AUDIO: Hillary Clinton Goes Off on Trump Supporters: ‘Basket of Deplorables’, ‘Irredeemable’, ‘Not America’

COMPLETE AUDIO AND EDITED VIDEO OF CLINTON’S REMARKS ADDED AT END OF ARTICLE. Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton attacked supporters of her rival Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, saying half of them are deplorable, irredeemable and ‘not America’ among other slurs in remarks Clinton made at a high dollar fundraiser held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City that featured Barbra Streisand as the entertainment. With tickets as high as $250,000, a reported $6 million was raised.

A pool report was posted online by various reporters covering the campaign.

“Clinton on the two types of Trump supporters: “the deplorables” and people who think the govt has let them down”

“At her fundraiser tonight, Clinton says there are two types of Trump voters: half are in the “basket of deplorables””

Clinton’s opinion of Trump supporters shows that with only two months left until election day she does not understand the electorate. To say that half of Trump’s supporters are deplorable, irredeemable people who are ‘not America’ while the other half are so desperate for change they don’t care where it comes from is a simplistic, stereotypical, liberal attitude that looks down on Trump supporters.

I know there are only 60 days left to make our case–and don’t get complacent, don’t see the latest outrageous, offensive, inappropriate comment and think well he’s done now. We are living in a volatile political environment.

“You know, just to be grossly generalist, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic — you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people – now have 11 million. He tweets and retweets their offensive, hateful, mean-spirited rhetoric.

“Now some of these folks, they are irredeemable, but thankfully they are not America.

“But the other basket–and I know this because I see friends from all over America here–I see friends from Florida and Georgia and South Carolina and Texas–as well as, you know, New York and California–but that other basket of people are people who feel that the government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures, and they’re just desperate for change. It doesn’t really even matter where it comes from. They don’t buy everything he says, but he seems to hold out some hope that their lives will be different. They won’t wake up and see their jobs disappear, lose a kid to heroin, feel like they’re in a dead end. Those are people we have to understand and empathize with as well.”

That last statement is also an unwitting indictment of eight years of Obama.

BTW, very few photos online from the fundraiser. One attendee posted a photo of Chelsea Clinton.

“Just heard some amazing remarks from Chelsea Clinton at the Clinton/Streisand LGBT event in NY”

Bloomberg’s Jennifer Epstein posted and then deleted this photo from the fundraiser of Laverne Cox.

Epstein captioned the photo, “Seeing Barbra Streisand at Clinton fundraiser, @Lavernecox says she’s “verklempt right now.”

An Instagram video excerpt of Streisand singing was posted by an attendee.

A wire photo of Hillary Clinton at the fundraiser was posted late Friday evening.

Ted Johnson with Variety posted a Soundcloud of Clinton insulting half of America.

“Here’s audio of Clinton’s “basket of deplorables” remark about Trump supporters:”
