A police spokesman said the demonstrators gathered in front of the Republican’s residence and did not cause violence and only chanted slogans, left a constitution on the doorstep and chalk drawings on the sidewalk. Police did not comment on the fact that the protestors went onto private property to leave their “gift” while a vulnerable mother and newborn were home alone.
The video streaming of the protest being used by fact checkers and the MSM to suggest this was a “peaceful” protest only provides one angle of the event, the perspective of the protestors. Fact checkers and the media have yet to provide video or context of what it was like inside the Hawley home for a mother alone with a newborn baby while her husband was out of town. The media is comfortable normalizing scaring a vulnerable mother and newborn by minimizing her experience and further minimizing the protectiveness of a husband and father worried about his family.
