Rep DeSantis Warns: This is ‘Just the Beginning’ After DOJ Opens Investigation Into Comey Over Classified Information

BREAKING NEWS.

Inspector General Horowitz is now investigating James Comey over his classified memos.

Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) immediately came out swinging and warned ‘this is just the beginning.’

The Wall Street Journal reported at least two of the memos Comey gave his friend contained classified information prompting Inspector General Michael Horowitz to conduct an investigation.

Of those two memos, Mr. Comey himself redacted elements of one that he knew to be classified to protect secrets before he handed the documents over to his friend. He determined at the time that another memo contained no classified information, but after he left the Federal Bureau of Investigation, bureau officials upgraded it to “confidential,” the lowest level of classification.

The Justice Department inspector general is now conducting an investigation into classification issues related to the Comey memos, according to a person familiar with the matter. Mr. Comey has said he considered the memos personal rather than government documents.

Fired FBI Chief James Comey wrote about the memos in his book and leaked the documents to reporters last year.

President Trump unleashed on Comey in a midnight tweet pointing out the disgraced FBI chief leaked classified information.

Immediately after it was revealed the Inspector General was conducting an investigation into Comey over classified information, Rep DeSantis came out swinging.

DeSantis tweeted: Referral of Comey due to transmitting classified info was justified and this IG action is probably just the beginning. By leaking two classified memos for political purposes, Comey will have a hard time demonstrating that his actions were lawful.

DeSantis is a fearless warrior in the fight against the Deep State.

Rep. DeSantis and 10 other lawmakers sent a letter to the DOJ Wednesday, criminally referring Comey, Hillary Clinton, McCabe and Loretta Lynch for their investigations into Trump.

A bad week for Comey, McCabe, Hillary and Loretta Lynch is a good week for Trump supporters.
