Chris Rock Responds to Will Smith’s ‘Apology’ for Assaulting Him at the Oscars with an Epic Response

This post was updated. It is a flashback report on Will Smith’s assault on Chris Rock.

Will Smith finally responded to his assault of Chris Rock at this year’s Oscars with a response.  Chris Rock put him in his place.

At the Oscars award ceremony this past year, Will Smith jumped up on stage and smacked Chris Rock in the face at the beginning of the event.   TGP reported on this criminal act.

Smith was never held accountable.  He was allowed to stay in the building.  He was given an award.  There was no arrest, even though the entire criminal act was caught on live television.

A week ago, Smith responded to the incident in a video on Instagram.

Chris Rock responded to Smith’s ‘apology’ with the following response:

“Everybody is trying to be a (expletive) victim,” Rock said, per People. “If everybody claims to be a victim, then nobody will hear the real victims. Even me getting smacked by Suge Smith … I went to work the next day, I got kids.”

Jason Whitlock addressed the responses from Smith and Rock in his show.  Whitlock praised Chris Rock’s response, saying the comedian “can take a punch and deliver a punchline.”

“Chris Rock is more manly than many black professional athletes. The 57-year-old comedian is barely 150 pounds. As a child, bullies ran him out of his high school. But now he’s more courageous than men who are allegedly gladiators,” Jason said.

Whitlock and Rock come out winners after Smith’s actions and remarks.   Will Smith was the loser.  Americans saw that it is ok to assault someone on live TV for any reason.  You might even be awarded for it.

Smith was no victim.  Neither is Rock.  Rock shows that you can move forward despite attacks (literally physical attacks) and do the right thing.  No one can blame Rock for staying away from Smith in the future.
