SHOWDOWN=> DHS Vows to Arrest, Prosecute Caravan of Illegal Aliens if They Enter US

On Monday, the Department of Homeland Security vowed to arrest and prosecute the caravan of illegal aliens currently marching through Mexico if they enter the United States.

The Washington Times reported:

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen on Monday promised members of the illegal immigrant caravan still making its way to the U.S. border that they could face criminal charges if they jump the border despite all the warnings.

The migrants insist they are refugees seeking asylum from specific oppression at home, not rank-and-file illegal immigrants trying to reunite with family or get jobs or a better life in the U.S. They said they’ll make their case.

But Mr. Nielsen said if they are seeking a safe place away from their Central American homes they would stop in Mexico, where they are currently traveling, and where authorities are able to provide asylum.

“If you enter the United States illegally, let me be clear: you have broken the law. And we will enforce the law through prosecution of illegal border crossers,” she said.

President Trump unleashed on the caravan of illegals in a pair of tweets Monday morning.

POTUS Trump said he instructed the DHS to NOT let these large caravans into the US, calleing it a “disgrace,” then said we need a wall.

POTUS called for wall funding fast.

About a month ago, a caravan army of illegal aliens, mostly from Central America, entered Mexico through the Guatemalan border with a goal of reaching the Unites States where they would seek asylum.

Two weeks ago, the caravan began to splinter into smaller groups after attracting the ire of President Trump and conservatives.

Although the number of aliens marching to the US border has reduced from the original 1,500 or so, many still plan to seek asylum from the United States.

In early April, President Trump signed the proclamation directing the National Guard be deployed to the Mexican border.

On Sunday, Fox News reported about 50 Central American migrants had just reached the US border:

A group of about 50 Central American migrants who fled southern Mexico in late March have reportedly reached the U.S. border and plan to seek asylum.

“Since yesterday, some began to cross into the United States to turn themselves in from Tijuana and request asylum. We understand more of (the migrants) will do the same,” Jose Maria Garcia, director of Juventud 2000, an organization dedicated to assisting migrants, told Reuters.

More migrants reportedly will be arriving in the coming days.

Mexican drug cartels, illegal aliens and other criminal activity must be stopped at the US border.
