Palestinian Leader Abbas: Obama Promised Us a State By September

Abbas told reporters in Tunisia this week that Obama promised the Palestinians a state by September.
Israel Survival Update and YNet reported:
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said during a visit in Tunisia that the Palestinian Authority is ready to establish a state. “We are counting on the words of US President Barack Obama who said his vision is to see a Palestinian state this coming September according to a deadline set by the Quartet.”
Abbas added that 130 countries have already recognized a Palestinian state on 1967 borders and that this number could well reach 140 or 150. He stated that Western European countries have also accepted the fact that a Palestinian state will be established sooner or later, despite not having recognized it yet.

You could be on to something. Now, whether or not Barky made that promise or Abbas just pulled this out of his turban is impossible to say. After Barky denies making that promise to Abbas (and he will deny it), it will still be impossible to know if he said it or not. Which liar should we believe? I don’t know. Whether it originated with Barky or Abbas, I’ll bet September was chosen for that significance.

He doesn’t like being questioned about such things, either – see his reaction when the Texas reporter pushed just a little, and then the White House puts out a leak that it might be that guy’s last interview with Obama, ever. When questioned, he generally ducks, dodges, or just outright lies. Legacy media always lets him get away with it, partly because they are in his pocket, but also because they know if they irritate him they will be cut off from access.

Sooo… there a question as to why the Revolutionary French picked TEN to toss out the 7 day week commanded by God .. ten day week, ten month year, and the old measuring system replaced by the metric – 10.
It all collapsed after a while, but the metric system is still around. And less useful and less natural than what it replaced.

Yes, it is true. Obama has been facilitating the recognition of “Palestine” as an independent state. He wants to do it by having the U.N. recognize Palestine in late summer or early fall. This plan is not a secret, it is just not reported widely, and certainly not by Obama’s sycophant media here in the U.S.
This is a fantasy of Obama’s advisors, particularily Power. It is and will be a disaster. Years, er, probably decades, of more viscous war, death, and destruction will follow. It is Obama’s fantasy that giving Islamists their own state (funded by and supported with U.S. tax dollars) will bring peace. Of course, that is utterly ignorant. What will happen is the Islamists will build weapons factories next to hospitals and schools. If Israel strikes the weapons factories, “Palestine” will call for U.N. and U.S. protection. “Jewish writers such as Philo, in particular, and Josephus, who flourished while Judea was still formally in existence, used the name Palestine for the Land of Israel in their Greek works”1
So where did this ancient name come from? It’s unlikely that it has anything to do with the Philistines, since the Greek translation of the Old Testament, the Septuagint (c. 250 BC) calls the Philistines something quite different: Φυλιστιιμ Phylistiim, a transliteration of the Hebrew. Rather, it is far more likely that the name comes from the Greek παλαιστής palaistēs, wrestler, from Greek παλαιώ palaiō, wrestle). Jacobson points out:
“The striking similarity between the Greek word for ‘wrestler’ (palaistes) and the name Palaistine—which share seven letters in a row, including a diphthong—is strong evidence of a connection between them.”1
So, why “wrestler”? Because this goes back to the origin of the name Israel itself. Genesis 32:22–32 describes God (probably the pre-incarnate Christ) wrestling with Jacob, then renaming him “Israel”, after whom the Israelite nation was named.
It’s also notable that the term “Palestine” doesn’t appear in the Koran. It was only after Israel’s devastating victory in the Six Day War in 1967 that the term “Palestinian” was applied to Arabs living in or near Israel.

Numerology is a big game among muslims. There is always somebody willing to publish an article illustrating the “religious” significance of any given number.
I suspect the real origin of the base 10 numbering system has to do with the number of fingers on our hands. Now, of course, all our really significant math and engineering is done in base 2 and translated into base 10.

He could outline the story, and then tell Mr. Abbas that there is a large number of Americans that think that his people should be treated like the servant with one talent, and ask him what he would answer to that.
