U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York, Preet Bharara was fired on Saturday. Preet was one of the U.S. attorneys asked to resign by AG Sessions and was subsequently fired after failing to turn in his resignation.
Preet Bharara took to his Twitter account to announce that he had been fired.
I did not resign. Moments ago I was fired. Being the US Attorney in SDNY will forever be the greatest honor of my professional life.
