US intelligence officials picked up unprecedented chatter of a terrorist plot this week, prompting the U.S. government to close nearly two-dozen embassies and consulates. White House spokesman Jay Carney explained that though al Qaeda remains largely “on the run,” the United States does face “an ongoing threat.”
But despite these reported threats, the Obama White House moved a special Marine task force back to Spain from Sigonella, Italy.
Jennifer Griffin at FOX News reported:
“The Pentagon announced US forces across the Middle East are on heightened alert tonight. And yet, FOX News has learned the 600 US Marine task force formed in the wake of the Benghazi attack returned to its base in Moron, Spain after weeks of being forward deployed in Sigonella, Italy, despite the new terror alert.”
This doesn’t make much sense.
