McCabe Lawyer Hints at Defamation Suit Against Trump in Statement Following Release of IG Report “Stay Tuned”

The highly-anticipated Inspector General report on the firing of former Deputy Director of the FBI Andrew McCabe was released Friday afternoon.

The report is very damning; McCabe lied under oath several times.

President Trump torched McCabe in a tweet after the IG report was released.

“He LIED!” Trump said of McCabe then called the Deep State operatives pushing the false Russian collusion investigation a “den of thieves and lowlifes.”

Andrew McCabe’s counsel, Michael Bromwich lashed out at Trump and his senior associates Friday afternoon in a statement following the release of the IG report.

Michael Bromwich linked to his official statement and tweeted: “The IG report is out: Andy McCabe’s reward for 21 years devoted service was 23 days worth of “due process.” The AG terminated him 26 hours short of his retirement on very shaky facts, depriving him of his retirement benefits. A disgrace.”

Michael Bromwhich argued many points stated in Inspector General Horowitz’s report, including two of the at least three charges against McCabe that he lacked candor (lied).

Bromwich accused Trump of subjecting McCabe to ad hominem attacks before and after his termination. McCabe’s counsel then hinted he is considering a defamation suit against Trump and his senior associates.

In response to Trump’s tweet, Bromwich stated: “Thank you for providing even more material for the defamation suit we are actively considering filing against you and your colleagues. Stay tuned.”

Michael Bromwich previously served as Inspector General for the Justice Department under former President Bill Clinton.
