Breaking: Wisconsin GOP Senator Glenn Grothman Mobbed at Wisconsin Capitol (Video)

Breaking Report: Wisconsin Republican Glenn Grothman was just mobbed by a group of union thugs.
Republican youth leader Josiah Cantrall reported that the Republican Senator was mobbed by union thugs as he approached the capitol today. He was held for several minutes and was forced to call for assistance. The whole incident was captured on camera – Am waiting for updates.
Here’s the video.
Grothman was on The Last Word today with Lawrence O’Donnell and told the host that the protesters staying in the Wisconsin capitol building were slobs. True.

We have a problem in this nation, and it’s a serious one. The MSM is truly become the worst of Iron Curtain -era Soviet and East German propagandists. At times I believe they have gone much further. Rumors of the US taking in former Nazi and Communist masters of propaganda coupled with the undeniable fact that all disciplines get more effective with time and practice (such as, say, tomato cultivation — one cannot deny that those who practice this have gotten better at it by many orders of magnitude in the last 60 years….Burpee’s comes to mind….), you can’t help but think that we are in for some serious s&&t.

Wisc. Public Employees Invest in Koch-Owned Company

The vitriol from protesting Wisconsin workers towards the Kochs emerged quickly and intensely. Signs ranging between lame and vulgar (often both) dot the public-union marches.
But what the protesters don’t realize is that they actually have a reason to root for the Koch brothers.
According to the State of Wisconsin Investment Board (SWIB), the Wisconsin Retirement System owns $5.5 million in Georgia Pacific corporate bonds. (Georgia Pacific is owned by Koch Industries.) This is the retirement system in which the overwhelming majority of state and local employees participate. These are the pension benefits that public employees are trying so hard to protect.
So here’s the challenge: Explain to a Wisconsin state worker that they are the ones helping fund the Koch brothers. Then sit back and watch the fun.

I managed to watch the video through to completion…it wasn’t easy. But those here who say their hands were up in the peace sign and were chanting “Peace” — it appeared that that was the way they would signal their troops that they were getting out of hand.
The Peace sign and chanting “Peaceful” was used to calm themselves down. I’m glad they did. The crowd was pressing forward and there was nowhere for them to go. We all know deaths have occurred when crowds crush people against an immovable object.
It’s misleading to have anyone think the crowd was peaceful from the start. They were purposefully loud and obnoxious until one of their own – with a frightened, frantic look (@3:00mark) began the “Peace” initiatives. It took nearly a minute of signalling and calling out “Peaceful” to get the crowd under control.

It was hard to watch this to the finish. I immediately thought of the scene in Tennessee William’s play “Suddenly Last Summer” where Elizabeth Taylor is telling the story about Montgomery Clift being hounded by crowds in Italy….or was it Greece…..and eventually beaten by the mobs (he died)……because he was a homosexual. Sorry if my details are fuzzy about the movie….but when audiences watched this drama years ago, they were becoming sensitized to the “otherness” and terror that an openly gay person lived with….and films like this helped pave the way for the tolerance we now have for diverse sexual identities.

Amazing to see how many people here are talking about guns and violence and calling teachers, nurses, etc. goons and other names. The people of Wisconsin are indeed angry, and they shouted “Shame!” at a politician whom they believe should be ashamed of himself for his policy decisions. I agree with them. The governor accidentally locked the Senator out of the capitol while illegally locking out the people whose taxes pay for all of their salaries as well as the building’s expenses. None of these people are violent. None of them are talking about bringing weapons, which is more than I can say for the people commenting here. I’m in my private sector job and grateful for my public education. I want my future children to benefit from high-quality teachers like I had growing up in Wisconsin. My teachers weren’t lazy “slobs.” They worked extremely hard for a very modest paycheck. You all should be ashamed of yourselves for wanting to hold on to a few extra pennies at the expense of public employees like teachers, nurses, janitors, and prison guards who will NEVER make a lot of money but who devote themselves to the welfare of their fellow man, not to mention all the children, patients, and law-abiding citizens who benefit from their hard work. My bet is that all of you, in fact, benefit from their work! And that is why you chip in to pay their salaries. Maybe you’d prefer to have volunteer prison guards? Or volunteer teachers? Wouldn’t that be nice, if we could have great people in important jobs without paying them? Dream on. If you think they’ve got it so good, why not go get a public sector job yourself? You too could earn $36,000/year but have good benefits! If that’s what you want, why not work for it?

To recap: white students in Texas perform better than white students in Wisconsin, black students in Texas perform better than black students in Wisconsin, Hispanic students in Texas perform better than Hispanic students in Wisconsin. In 18 separate ethnicity-controlled comparisons, the only one where Wisconsin students performed better than their peers in Texas was 4th grade science for Hispanic students (statistically insignificant), and this was reversed by 8th grade. Further, Texas students exceeded the national average for their ethnic cohort in all 18 comparisons; Wisconsinites were below the national average in 8, above average in 8.
Perhaps the most striking thing in these numbers is the within-state gap between white and minority students. Not only did white Texas students outperform white Wisconsin students, the gap between white students and minority students in Texas was much less than the gap between white and minority students in Wisconsin. In other words, students are better off in Texas schools than in Wisconsin schools – especially minority students.
Conclusion: instead of chanting slogans in Madison, maybe it’s time for Wisconsin teachers to take refresher lessons from their non-union counterparts in the Lone Star State.
