Oh Brother. #Occupy Loons Break Rules with Plastic Float for Rose Parade

The Obama-endorsed #Occupy loons plan on crashing the Tournament of Roses Parade with their own plastic float.
The LA Times blog reported:
Occupy protesters are busy finishing their float that will run at the end of the Rose Parade: a 70-by-40-foot octopus made of recycled plastic bags.
The octopus, said activist Mark Lipman of Los Angeles, represents Wall Street’s stranglehold on political, cultural and social life, with tentacles “that reach into your pocket to get your money and a tentacle to get your house.”
“This is the real Rose Parade, and the other is the Rose Charade,” said Pete Thottam, 40, an Occupy activist.
Protesters will march the parade route after the floats and marching bands have passed. The group has been working with Pasadena police and Tournament of Roses officials on how not to disrupt the parade.
Of course, their plastic float is not only offensive, it breaks the rules.
It is a rule of the parade that all surfaces of the float framework be covered in natural material (such as flowers, plants, seaweeds, seeds, bark, vegetables, or nuts, for example); furthermore, no artificial flowers or plant material are allowed, nor can the materials be artificially colored. Last-minute volunteering opportunities are usually available.

However, just an FYI … the MSM is kind of misrepresenting the fact. The Occupy Pasadena float is not in the actual Tournament of Roses Parade. Anyone is allowed to walk the parade route following the conclusion of the parade. These people are just looking to glom onto the event because they know no one would waste their time and come to their protest.

They are walking the parade route after the parade is over. I have actually contacted HGTV, NBC and ABC asking them to not give these parasites the free PR.
Technically, we could all do the same thing, the only difference being that we at Scared Monkeys and the Gateway Pundit crowd would not require extra security to be required.

I am sure that most can “JUST IMAGINE” a 2012 Tournament of Roses Parade without any presence of the Occupy Rose Parade protesters. The Occupy protesters plan on perpetuating their “parasite” movement by marching the parade route after the floats and marching bands have passed. Actually, they have no choice. They are not allowed to be a part of the actual Tournament of Roses Parade, the floats, marching bands and others are specially allowed to do so by invitation only.
Rumor has it that the officials asked if the protesters would make themselves useful and pick up the horse dung while they walk the route after the parade is over. However, as one of my readers reminded me, hell, these people don’t pick up their own crap.

You know, I can almost see a 19 or 20 year old caught up in that ritual of rebellion but a 40 YEAR OLD in charge of a plastic bag protest float? Gimme a break. If you are 40 years old and spend your time duct taping recycled plastic bags for a float that will say “Banks are evil” then you have more problems than a distaste for capitalism.
