Hundreds rallied today outside of Russ Carnahan’s office in St. Louis.

500 protesters met today at Carnahan’s Brentwood office. The rally was called late yesterday afternoon. Missouri protesters wanted to let “Rubber Stamp Russ” know that he will pay in November for being Pelosi’s puppet all year long.
Local FOX 2 reported on the protest:

A loud group of health care reform opponents protested in front of Congressman Russ Carnahan’s office Saturday afternoon, about 24 hours before the House of Representatives was to vote on the historic overhaul. Calling it the “Keep Your Hands Off Our Health Care” rally, demonstrators say their concerns are not being listened to.

Angry protesters chucked shoes at radical Russ Carnahan on a can:

One protester brought a “tarred and feathered” effigy of Russ Carnahan.

The protesters torched Russ’s photo while they chanted “Death to Dictator.”

Organizer Bill Hennessy was interviewed by the local media today.

The more “Rubber Stamp Russ” votes with Pelosi the more he loses support in St. Louis. It’s so bad he’s even popping up on billboards in South St. Louis.
The St. Louis Tea Party website has more on today’s rally.

Keyboard Militia has some great photos from today.

  1. I just love how many young people are also taking part in these protests. It actually returns some of the hope I’ve lost when it comes to the generations born after me.

    Bravo!

  2. That’s my daughter and her friends….I’m so proud!

  3. I was there!
    What a blast.
    LOTS of support from passing cars, vans,and even a bus!!!

  4. Great Job!

  6. Protect Freedom!
    Vote the SCUM out
    November 2010!

    Don’t be surprised if all who attended get auditted by the IRS, a favorite socialist democrat tactic designed to silence dissent.

    Where was little Russie, hiding behind his purple shirted union thugs?

  7. It’s over. :(

  8. These speeches were absolutely abominable: divisive, partisan, sniping, petty and narcissistic. ALL of them are condescending. I have never been so angry in my life. This was absolutely appalling. KNOWING how much we do not want this, they stand up there in a big circle (ahem) and praise each other and how great they are, how sacrificial, how wonderful they are to do such a wonderful thing for the “American people.” Meanwhile, the truth is revealed when one of the circle (ahemmers) says, Rules? We’re the Congress. We make em up as we go along.

  9. It’s over. :(

    Well, better go jump off a building, then. The rest of us will keep on fighting, and we’ll take back our country.

    While you’re moping in self-pity, we’ll be getting things done. You can thank us when we win.

    It’s over. :(

    It’s nowhere near over yet. First, no one’s really sure if they even have the votes. Second, assuming the latest whip count is accurate, all that’s needed to stop this is one or two votes. Third, we’re not really going to know how this breaks until they vote tomorrow–if they vote tomorrow. Don’t fall into the inevitability trap they are so fond of using. Remember, they just had 30,000 + angry people descend on them in what amounted to a “pickup” protest–imagine what the response would have been if this had been planned for a month or two! This, along with the debacle of the rules committee meeting, might well have knocked some sense into a few heads.

    Even if this bill is passed (and that is very much a strong–very strong–probability), it doesn’t mean all is lost. There are so many court challenges being planned for this thing that it’s going to get tied up forever. Added to that, the “fix” has to go to the Senate and the Senate Republicans look to be ready to wage all out trench warfare. This is going to get dragged on through the 2010 elections and that’s when we throw out anyone with a “D” after their name. Then, if we get the necessary 2/3 majority, we repeal the sucker, overriding the One’s veto. If we don’t, we keep the issue alive, and do everything we can to gum up the works until 2012 when we will hopefully be able to increase our majority and get a Republican president who will then kill this thing once and for all.

    Even if all that fails, there’s the constitutional amendment/convention route where we can kill it.

    The only way these guys win is if you give up–so–DON’T GIVE UP.

  11. The pics of the young faces who turned out for freedom give me hope.

  12. Matt Helm

    Well said indeed. The stench of this bill (and the “anointed one”) is eye-watering and reaches into every zip code in the US. The skank-in-charge POTUS is tanking every day…all of the court challenges will wear down whatever passes…I am concerned tho that the US Supremes are 4 conservatives-4 moonbats and Anthony Kennedy (the swing vote)..an AC/DC record (by the way, does the name Kennedy bother you too?) may come down to Kennedy having the final say over this fiasco after it’s been served up legally as a challenge by Idaho and 37 other states AGs (to this point). Imagine..congress (Dems) has abrogated it’s responsibility, the POTUS is a (Muslim???) Marxist and finally One Man Kennedy? We the people indeed……

  13. Almost every car was honking with a thumbs up! This was great. The number of young participants was really a good omen — I spoke with a couple and THEY GET IT.

    One bearded gentlemen had a flatbed truck with a huge flag and both sides of the truck painted “Kill the Bill.” Awesome.

  14. Even if this passes…we all know that this is not the end.

    This is the beginning of a groundswell and REVOLUTION that will rage for as long as necessary to protect our freedoms and our Constitution.

    Be not afraid…this is history…determine how you want to be judged.

  15. Be not afraid…this is history…determine how you want to be judged.

    Exactly! We’re the authors of our own destiny. We’ve been a little lazy recently and let some really bad people take over, but that’s nothing to be ashamed of. Tyranny is the default setting of politics. Most politicians simply want to exercise absolute power.

    We’re different, though. We proved it over 200 years ago, and we just have to prove it again. It’s a mission we’ve been assigned.

    Complete the mission for your children and grandchildren. Be grateful that you now have the chance to change history, like our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

  16. Glad to see the Independent Conservative Republican out shaking hands in the crowd. What a great day.

  17. Good to see people of all ages attending!

  18. It’s over. :(

    Not. :)

    I have been engaged in politics since 1976 – and I was in 4th grade, at the time. I voted in 1988 for four more years of Ronald Reagan (still waiting for those).

    The enemies of freedom, and believe you me, they are ENEMIES, want nothing more than for you to slump your shoulders and accept that you are just a serf. Unfortunately for them, that works a lot better everywhere else in the world than it works in the USA.

    They want you to believe it’s over. They want that with all their blackened, undersized hearts. It is the one thing you have control to not give them; it is the one thing you must never, ever give them.

  19. Angry racists are angry.

  20. Angry racists are angry.

    It’s nice to hear from fifth graders, but I have to tell you, sonny, that opposing insane levels of government spending isn’t racist.

    Under the current president and Congress, the monthly deficits are higher than the yearly deficits under Bush and the Republican Congress. This is not sustainable, and there’s no way to pay for it, ever. Even if you confiscate all the private wealth in the U.S., we can’t pay for what the current president and Congress are legislating.

    So, what’s your response to the legitimate concerns about irresponsible spending?

    “Racists!”

    Amazing.

    It’s also encouraging, because it means your side has no argument. Therefore, when it comes time to vote again, your side will be utterly slaughtered.

  21. I was there. Two bus drivers honked, as well as a taxi driver. Seems as if the union backing is fading. Great rally!

  22. I didn’t see anything about this on stltoday.com. Are you sure it really happened?

  23. The “protesters” remind me of the hippies during the 60′s. It’s a bunch of self-centered narcissists who think they’re the only people in the world who matter, and become enraged when they don’t get their way.

    I wonder how many of the “protesters” happily pay taxes for their fire and police service. If your house burns down or you get robbed, that doesn’t affect me, so why should I be taxed to put your house fire out or prosecute the guy who mugged you, when it was probably your fault that those things happened to yuo?

  24. Thanks for putting up our Freedom is Sexy poster. If you’re interested in hearing more about what the Tea Party youth are up to, check out our website at: http://www.wtpshow.com

    We have an internet radio talk show and cover all the important tea party issues, as well as major news items and a little bit of investigative journalism.

    Hope you tune in, and thanks for fighting for our rights!

  25. The “protesters” remind me of the hippies during the 60’s. It’s a bunch of self-centered narcissists who think they’re the only people in the world who matter, and become enraged when they don’t get their way.

    A pretty shallow analysis of both the 1960s and what’s happening today.

    What happened to the ability to engage in critical thinking? All we get from you guys is insults that have literally no bearing whatsoever on the motivations of the protesters.

    This is why ObamaCare is doomed even if it passes. When you have no understanding of why people oppose it, you can’t provide a convincing argument to defend it. Your side is going to screech about racism and sick children, utterly failing to address the issues of unsustainable cost and draconian limitations on our freedoms. As a result, your side is going to be voted out in massive, unprecedented numbers.

    ObamaCare is a preordained failure, and you can’t even see it.

  26. The “protesters” remind me of the hippies during the 60’s…

    MISSING
    * burning and/or defaced American flags
    * lots of dope
    * obscene chants
    * waves of body odor
    * communist flags and symbols
    * butcher of bolivia t-shirts
    * police being called pigs
    * people throwing rocks at local businesses
    * medics being called for ‘bad trips’
    * American soldiers being called baby killers
    * John Kerry
    etc etc etc

    If you think this looked like the sixties you weren’t there, weren’t here now, or (most likely) are Nowhere Man reading DNC talking points and typing them into posts.

  27. NSM, why aren’t you shouting from the rooftops about the destruction of your liberty from mandated car insurance or mandated fire departments? If your house burns down, that doesn’t harm me at all. If some thug robs or murders you, that doesn’t have any impact on me either, but my tax dollars go to that.

    If you want to see a draconian limitation, then look no further than “tort reform” proposals designed to make doctors immune from any an all lawsuits. The attempt to remove any and all negative consequences for one’s actions impedes freedom. When someone harms another, the person harms deserves to be made whole. Judicial mediation of disputes is perhaps one of the few legitimate purposes of government, yet the hippie-like protesters seem to even be against this.

    It makes me wonder whether the tea party thinks there is a role for any government at all.
