Republicans Cheer Death Penalty–
Republicans cheered the death penalty tonight at the GOP debate at the Reagan Library. They cheered again when Governor Rick Perry defended his state’s laws.
Brian Williams: Governor Perry a question about Texas. Your state has executed 234 death row inmates more than any other governor in modern times. Have you struggled to sleep at night?
Governor Rick Perry: No sir. I’ve never struggled with that at all… If you kill one of our children or police officers or another citizen in a crime you will face the ultimate justice in Texas.
Then the crowd cheered again… Even louder.
This certainly wasn’t a liberal crowd.
Related… Melissa Clouthier had this to say on the debate:
Here’s how I thought they did:
1. Newt — he reminded everyone, again, that the media frames the debate in a harmful way, never going to happen
2. Romney — he’s a smooth operator; not going to be a big contrast with Obama
3. Perry — he didn’t make any terrible moves; he needs to get better and have more ready answers, base will like it
4. Bachmann — she was challenged more, seemed less sure of herself
5. Santorum — always does a good job, gets no respect
6. Huntsman — annoying
7. Paul — good griefI said on Twitter that the left will say Romney won and Perry did terrible, but I bet the polls for Perry go up after this.

The ACLU and libs seen having snit fits.
LOL!
Don’t mess with Texas(ans)!
MrGoodWench commented:
IMHO, Perry should have said
” When I go to bed, I pray to Lord that He let the victim know that TX got justice for him/her”
gus commented:
Brian Williams is a fuktard. Did he ask Obama how he could sleep after allowing INFANTICIDE in ILLINOIS?
anonymousryan commented:
Even innocent Texans face the ultimate justice, though. http://www.salon.com/news/politics/war_room/2011/06/25/cameron_todd_willingham_rick_perry

MSNBC is despicable
Hobbitually conservative commented:
A stupid talking head on the news up here in Chicago had the look of fear when the other head said there was a cheer in the audience before Williams even completed the question.
Liberals value murderers more than they value innocence.

Liberals value criminals. Look at MSNBC TV marathon parading criminals on TV. I have stopped watching MSNBC and their degenerate sub-culture.

It is near impossible that an innocent man would never be executed, our judicial system can not be perfect. Liberal bleeding hearts will try anything to get any one off on a technicality. The man was tried and convicted by a jury of his peers and if he was innocent, I can live with that knowing 233 killers won’t be bothering any one any more.
I am concerned though, about millions of children being murdered before they have been able to start their own life, and if they should survive the attempted murder are condemned by this president to be thrown into a trash barrel alive.

Game over man!
Perry will be the nominee if Palin doesn’t run. I think he’ll take Obama to the cleaners. His sharp and straight forward manner will accentuate the fact that Obama is nothing more than a manipulative shuck ‘n jive artist.
Either way, I’d prefer to see Palin run for Senate in AZ in 2012 and then for President in 2020.

I don’t oppose the death penalty, but it does seem a bit tacky to cheer on the idea of killing a person, no matter how guilty. It is a serious somber thing for the State to take a man’s life, guilty or not.
Sonoran Supposition commented:
Jim’s accompanying Tweet was “It’s moments like this that make be damn proud to be Republican – GOP Crowd Cheers Death Penalty”.
NYC Conservative commented:
Peggy R, I don’t think they were cheering the idea of killing someone. They were putting Brian Williams in his place, after that “How do you sleep at night?” bit of snark.
retire05 commented:
anonymousryan, did your Salon article also tell you that Willingham had previously beat his wife so bad that she had to be hospitalized and lost the baby she was pregnant with?
Rose commented:
THAT’S A GOOD ONE! EVEN I am impressed!
retire05 commented:
PeggyR, Humberto Leal raped a young Hispanic (something that never gets mentioned) girl of 16. He physically raped her and then raped her with a board with a nail in it, ripping her insides to shreds BEFORE he based her head in with a huge piece of concrete.
What would you consider a suitable punishment for such a rapid animal?
Craig commented:
“This certainly wasn’t a liberal crowd.” Jim Hoft
And this certainly wasn’t a CONSERVATIVE crowd either. Conservatives have conservarive value, and one of those is respect for life!
And this was certainly not a Christian crowd either. Christians knows that they should not kill.
So what was was it:
It was an ignorant, hateful and disconnected crowd filled with blood thursty idiots.

Peggy, I agree. I found myself elated when someone was executed, and felt ashamed, until…
Until I realized it wasn’t the execution that I was cheering, it was that the termites who continually try to undermine the death penalty by any subterfuge, preventing justice. They have used every dishonest means, calling lethal injections “cruel and unusual punishment”, denying that retribution decreases crime. They even protested the execution of a man who was found covered with the victims blood after a horrendous crime. I was cheering because the termites had lost one.
So, credit those who oppose the death penalty by dishonest means for the tackiness of cheering an execution.
retire05 commented:
Craig, my advise to you; don’t come to Texas and kill someone.
We will kill you back.
