Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake blames media for accurately reporting her words from her mouth.

Democratic leadership at its finest.

On Sunday Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake told reporters that city officials gave the violent Freddie Gray protesters “space” to destroy property.

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake told reporters:

“While we tried to make sure that they were protected from the cars and the other things that were going on. We also gave those who wished to destroy space to do that as well. And we work very hard to keep that balance and to put ourselves in the best position to deescalate, and that’s what you saw.”

Here’s the video:

Tonight Rawlings Blake said her words were “mischaracterized” by the media.

“It is very unfortunate that members of your industry decided to mischaracterize my words and try to use it as a way to say we are inciting violence.”

Tell that to YouTube, Mayor Rawlings-Blake.
