Developing: Democrat House Intel Counter-Memo ‘Likely’ To Be Released Today

In response to the Nunes memo, House Intelligence Committee Democrats are ‘likely,’ to release a ‘declassified’ version of their counter-memo on Saturday, reports Byron York of the Washington Examiner.

On February 9th, White House Counsel Don McGahn notified House Intelligence Committee Democrats that President Trump would not approve of the memo’s release until “sensitive details” were removed.

“Trump will not approve of releasing Dem memo, per person with knowledge. Instead, he will tell legislators that memo needs changes before it could be released,” reported Josh Dawsey of The Washington Post.

Soon after the announcement, Democrat House Intel Committee Adam Schiff expressed frustration with the decision, tweeting “After ignoring urging of FBI & DOJ not to release misleading Nunes memo because it omits material facts, @POTUS now expresses concerns over sharing precisely those facts with public and seeks to send it back to the same Majority that produced the flawed Nunes memo to begin with.”

The next morning, President Trump accused House Intelligence Committee members of purposely including “sources and methods,” in the counter-memo, effectively sabotaging the document’s release.

“The Democrats sent a very political and long response memo which they knew, because of sources and methods (and more), would have to be heavily redacted, whereupon they would blame the White House for lack of transparency,” Trump tweeted.

Told them to re-do and send back in proper form!” the President added.
