Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin Holds His Ground – Smacks Down Democrat Lawmaker Gunning For Trump’s Tax Returns (VIDEO)

Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and IRS Chief Rettig appeared on Capitol Hill Wednesday to testify before the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee.

The rabid Democrats are gunning for President Trump’s tax returns and Steve Mnuchin basically told them to pound sand.

Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) angrily grilled Mnuchin about Trump’s tax returns and even rattled off how “crook” Richard Nixon underpaid his taxes — this is all for show.

Citing the New York Times report on Trump’s tax documents from 1985 to 1994, Van Hollen suggested Trump dodged paying his ‘fair share’ in taxes because he used LEGAL tax shelters.

Mnuchin did not budge and lectured the Democrat Senator on the separate branches of government.

Secretary Mnuchin told Van Hollen that he’s prepared to take the battle for Trump’s taxes to court.

“There is a difference in interpretation between Congress and us, the Department of Justice around this law that not only impacts this president and this Congress but has a very big impact on every single taxpayer in weaponizing the IRS and this is why there are three branches of government — So if there is a difference of opinion, this will go to the third branch of government to be resolved,” Mnuchin said.

Mnuchin’s smack down left Van Hollen whining about how Congress has a legitimate interest in whether or not the IRS properly enforced the law.

You’ll get nothing and like it, Van Hollen.
