Rep. Allen West (R-FL) told Laura Ingraham tonight on the O’Reilly Factor that he was the modern day Harriet Tubman.

Allen West: “Well I think Laura when you look at what is happening, the laughable hypocrisy is that the big black bus is not going into the black communities. When you have unemployment in the black community, 16.3% in July and it dropped down to 15.9% in the month of August, that’s not in the right direction. So you have this 21st Century plantation where the democrat party has forever taken the black vote for granted and you have established certain black leaders are nothing more than the overseers of the plantation. And, now the people on that plantation are upset because they’ve been disregarded, disrespected and their concerns are not cared about. So I’m here as the modern day Harriet Tubman to kinda lead people on the underground railroad away from that plantation into a sense of sensibility.”

  10. Allen West rocks!!

  11. I have waited a long time to hear this. You never heard it from J C Watts, Colin Powell, Condeleeza Rice, or Michael Steel. They were just black interlopers eager to take advantage of the opportunities affirmative action gave black people to accelrated leadership positions within the Republican party without really believing in conservatism . They never spoke out against the racism of socialism and elite white liberals. They never did a damn thing towards ending the race baiting plantation politics of the welfare state. What West is saying can actually draw quality black voters to the party, which the fake token appointments of the past failed to do.

  12. THIS QUOTE negates his PIGFORD vote, right now.

  29. He’s absolutely right. American Blacks have been snookered by the Left. Most of them are still are on the plantation. And they’ll stay there as long as they fall for those grievance-mongers who make them believe they are powerless. Fortunately, many astute Black Americans–like Allen West–are appearing on the scene, who have seen the light and are insisting on their full share of personal and intellectual freedom. That’s something to look forward to.

  41. Are you guys forgetting this is the same man that voted for Pigford payments? Are you forgetting what he said about the TEA party’s resistance to the raising of the debt ceiling? Before you get to high on him, look at what he does as much as what he says. He has some wonderful soundbites, but he doesn’t always live up to what he says. I like what he says, most of the time, but, I’m with holding judgement as to how far up the ladder I want him to rise. I’m not sure as to “what you see will be what you get”.

  49. I am more cautious about Mr. West since the Pigford vote.
I don’t know….maybe I should get some medication for my TEA party schizophrenia.
He is right on the mark for this one as he has been for the majority of his sound bytes so far.

  50. Allen West is a true American hero and he’s proved it out in the badlands (both DC and elsewhere).

West as VP would be a waste of talent.

Perry-Bolton, w/ Allen west as Secretary of State.

    No more bowing, world!!

  51. Yesss sir, I sho nuf be carrying yo luggage Missah Obama!

Sooner or later the blacks are going to figure it out. The Democrats have been throwing them crumbs (benefits) to keep them ignorant, uneducated plantation workers (Democratic voters). While the “benefits” seem great up front, they are really like the crack that keeps people from ever being able to live their lives to their fullest potential.

The black race has been decimated by the Democratic party. You can’t accept “help” unless you are one-down. So the Democrats keep telling the blacks they are going to reach down from their white horses and “help” the black community. And what have they received but an addiction to that which keeps them from ever being able to get up on one of those horses of their own.

  52. Love the American spirit in west. The black

community is a lost cause. Too many years of

Entitlement sugar daddy. Too few make anything

Out of thier lives. Even the NFL athletes have

An entitlement attitude, oh that’s right thier union.

Sad really, they think/expect so little of themselves.

    Plantation mentality indeed.

    Powder is dry

  53. There’s another parallel between West & Harriet Tubman–both were known to carry a gun. Google Harriet Tubman+gun. A few years ago there was a mural that showed her with a rifle, which set off a controversy among gun-control advocates.
    http://reason.com/archives/2000/12/01/disarming-harriet-tubman

Contrast West & Tubman to the modern day NAACP which promotes gun control and joined in the failed lawsuit against gun makers.

  54. Tragically, low income Blacks are more influenced by the attitude of so called black leaders like Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price, now under investigation by the FBI.

This was from an interview questioning his opposition and roadblocks to an industrial inland port that would create thousands of jobs in his district…

“Slavery, Jim,” he said, “that’s an institution. And the effort of the institution was working. And working traditionally is a job.
“I am going to tell you,” he said, “the nickname that most African-Americans have for a job. It’s called a slave.”

  55. Great response President West.

    Run Baby Run!

  56. I LOVE WEST!

I want all of those named by West to attack him so he can destroy them with pure historical facts

  57. I used to love this guy and actively campaigned for him. I was elated when he won and finally became my congressman. He talks great but his voting in the congress sucks. Sorry but unless you people move to Fl-22 I don’t see how he will win reelection. We are over West’s BS. I don’t want to hear what you are going to do West show me. So far you voted for Pigford, voted to increase the debt ceiling, and then called the Tea Party Peeps loons. See ya. You have some serious ‘splainin to do.

an excellent little summation, thank you..

hope you don’t mind my adding a cadre of reverential UNCLE TOMS to not
only seal the deal and guarantee their ignorance, but keep the HATE against
WHITEY the scapegoat alive.. because the truth is, people of ALL COLORS in
HIGH PLACES have been fanning the flames of RACISM to not only PROFIT
themselves, but to retain their powerful positions for decades, even sorrier
to say, most especially those in Africa and the Middle East..

[please scroll for much more, ie:, info @ links, thank you]

oh yes, there is beyond a show of a doubt EVIL in this world, and it not only
has no borders, but it comes in ALL colors, creeds, and credentials at a high
cost to all civilized members of the human race.. :-(

  59. West is a genuine guy, and an honorable man. He admits publicly that his Pigford vote could have been a big mistake. How many other politicians would be so honest?

  60. ++

duh. re: #65, thought i edited..

    a show of a doubt = a shadow of a doubt

  61. The idea expressed by a handful of people, that Allen West should be primaried due to his support of the Boehner plan and/or Pigford, is just ridiculous. Whether or not the plan deserved support, West doesn’t deserve the vitriol aimed at him.

I would only ask those few, the ones who now think West is their enemy, to please name one person who has never done anything with which they disagree. Living or dead. And once we discover that there has never been any such person, then it would seem that everyone who ever lived has to be an enemy. Silly, isn’t it?

  62. Hopefully, Rep. Allen West’s words will truly resonate throughout the Black Communities. As he has said before you can give a person a hand up but hand out forever will put them in more despair. The unemployment in America is hurting all colors and before our economy fail the blacks were the most unemployed of Americans.

There are so many ways anyone can go to College or better themselves. There are good parents and teachers who must work with their kids. Instill in them at an early age to strive for greatness. There is a time coming when Government cannot do so much, therefore individuals in each city have to step up even more to help.

I believe when a child has a full belly, gets attention that is critical when they are young and wonderful role models can accomplish anything even in these hard times.

We need to reverse the radicals views of the past and start caring for the future of America. That way intelligence and common sense can truly lead the way to a better nation.

What is the difference between slaves on plantations and
blacks who blindly vote for Democrats? August 18, 2011

    1. Free Housing.
    2. Free Food.
    3. Free Healthcare
    4. A menial education sufficient to the task he requires the slave to perform.

What is the one thing a slave owner required of his slaves?

    1. Unquestioning Loyalty.

What do the democrats always promise to provide, free, to blacks?

    1. Free Housing.
    2. Free Food.
    3. Free healthcare
    4. A free menial education, sufficient to get them to the voting booth.

What is the one thing Democrats require of their constituents?

    1. Unquestioning Loyalty.

The only question black democrats have to ask themselves is:

    Who’s your master now?]

  64. I can’t tell what pins Lt. Col. West has on his lapel. I was hoping it was an American flag after what lamestream ABC News came out with today. Feel free to pass it on! Here it is in all it’s “UNGLORY!”:

Yesterday, the brass at ABC News issued orders forbidding reporters to wear lapel pin American flags or other patriotic insignia. Their reasoning was that ABC should remain neutral about “causes”. Since when is support for preventing our death & destruction some sort of a cause? Since when is patriotism to be discouraged. I urge you to boycott ABC and its sponsors and affiliates
