Hundreds of people gathered in Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania today to show their support for Turkey’s Islamist leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
On Saturday forces loyal to Erdogan quashed a coup attempt by some members of the military that began Friday evening.
Later in the day Saturday Erdogan demanded the United States arrest or extradite an exiled Islamic cleric he blames for a coup attempt.
The cleric, Fethullah Gulen, lives in Pennsylvania.
On Saturday afternoon hundreds of Erdogan supporters rallied outside of Gulen’s residence in Pennsylvania in support of the Islamist leader in Turkey.
