Barack Obama’s “Son of Stimulus” Package surged over the $400 billion mark.Political Punch reported:
This evening, President Obama will do more than call for job creation, he will announce he is sending legislation to Congress for quick action.
“The president will unveil tonight The American Jobs Act, a plan of bipartisan ideas to create jobs right now and is fully paid for,” Communications director Dan Pfeiffer told ABC News.
The final price tag is still being calculated but it could reach $400 billion, paid for by savings elsewhere in government.
And it is crafted to appeal to Republicans who have control of the House, where all money bills must begin their legislative track.
White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley said on “Good Morning America” the specifics “will create jobs. They’ll get teachers back to work. First responders back to work. Construction workers, it will get money into small businesses. And the American people will see a tax cut with a payroll extension.”
Daley adds special emphasis will be on tax breaks for smaller companies which hire: ”It will help the long-term unemployed and help small businesses hire veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan at a time where there is a growing unemployment rate among veterans.”
American Crossroads asks: After more than 30 months of record unemployment, the question arises: How many jobs have Obama’s policies destroyed?
The video suggests that Obama’s best jobs policy would be to repeal his own policies.

So there it is: teachers, police & firemen and construction jobs–all union workers. What about private sector jobs, the REAL drivers of our economy. This and payroll extension coupled with additional unemployment benefits adds up to the same half-assed strategy that didn’t work the first time. What we have here is nothing more than warmed-over “stimulus”…do we call this one Stimulus II? Pathetic. 32-months and this is the best this arrogant amateur can come up with.

Iraq is worried that Iran will see our withdrawal as time to attack them and they are mad about such a downgrade of U.S. troops.

Here we go again with the “teachers back to work” crap. With Obama, “Teachers” is just another word for UNIONS. There are many more occupations out there besides teaching. How about help for the rest of us? All of us went to school, and most of us were neither impressed with that occupation nor dazzled by the competence of most teachers. How many of us make a living now in occupations where it takes more than a year for your employer to fire someone? How many of us get 12+ weeks off every year and still get paid a years wages? Public school teachers , like members of Congress, have a great racket going which is why they stay in that occupation forever. They know they can’t match it anywhere else. It’s time we stopped regarding them as if they were volunteer doctors and nurses. Public school teaching is a job, not a call to martyrdom.

You and I share many similar belifs but this is very much related to topic of jobs and self-worth. .
If we had a vibrant robust economy, and if jobs were plentiful. .meaningful jobs, that supported a person’s dignity whether it be intellect or physical, so as to make the individual proud and responsible, you would not have this sort of behavior.
Respect is earned but it is easier to earn when one is educated, responsible, and lives a meaningful life.

I can’t accept a President who has bias when it comes to Civility and he was calling for it during the Gifford shooting.
When a President has been so divisive and won’t meet with the other party or accept any great ideas they have to offer, then he won’t make apology for Hoffa, Carson, Waters or any other member of his party.
Name calling is one thing but threat are an entirely different matter. Remember this come Election time. No matter the intelligent but respectful facts will be laid out in the many factual words of this President speak.
As far as JOBS AND BETTER TIMES, oh, they are coming but no because of Obama. He lacks the intelligence to lead. The real leaders are American’s on ingenuity and until then we will suffer through more speeches and more Obama teleprompters and no real solutions.

On Wednesday, CBS News learned that the president’s jobs and growth package now could top $400 billion. That’s a big number, and CBS News correspondent Norah O’Donnell reports that the size of this plan has grown over recent days.
Advisors claim this plan will have bipartisan appeal and will be paid for with additional deficit reduction. President Obama’s plan will combine new tax cuts and spending measures.
Also included in the plan is an extension of the payroll-tax cuts set to expire. That’s worth $1,000 per household. Its estimated cost is $120 billion dollars.
The president would like to add new payroll tax cuts for employers, for small businesses.

The President has not consulted Republicans in Congress, but if they don’t pass his bill, he will blame them.
“We’re going to see if we’ve got some straight shooters in Congress. We’re going to see if Congressional Republicans will put country before party,” Obama said recently.
Expect to hear more of that from the president, Scott. He’s going to take his message on the road in a series of speeches that advisors say will be all about his plan versus the Republicans plan to fix the economy.

America’s True Debt — The Fiscal Gap
Our country is in far worse fiscal shape than its $14 trillion — and rapidly growing — official debt suggests. Indeed, that figure measures just a small portion of the government’s total liabilities. Why is that? The answer is there is no answer, and because there is no answer, the deficit is not well defined, says Laurence Kotlikoff, a senior fellow with the National Center for Policy Analysis.
Generational accounting is a well-established methodology to measure the burden of government on specific generations. A generational account for any given generation measures the generation’s remaining lifetime net tax bill as a present value — what the generation will pay net of what it will receive, all valued as of today. This amount has to cover the government’s official debt plus the present value of all future government purchases of goods and services (discretionary spending). If it doesn’t, the difference that’s not covered is called the fiscal gap.
The U.S. fiscal gap, based on the Congressional Budget Office’s long-term Alternative Fiscal Scenario, is nowhere close to the $14 trillion official debt.
Indeed, the U.S. fiscal gap is $211 trillion — 15 times larger than the official debt.
This means that Congress and the president have been focusing on the molehill, not the mountain, in their recent contretemps over the debt ceiling.
With the retirement of the baby boomer generation, millions will turn to Uncle Sam for Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid benefits — roughly $40,000, on average, per beneficiary per year. This means the fiscal gap will increase exponentially in the coming years. The fiscal gap needs to be zero for the United States’ fiscal policy to be sustainable, says Kotlikoff.
Achieving this result via tax hikes alone would require an immediate and permanent increase in all federal tax rates (corporate, personal income, excise and estate and gift taxes) of 64 percent.
Alternatively, the United States could immediately and permanently cut all non-interest spending by 40 percent.

Lets see, he’s going to reveal more of this plan next week. Is this plan big enough so he can let out a little every week until November 2012? In all reality, the best thing he could have said would be that he and all of his administration are resigning, effective immediately and walk out the door.
