The NFL has told the Department of Homeland Security to take down a social media video that used Hall of Fame safety Brian Dawkins’ hardest hits as a reply to a report of a migrant caravan heading toward the southern border.
League spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed the request Monday.
DHS left the clip up and responded that the department is playing “lockdown defense.”
The agency posted the video Sunday evening on its official X account as a quote of Leading Report, which wrote, “JUST IN; Huge migrant caravan headed towards the US southern border.”
The department’s caption read, “Our time has come.”
The clip opens with Dawkins’ pregame walkout, the chant he used to fire himself up, then cuts to a montage of brutal takedowns as Korn’s “Blind” plays.

The post had more than 100,000 likes by Tuesday.
Dawkins was reportedly not happy about the use of his image.
In a text to ESPN, he wrote, “I have very respectfully not given permission.”
On X, he posted a video and said, “Let’s be clear. I didn’t give permission for my name, image and likeness to be used by anybody — by anybody. Take a deep breath. Take a deep breath. Y’all be blessed.”

He also wrote that he has “respectfully not given permission to anyone other than those I currently do business with to use my NIL.”
DHS did not delete it.
Spokesperson Chandler Rebel told Front Office Sports, “DHS is playing lockdown defense at the border. We will use every Weapon at our disposal, from A to X, to keep Americans safe.”
“Weapon X” was Dawkins’ nickname.
