WITCH HUNT: FBI Conducted Predawn Raid of Paul Manafort’s Home

The witch hunt persists against President Trump.

The FBI conducted a predawn raid of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort’s Alexandria home last month. Law enforcement seized documents and other campaign related materials.

Washington Post reports:

Federal agents appeared at Paul Manafort’s home without advance warning in the predawn hours of July 26, the day after he met voluntarily with the staff for the Senate Intelligence Committee.

The search warrant was wide-ranging and FBI agents working with special counsel Robert S. Mueller III departed the home with various records.

The raid came as Manafort has been voluntarily producing documents to congressional committees investigating Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election. The search warrant indicates investigators may have argued to a federal judge they had reason to believe Manafort could not be trusted to turn over all records in response to a grand jury subpoena.

It could also have been intended to send a message to President Trump’s former campaign chairman that he should not expect gentle treatment or legal courtesies from Mueller’s team.

The documents included materials Manafort had already provided to Congress, said people familiar with the search.

“If the FBI wanted the documents, they could just ask [Manafort] and he would have turned them over,” said one adviser close to the White House.

From day one, the appointment of Robert Mueller as Special Counsel prompted major red flags. Mueller’s relationship with former FBI Director James Comey along with him building a team of pro-Hillary Clinton investigators simply cannot be ignored.

Reuters is now reporting that two anonymous sources (no surprise there), say investigators are plotting to flip Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort to use as leverage against President Trump.

Reuters reports:

U.S. investigators examining money laundering accusations against President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort hope to push him to cooperate with their probe into possible collusion between Trump’s campaign and Russia, two sources with direct knowledge of the investigation said.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team is examining Manafort’s financial and real estate records in New York as well as his involvement in Ukrainian politics, the officials said.

Between 2006 and 2013, Manafort bought three New York properties, including one in Trump Tower in Manhattan. He paid for them in full and later took out mortgages against them. A former senior U.S. law enforcement official said that tactic is often used as a means to hide the origin of funds gained illegally. Reuters has no independent evidence that Manafort did this.

The sources also did not say whether Mueller has uncovered any evidence to charge Manafort with money laundering, but they said doing so is seen by investigators as critical in getting his full cooperation in their investigation.

“If Mueller’s team can threaten criminal charges against Manafort, they could use that as leverage to convince him to cooperate,” said one of the sources.

Manafort’s spokesman, Jason Maloni, said, “Paul Manafort is not a cooperating witness. Once again there is no truth to the disinformation put forth by anonymous sources and leakers.”

The Gateway Pundit recently reported nearly 100 percent of Robert Mueller’s law firm donated to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and it’s important to note that Manafort played an important role in defeating such campaign.

Robert Mueller cannot be trusted, according to former Speaker Newt Gingrich, who told Fox News Friday that the Special Counsel’s law firm made 99.81% of its presidential campaign contributions to Hillary Clinton.

Newt Gingrich: “The Mueller investigation has so many conflicts of interest, it’s almost an absurdity. The law firm he comes from gave 99.81 percent of its donations to Hillary Clinton last year. That’s right, .19 of 1 percent went to Donald Trump. The people he has been hiring are all anti-Trump lawyers, several of them have very bad records of hiding information from the defense and one case was rebuked by the Supreme Court in a 9-0 vote. It’s hard to understand why he would assemble such a team unless it was a deliberate effort to go after the President and the President’s team.”
