Retail Giant J.Crew is now selling pink “I am a feminist too” shirts for boys.
“Start ‘Em Young,” J.Crew posted on an Instagram message promoting its indoctrination campaign.
The company is donating 10 percent of every shirt sold to Girl Up, an organization that works alongside the United Nations to help girls “achieve their dreams,” the company says on its site.
The limited-edition shirts are already sold out on its website as of Tuesday, though J.Crew did not say how many shirts they produced.
But the popular clothing retailer is selling a similar T-shirt for girls with the message, “You see a girl, I see the future,” for $29.50.
J.Crew’s partner with the clothing company Prinkshop in this venture, also praised its “inclusive design” on its own Instagram account, “a cause-centric community that create clothes and accessories that people want to wear and carry, that give them a voice and help them to create change in the world around them,” according to its website.
“We value freedom of speech and freedom of commerce. We want to create change and create jobs,” Prinkshop’s executives state on their site. “Our bold, text-based graphic products feature issues ranging from women’s reproductive rights and push for equality to education and gun control.”
