President Donald Trump Nominates Conservative Judge Neil Gorsuch To The Supreme Court!

Judge Neil Gorsuch To The Supreme Court

Just moments ago President Donald Trump nominated Judge Neil Gorsuch to the United States Supreme Court.

“The real appeal of Gorsuch nomination is he’s likely to be the most effective conservative nominee in terms of winning over Anthony Kennedy and forging conservative decisions on the court,” said Jeffrey Rosen of the National Constitution Center.

The Denver native is only 49 years old meaning that he could potentially serve on the Supreme Court for 30+ years if he makes it through Senate confirmations where Republicans hold a majority.

The Gateway Pundit was one of the first to report Judge Neil Gorsuch was the favorite to be the nominee back on January 22.

The Gateway Pundit also reported that Senate GOP leaders will confirm him with or without the democrats.

From The Denver Post:

Gorsuch, a Denver native serving on the federal appeals court’s 10th Circuit, has the kind of elite academic credentials — Columbia University, Harvard Law, Oxford University for a doctorate in legal philosophy — that led him to clerk for two U.S. Supreme Court justices.

Then, after 10 years in private practice with a prestigious Washington law firm, he served a year as deputy associate attorney general with the U.S. Department of Justice. George W. Bush nominated Gorsuch for the Denver-based appeals court spot left by David Ebel in 2006…

…For conservatives such as John Malcolm, director of the Meese Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at the Heritage Foundation, Gorsuch meets conservative standards as an originalist and a textualist — someone who interprets the Constitution and statutes as they were originally written.
