Historic Church Sign Vandalized With Images of Penis Guns, $2,000 Reward Offered for Information on Person Responsible

A $2,000 reward is now being offered for information on the vandal or vandals who painted phallic guns on a church sign in Virginia late last month.

The Providence Presbyterian Church in Powhatan’s sign, at the intersection of Old Buckingham Road and Ridge Road., is believed to have been vandalized sometime overnight Jan. 28.

Providence Presbyterian Church was built in 1747 and is in the US Register of Historic Places. It is also on the Virginia Landmarks Register because it is one of the few frame churches in Virginia remaining from colonial times.

The sign was sprayed with graffiti of guns stenciled over penises. The vandal also wrote the word “f-ck.”

“It appeared that a penis was drawn with spray paint and an Uzi stencil was used to make gun like shapes on it,” NBC 12 reported.

The police checked the area and church for additional vandalism, but they did not find any.

The son of a family who attends the church is offering the reward.
