Notorious race baiting grifter Al Sharpton has admitted to Politico that he plans to tar and feather Democrat Senators Kyrsten Sinema (AZ) and Joe Manchin (WV) if they continue refusing to support their party’s attempt to end the filibuster.
Sharpton said that him and other activists will be accusing the senators of “supporting racism” and opposing voting rights for minorities.
The Democrat Party is attempting to get rid of the filibuster to make it easier for them to push extreme measures like gun control with a simple majority, instead of the “super-majority” of 60 votes currently required.
Sinema and Manchin have both been open to possible reform, but have opposed the party’s plan to change the rules entirely.
Sharpton told Politico on Thursday that he plans to accuse the two senators with “supporting and facilitating white supremacy” if they don’t cave to his demands.
“The pressure that we are going to put on Sinema and Manchin is calling [the filibuster] racist and saying that they are, in effect, supporting racism,” Sharpton said. “Why would they be wedded to something that has those results? Their voters need to know that.”
Sharpton said that even if they aren’t racist, accusing them as such is fine because the ends justify the means.
“Many of us, and certainly all of us in the civil rights leadership, are committed to policies and laws and causes, not to people’s political careers. We’re not into that. We want to change the country,” he said. “And if there is not feasible evidence that we’re doing that, it is not in our concern to be aggressively involved.”
