fans on Sunday versus the Tebows. I was right about that — and if the election were today, it would be a landslide loss. Well, let me define “landslide.” Five or seven points. It would be big. It would be huge. These people that are doing the polling have no idea of the voter enthusiasm in the anti-Obama ranks out there, no idea whatsoever. On the contrary, they think that you are getting dispirited. They think that the Republican primary fight is boring you and depressing you, and they think a lot of you can be inspired to sit home and not vote because you don’t have a prayer. They think they can create that mind-set in you. That’s what they’re banking on. I happen to know that that isn’t gonna work. There are way too many people who love this country way too much. That isn’t going to happen.]

    here here Rush!!

  • greenfairie

If the Dems “want to run against Romney,” who DON’T they want to run against? Please let me know so I can vote for that person in the primary. Except nobody–besides the Ron Paul Cheering Squad–seems to have that answer. Who do the conservative gurus think is the guy who can beat Obama? The ever-cuddly Newt Gingrich?

I’m undecided at the moment but I’m starting to get as annoyed with the righty blogs and the like who are telling me who not to vote for as I was with the “establishment” types telling me who I should vote for. We all may as well measure Michelle’s booty for the ceremonial gown she’ll wear in a year when Obama declared himself Emperor. Pfft.

  • havok

I have been thinking the same.. what will Romney Debate him on?? 0bamacare?? (Can’t because of Romney care). Big Gov’t Spending?? (Nope..Romney was a big gov’t Gov who even pushed for the Billions wasted on the Big Dig). Wall-street Lobbying?? Romney is neck deep in it with obama.

I Suppose the only thing they will debate is Who had the best cookie recipe, 0bama’s grand mom, or Romney’s 3rd Pastry Chef at Estate number 4.

  • EBL

Well, we also have Democrats saying Obama most fears running against Romney (last time they said something like this it was he feared most running against Huntsman)–and when I get election advice from the Democrats I usually assume the opposite of what they are saying.

  • Multitude

Don’t forget the bonus: Romney is McCain’s guy (Meghan and that bitter beer face angry elderly fellow she’s often seen hanging around with).

  • Lincoln limited the bad effects of a four year term in office could have on the nation, but what about eight years or two terms?

If Obama is re-elected we may have to witness soldiers goose-steeping outside the Pentagon. Obama is as authoritarian as FDR who filled the high court with yes men.

Presently we have no one to run against Obama. Newt is a nut, Romney a chameleon, Santorum a big government Republican, Paul a libertarian, and Perry another Bush.

O God, please send us another Calvin Coolidge.

  • Kraig the Krazy Kanadian

  • Ausonius

In point of fact, Rush has been saying this for quite some time. It makes perfect sense, except to all of those trying to derail every non-Romney that comes along.
I think the desire for the establishment (and all of their water carriers) is two-fold:
    1. They think they are very clever and enlightened, and they are neither; and/or
    2. The effect of the failure of the non-Romney will fatigue the Tea Partiers, thus removing them from revelancy (a point some of the water carriers fail to grasp).
Just wait to see their “brilliance” on display when little barry gets to run against a hedge fund manager and the only other executive in the entire country to mandate you spending money for state-required health care.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ll support him if he is the choice, as active participation in aiding barry in his quest to destroy America is something I will not do. That doesn’t equate to me throwing out the best conservative, Santorum, at this early stage to take what some arrogant jackwipe declares is the only choice (especially when the other side wants him too). Should be a red flag, but I suppose the brilliant pundits are far more enlightened than a simpleton such as I.

  • Ausonius

You are repeating one of the most idiotic statements being made, Santorum is a big government repub.
The source for that statement is the Romney/Paul/Msm groups, all of which seem to want Romney as the contender.
The notion that Santorum isn’t to the well-right of Romney on any issue is a damnable fiction.
The myth that he is unelectable becomes reality if people like you convince enough, thus making perception (yours perhaps) become reality.
An excellent article by Quinn Hillyer in National Review Online is on their websight right now, and does a better job than I at defending one of the most reliable conservatives over the past 20 years.

  • Joanne

You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure this out. Look at Herman Cain – they attacked him relentlessly until he dropped out; Michele Bachmann they couldn’t find any dirt on, so they portrayed her as far right, stupid, and crazy; and on and on until she lost very with the Republicans as a viable candidate to stand against Obama; and on and on. The media is choosing the Republican candidate, and too many Republicans are just sheep without brains repeating Democratic talking points. Pitiful.

  • havok

@ #27 This Blog post isn’t about who will win against Obama… it’s about who the Dem’s WANT to run against.. We are all speculating (Usually with facts) as to WHY the Progressive/Lib-Comm’s want Romney to be the Nominee..

Personally.. I think everyone on the GOP side except Al-Qaeda & Iran’s Lobbyist Ron Paul would win…but he won’t win the nomination anyhow, even with his 10% of drug addicted, Klan loving, 9-11 conspiracy nut Support…being so vocal.

  • a former dem

really Sarah? so Romney is the nominee, and I’m in the ABO camp, are you going to campaign for him or against him?

also, Sarah, maybe you don’t know this Donna Brazille is a dem operative, ABC calls her “impartial”, which is a load of BS, she would say that against Newt, Paul, ANY repub. I can’t believe repubs and conservatives still think dems actually say what they believe, they will lie to get their radical policies ahead.

  • Joanne

The democrats want Obama to run against Romney, because the Republicans won’t be able to attack Obama on the issue of his eligibility to hold the Office of POTUS, because Romney is in a similar boat. A natural born American must have two American citizen parents to be eligible, and neither do. This is the best chance of Obama making all the challenges in Court go away. If Romney gest the nomination, the Republicans will leave the eligibility issue alone to get out Obama fair and square – big bloody mistake, because Obama will play dirty all the way back to the Whitehouse.

  • Mary

Each day I get more paranoid, or is it something else? Listening to the pundits talk about a new poll out showing 40% now say they consider themselves Independent. I can understand. BHO and the libs are ruining this country and the GOP elite want to force-feed us a candidate. So I get that people might change their affiliation. But is it real, or another trick by the liberals? Trying to get Huntsmann or Paul or even Trump to run as an “I” and split the vote?
My head is about to explode….

For the record, I believe that the establishment (probably not the water carriers) would be fine loosing to barry if it meant the disintegration of the Tea Party. They see the Tea Party as a threat (and should) to their domination and power distribution. Do not forget, the serious “moneyed” class do not operate under the same rules as we do and thus probably do not fear the freedom loss that we would see. Besides, with barry they know they just have to “pay to play” which cronyism has been doing for a very long time.
I am very disappointed in some of the water carriers who, until recently, respected a great deal. I think either they have changed or perhaps were not as true to conservatism as I had thought. Who do I speak of? Generally, all of the pundits who have declared Mitt the champion, but still feel the need to beat us in line (since he’s such a clear champion), as well as the more subtle ones who think we don’t notice the lack of negative stories on Mitt, while never seeming to find a lack of negative ones about everyone else.
Do these schollars think the msm will ignore Mitt’s negatives? All they are doing is sabotaging the process.

  • Patriot Act

That the liberal news media is in the business of choosing the weakest possible Republican candidate in the primary was made obvious to me in 2008 when they chose McCain for us. Barely an unkind word could be heard against him before the primary, while the real conservatives were ignored or marginalized. I literally could find almost no reporting in the papers on my favorite, Fred Thompson. Bachman (and Santorum, until recently) are this election’s Fred Thompson.

I’m still not buying what Romney is selling and I never plan to. He’s nothing more than a fake, conning people into believing he’s changed. I pity those of you, that have fallen for it. Whatever happens with the GOP, you really have it coming, due to the amount of stupidity you have shown. No matter if you win or lose, you’ll still be no better than the other party. I’m not a fan of Democrats, but I’m also not a fan of the GOP, and you’re proving to me why, with this onslaught of Romney worship.

This election will be another flop, just like the last one. The people of this country deserve better.

I think it was National Review who laid out the case against Romney a week or so ago. The biggest thing is having Romney for a candidate will take attacking Obamacare off the table. Afterall, how can Romeny hammer Emperor Obamus on this usurpation of our liberty when he himself presided over Romneycare? So I fully expect the official narrative out of the liberal media is that Obama is terrified of Romney. Don’t believe anything they say. Watch what they do.

  • Its pretty obvious they want and are completely prepared for Romney, its just a battle between the GOP mainstream and the Democrats to who will push hardest for him to win the nomination.

This is a battle between the Tea Party movement and the entrenched GOP elites on the beltway. They have the money and the national machine. We have the votes and the local machines. Who’ll win? Looks like the GOP, this round.

The problem is… I’ll vote for Romney if he’s against Obama. That man MUST be removed from office.

Obama is friends with all the one percenters EXCEPT Romney, and that is his biggest qualifier for getting the nomination.

  • #43: I agree completely! Of course the Dems want Romney; makes perfect sense to me. I see very little difference between Romney and Obama except for the fact Romney has worked in the private sector. He might as well have a (D) after his name, imo. Wake up American voters – NO ON ROMNEY!

Right on the Money Rush. It’s been obvious to me for months that the Dems are attacking Romney to give him credibility and to create the impression that they are afraid of him. They want to run against Romney because they know they will be able to effectively demonize him over his activities at Bain Capital. They also know that while their cohorts in the media are currently downplaying the Bain story that if Romney becomes the nominee that the main stream media will suddenly become investigative reporters and start bringing the details of Romney’s corporate raider activities into clear focus. I strongly believe that what the democrats fear most is a Newt Gingrich nomination. If you doubt this, just look at the ABC interview of Newt’s ex-wife aired 2 days before the SC primary..
