Alex Jones Files Lawsuit Against January 6 House Select Committee

Infowars host Alex Jones filed a lawsuit against the January 6 House Select Committee on Monday after he was issued a subpoenaed last month by the sham panel to testify on the Capitol “insurrection.”

The Select Committee has already proven its intent to frame its witnesses. Last week, a member of the committee, Rep. Adam Schiff, doctored text messages it received from former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows in a bid to incriminate the former congressman with conspiring Republican members of Congress to overturn the 2020 presidential election results.

Jones announced that he would plead the Fifth and refrain from answering the Select Committee during deposition to avoid similar attempts of entrapment.

“This morning I went ahead and made the decision that I am going to take the Fifth officially with the January 6 witch hunt 3.0, as Roger Stone calls it. Also, a lawsuit we have been working on for the last week will be filed against the committee today in Washington, DC,” the Infowars host announced during his Monday broadcast.

The complaint is “not just a declaration of the Fifth, but freedom of the press, and the fact that the Committee is not constituted correctly…it didn’t even follow the law on how many Republicans it’s supposed to have on it. It’s only got two; you’re supposed to have at least five,” he said.

House members, including Reps. Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, Elizabeth Cheney and Rep. Adam Kinzinger, as defendants on the 29-page complaint.

“This is an action to protect individual liberties and rights as old as the United States Constitution itself, rights that the United States Congress now seeks to suspend in coercive secret proceedings specifically designed to satiate a political witch hunt, bypass constitutional safeguards, and hijack the role of the Executive Branch while threatening criminal prosecution against anyone who dares to assert his rights and liberties against its demands,” the complaint states. “Alex Jones seeks declaratory and injunctive relief.”

Jones is seen in footage documented by the Infowars crew on January 6 urging demonstrators to get away from the Capitol building and peacefully protest and discouraging lawbreaking activity.

“We are not Antifa. We are not BLM,” Jones told the crowd. “We need to not have a confrontation with the police, they are going to make that the story.”

Infowars host Owen Shroyer is facing charges for breaching the US Capitol grounds on January 6, despite never entering the Capitol building during the march in Washington, DC.

Jones is asking supporters of Infowars to donate to the “Save Infowars Legal Defense Fund”  to fight back against the latest assaults.
