Matt Gaetz for Florida Governor? – “Big News Coming Next Week,” Says Gaetz’s Wife

Former Congressman Matt Gaetz is expected to make “big news” next week, fueling speculation that he may announce a run for Governor of Florida after he was targeted by the DC Swamp and withdrew from his nomination for Trump’s Attorney General.

Gaetz resigned from Congress after he was tapped by the President to lead the Department of Justice. The RINOs and Democrats on the House Ethics Committee, however, continued harassing him and trying to keep falsified allegations of sex trafficking alive.

It can be recalled that the DOJ investigated the allegations against Gaetz but found that they lacked credibility and exonerated Gaetz of wrongdoing.

Notably, the House Ethics Committee reopened the investigation in 2023 as Gaetz ramped up challenges to former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who was later ousted by Gaetz’s Motion to Vacate the chair. This is nothing more than a political payback scheme aimed at stopping Gaetz’s Senate confirmation for Attorney General. Some RINOs in the Senate, including John Cornyn of Texas, seemingly plan to use the Ethics Committee’s report against Gaetz to shoot him down as Attorney General.

Gaetz has denied all allegations of wrongdoing.

Last month, Gaetz withdrew his name from being considered for AG due to the unfair distraction from President Trump’s next term caused by the Deep State and RINOs.

But, House Democrats are now trying to force the House Ethics Committee to release their lawfare report despite the committee no longer having jurisdiction over Gaetz. As The Gateway Pundit reported, the House voted on Thursday to block two resolutions that would force the report’s release. Still, the Deep State has been selectively leaking parts of the report to the media, and a so-called ‘hacker’ also obtained a trove of documents from the ‘”damaging” report.

It is still unclear what the MAGA firebrand’s next move will be, but Gaetz has said he does not plan to return to Congress and recently posted a cryptic tweet saying he will fight to save our country from “a different post.” Two days later, as The Gateway Pundit reported, Gaetz posted an image of the Flordia state flag on X, leading many to believe he’s contemplating a run for Governor in 2026.

Governor Ron DeSantis’s term will end in 2027, and due to Florida law, he will be ineligible to run for a third term.

Gaetz’s wife, Ginger Gaetz, posted on X, “Big news coming next week!”

Though it is unclear what the news will be, some have floated Gaetz as a potential replacement for Trump’s Secretary of State Nominee, Marco Rubio’s, Senate seat, which will be filled by an appointment from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

However, this is not likely, as Gaetz doesn’t appear to have any plans to return to the Swamp, and he recently threw his support behind Lara Trump in an X post from the Mar a Lago:

Trump has emerged as a clear favorite to replace Rubio, and she recently said she’d “love to serve the people of Florida” if asked by DeSantis.

Gaetz’s prospects for Governor are well-known and widely reported on. Polling data from earlier this year shows Gaetz leading in a hypothetical matchup between Gaetz, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL), Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL), and Democratic State Sen. Shev Jones.

The Gateway Pundit will continue to provide updates on Matt Gaetz’s next move.
