Nearly 50,000 people have liked a tweet from comedian and Awful Records founder Zack Fox about killing a pro-Trump child.
The child from Texas, Benton Stevens, made national news this week after raising $22,000 for a border wall with lemonade and hot chocolate stands.
“Benton Stevens raised $22k with his hot chocolate stand to help build the wall! We were honored to have him at our ribbon cutting ceremony yesterday for the wall he helped pay for along with all of you who donated. This is only the beginning and we’re excited to keep building more to protect our nation and the legal citizens who proudly call American their home!” We Build the Wall, an organization crowdfunding the private construction of a border wall wrote on Facebook.
In a tweet, Fox posted a screenshot of a news article about Steven’s stands alongside a photoshopped image of someone about to run him over.
The tweet has been “liked” over 49,000 times and retweeted nearly 10,000 times in less than 24 hours.
In a profile on Mask Magazine, the Atlanta-based Fox is described as an internet provocateur, artist, and comedian. He also hosts Awful’s monthly Red Bull Radio show Bruh.
“It’s clear that Zack enjoys using the Internet to troll and make art because he’s so good at it. His illustrations use vibrant linework and uncomfortable humor full of nipples and phalluses; his work is almost enthusiastically offensive. Since I’ve known Zack primarily as an illustrator, I was intrigued when I noticed he started producing text-infused objects and memes. I caught up with Zack to see what he is thinking about and what he is working on,” the glowing profile reads.
The child decided he wanted to help fund the wall after watching President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address last year, and began raising money with his lemonade and hot chocolate stands in February.
Stevens has also launched a website called Benton’s Stand where you can purchase packaged lemonade and hot chocolate.
