POWER HOGG: Parkland’s David Hogg Starts Boycott of Laura Ingraham After She Tweets About His College Rejections

“Soooo @IngrahamAngle what are your biggest advertisers … Asking for a friend. #BoycottIngramAdverts” , David Hogg to Laura Ingraham on Twitter Wednesday night.

Liberal gun control activist David Hogg is targeting conservative talk radio and Fox News host Laura Ingraham with an advertiser boycott because she tweeted an article about his travails getting accepted to colleges and commented he is ‘whining’ about being rejected. The 17-year-old Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School senior and media star survivor of the February 14 massacre at the school has made no secret of his troubles getting accepted to the schools of his choice, even tweeting about it in the weeks after the attack as he became a celebrated student activist.

March 16: “Just got rejected from another college but that’s ok we’re already changing the world. Goodnight everyone”

March 17: “Update: I have one more muffin and just got rejected by another school. Oh god what will eat next to cope I might just have to breakout the emergency chocolate bar”

Ingraham tweeted a Daily Wire article by Joseph Curl Wednesday morning (which itself reported on a Hogg interview with TMZ about the rejections), commenting, “David Hogg Rejected By Four Colleges To Which He Applied and whines about it. (Dinged by UCLA with a 4.1 GPA…totally predictable given acceptance rates.)”

Excerpt from the Daily Wire:

“It’s been kind of annoying having to deal with that and everything else that’s been going on but at this point, you know, we’re changing the world. We’re too busy. Right now it’s hard to focus on that,” he said.

Hogg, who holds a 4.2 grade point average, said he got the rejection letters two weeks ago.

“I am not surprised at all in all honesty. I think there’s a lot of amazing people that don’t get to college, not only that do things like I do but because their voices just aren’t heard in the tsunami of people that apply every year to colleges in such an economic impacted school system here which we have here in America where people have to go into massive amounts of debt just to go to college and get an education,” he said.

“I think it’s really sad but it’s the truth.”

Hogg responded Wednesday night with a call to boycott Ingraham.

“Soooo @IngrahamAngle what are your biggest advertisers … Asking for a friend. #BoycottIngramAdverts”

“Working on a list rn !”

“Pick a number 1-12 contact the company next to that # Top Laura Ingraham Advertisers
1. @sleepnumber 2. @ATT 3. Nutrish4. @Allstate & @esurance 5. @Bayer 6. @RocketMortgage Mortgage
7. @LibertyMutual 8. @Arbys 9. @TripAdvisor 10. @Nestle 11. @hulu 12. @Wayfair”

Hogg then tweeted each advertiser listed with the same question: “why do you support this?”

While Ingraham is facing a boycott for mildly criticizing Hogg, Hogg himself has smeared the five million members of the NRA as “child murderers“–to liberal acclaim.

Hogg tweeted last summer about his desire to be a player, “Only after a week in LA I’ve made a youtube video with over Half a million views and got on the news…just imagine what I could do with a year”:

Since the massacre, Hogg has been living his dream of being a player. Hogg went on an anti-NRA boycott rampage and also called for boycotts of Florida and FedEx among others.

An excerpt and video from the TMZ article about Hogg’s college travails.

David has been rejected by the 4 University of California campuses where he submitted applications — UCLA, UCSD, UCSB and UC Irvine. He says the rejection letters came 2 weeks ago. He has a 4.2 GPA and an SAT score of 1270.

…David got accepted at Cal Poly, Cal State San Marcos and Florida Atlantic University, but he’s not sure what he’ll do after graduating.

And David says fellow leader Ryan Deitsch also got rejected from the University of California system. He says Emma Gonzalez will be going to the liberal arts school, New College of Florida…”

A 2017 article evaluating SAT scores shows Hogg’s 1270 puts him in the 80th percentile (1230=80th 1330=90th).

Before Hogg threatened Ingraham with a sponsor boycott she was criticized by others on line for daring to ding Hogg. One example of many, this from Rep. Nydia Velazquez (D-NY), “I have to ask – @IngrahamAngle – honestly, what kind of a mother bullies a HS student who survived a school shooting and a massacre? These kids know more about grace and class than you’ll ever understand.”

TMZ’s Harvey Levin responded to Ingraham, telling her he did not think Hogg was whining, “@IngrahamAngle David was not whining. I called him about the story. He was not feeling sorry for himself in the slightest. It was my idea that colleges should consider applicants who are so committed. Did you watch the video???”

Last week Hogg told Axios he would likely take a gap year because he believes he is succeeding at his goal of changing America.

“David Hogg says he will likely take a gap year: “I was going to go to college so I could do stuff like this and help change the future of America politically…but now that I’m already doing that, I think it’s more important that I continue this mission that I have.”

Note: As of publication Ingraham has not responded on Twitter about the boycott.
