JUST IN: Michael Cohen Agrees to Publicly Testify to Congress Next Month

Trump’s former personal lawyer-turned-rat Michael Cohen agreed to publicly testify to the House Oversight Committee on February 7th.

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD), Chairman of the Democrat-controlled panel announced the hearing on Thursday afternoon.

“I look forward to having the privilege of being afforded a platform with which to give a full and credible account of the events which have transpired,” Michael Cohen said in a statement to ABC News, adding that he accepted the invitation “in furtherance of my commitment to cooperate and provide the American people with answers.”

Rep. Cummings said in a press release, “I thank Michael Cohen for agreeing to testify before the Oversight Committee voluntarily. I want to make clear that we have no interest in inappropriately interfering with any ongoing criminal investigations, and to that end, we are in the process of consulting with Special Counsel Mueller’s office. The Committee will announce additional information in the coming weeks.”

In August, Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to breaking campaign finance laws ‘at the direction of a candidate’ after Robert Mueller turned the screws on him.

Cohen was also charged on allegations of bank and tax fraud from a taxi cab business he owned with another business partner after the FBI raided his home and office in April and seized personal property including computers and phones.

In December, Cohen wept as he begged the judge to give him no jail time. He threw Trump under the bus and said it was his ‘blind loyalty‘ that led him to cover up the President’s “dirty deeds.”

Manhattan prosecutors went for the jugular and Cohen was sentenced to 3 years in prison.

Cohen is expected to report to prison on March 6th.

Leave it to the Democrats to seek testimony from a proven liar– a man who already pleaded guilty to lying to Congress.
